Twenty One

Roommate 2: Running Away

"Seohyun-ah. Come on, get inside. She's probably on her way back." Taeyeon patted Seohyun's hair who was sitting on the dirt by the gate waiting for said girl's arrival.

She and Tiffany have been busy trying to cool down everyone's head after the discussion - or more like arguement - earlier. While they were doing that, Seohyun made it her point to go and wait by the gate for Sunny's return. It's been over two hours since she sat by the gate so the kid leader and Yuri went to call her back in.

"Unnie. I don't like this." Seohyun looked up and met Taeyeon's eyes.

Taeyeon sighed. "Me too." She said and continued to pat her head.

"Don't worry. It's Sunny we're talking about. Nobody know's this mountain better than her." Yuri added crouching down and giving her a hug.

"I know that unnie. It's just that. . ." The maknae heaved a deep sigh.

"It's just what?" Taeyeon crouched to meet her eyes.

"It's just that, I feel like there's something wrong. I don't know why." Seohyun felt like tears were about to flow from her eyes so she wiped it before it even fell.

"Hey. Don't worry. Uhm, how about we give her within the hour to return and if she doesn't, Yuri and I will go to Ch- Wanggu-appa's house and ask him for help." Taeyeon said to trying comfort and reassure herself and the maknae.

Still with much hesitation and doubt, Seohyun smiled at her and grabbed her unnies hands and stood up.

"Aigoo~! Look at your pants! It's so dirty now." Taeyeon said and patted her bottom.

"Yah! Byuntaengoo! You're just trying to feel her again." Yuri joked trying to lift Seohyun's mood up.

Taeyeon got her idea and did her best feeling the maknae's while dusting it off. Seohyun laughed and ran away from them both towards the room.

Sunny stormed off starting with long strides before angrily running towards the mountain. She ran and ran until she couldn't breath and didn't even stop and continued walking mindlessly. Her reverie was broken when she tripped on a fallen branch laying on the pathway.

"Ah!" She yelped and landed on the ground with her hands bracing herself.

"Damn it!" She got up and dusted her clothes only to wince in pain from her palm.

"Ah~!" She looked at her palm and saw the scratches. Her right palm's skin peeled of a little causing it to bleed and had scratches compared to the left which only had a few scratches on it.

She lightly wiped it off the dirt on the end of her sweater and blew on it to cool the pain off a little.

When the pain subsided, she looked at the ground and crouched down to move the branch off the pathway. What's caught her attention about the branch was it looked as if it was positioned there intentionally. She brushed the thought off and sighed getting back up looking around the area she stopped. It's been four long years since she and other cast of Invincible Youth hiked around the mountains. She sighed again remembering the happy and exciting memories from that time.

"Might as well go to the creek." She told herself distracting herself from what happened earlier.

She turned around again and continued to walk on the pathway.

She was distracted but too distracted not to notice that significant changes around her.

Seohyun kept her eyes on her watched and kept Taeyeon's words in her head. She felt so agitated by the minute watching the clock tick by.

"Taeyeon-unnie, it's already a quarter before five and Sunny-unnie isn't back yet." Seohyun said catching everyone's attention. "We have to start looking for her."

Taeyeon couldn't help but worry as well when she heard Seohyun.

"Yuri, do you know the area?" Taeyeon asked the black pearl.

"I don't. It was always Sunny and the others who got the chance to check that side of the mountain." Yuri said sighing.

"Then I guess we need to get chief now." Taeyeon walked towards the door.

"Wait. No. I'll go get him." Yuri volunteered grabbing her hoodie and a mask.

"Let's go together." Taeyeon insisted.

"No. It has be just me. I know the area well and it's best if I go alone to avoid any unwanted attention." Yuri argued.

"She's right." Jessica agreed still caught up in a daze.

Taeyeon sighed in defeat. "Fine. But you have to be quick."

She linked her arm on Yuri's and walked her out to the gate. Yuri did as told but stopped by a neighbor who quickly recognized her. She asked to borrow the bike parked on the yard and pleaded for the lady not to tell anyone that she was there. The lady was gladly to comply on her plea and handed her the bike. Yuri promised to return it a little later and said her goodbyes to the lady.

She reached the Chief's house in a matter of less than ten minutes. Parking the bike beside the chief's truck, she walked to the front door and was about to knock when the door opened up to her first.

"Oh my goodness!" The old man shouted in surprise.

Half of Yuri's face was all covered up so the old man was unable to recognize her immediately.

"Appa. It's me." Yuri ped the jacket to her chin level.

The oldman was surprised again and quickly pulled her in and looked around the area before closing the door.

"Ani! What are you doing here?! I told you I'll be coming over later." Chief scolded her.

"Aah~. I came because we have an emergency." Yuri said whining.

Wanggu's brows creased. "Emergency? What kind of emergency?"

"Sunny ran off to the mountain a few hours ago and hasn't been back yet."

"What?! She ran off to the montain? Are you sure?" The old man yelled again.

Yuri was surprised with the reaction of the Chief. "N-neh. I think she might've gone to the creek. Remember? That one time you guys went to film by the creek but wasn't aired on tv?"

Wanggu's mind was racing. "They didn't air it because we spent most of the time looking for Sunny." He said in a hushed voice but loud enough for Yuri to hear.

"Neh?! Looking for Sunny? What do you mean?" Yuri asked.

"She got lost during that time and we weren't able to film anything because the crew and everyone else spent most of the time looking for her. That's why the whole episode wasn't aired." He explained and sighed.

Yuri was shocked to find out about it. So that explains it. That's why she had puffy eyes and the PD's even lied.

"Come on. Go sit down first and I'll go get some stuffs before we go find her." He escorted her towards the living room before leaving her their.

Yuri was still shocked to have found out the reason why one of the best episodes of the show four years ago wasn't aired. The PD-nim then explained that the whole episode was damaged but Chief's explanation just now explains what just happened. She was still in a daze when someone, not Chief Wanggu, entered the living room.

The man stopped in front of her and she looked up to see someone with their face covered with a mask and glasses.

"Omoya!" She screamed. "Appa!!!"

She got up and ran towards the direction where the old man went earlier. The old man himself was surprised to hear her scream so he ran meeting her half way in the hall way.

"Wae keorae?! Why are you screaming?!" He asked holding the girl by the shoulder.

"Appa! There's a stranger in the living room!" She frantically answered.

"Stranger? Ah." The old man realized who she meant and let her shoulders go.

"Ah??" Yuri's brow creased from the lack of surprised from the old man's answer.

"What? Why were you surprised? You should now him. He told me you were good friends." The old man said pulling her back to the living room.

"Friends?" Yuri became puzzled with the old man's explanation.

"Eoh. Come on."

They got back to the living room and saw the stranger crouching down doing something to his backpack. He must've heard them enter because he stood up and turned to face them.

"Ryohei-ah. What were you doing scaring off my Yuri? I thought you said you were friends?" The old man scolded the tall lanky looking man.

"Oppa?!" Yuri exclaimed when she saw the face of the man from earlier.

"Ah. Neh. I'm sorry, sir. I heard you talking to someone earlier when I used the bathroom so I had to cover up." He explained before turning to the girl and greeting her. "Annyeong Yuri."

"Why are you here?" Yuri blurted out forgetting her manner.

"Ya! Greet him back first before asking him a question." Chief scolded her.

Yuri blushed and did as she was told. "Annyeonghasaeyo Ryohei-oppa. Why are you here?"

The old man left to leave them to talk and for him to look for the equipments they needed.

"Oh. Uhm... Sunny and I had a fight before your trip and I feel kind of guilty for fighting with her so I kind of followed her here to apologize." He answered rubbing his neck.

"Ei? You fought and you followed her here? But how did you know she was here?" Yuri asked. Bwoyah? Are they dating? How come Sunny didn't tell us?

"I tried calling her but I heard her phone ring from her room and took it. I saw a list stuck on it and it had your three nights and two days itinerary written on it. I guess she must've been so busy she forgot to take it with her."

"Wait. Please tell me you didn't bring your phone with you." Yuri looked at him.

"A-ani. I didn't. That was even written on the list so I had her phone and mine kept away in her closet." He told her.

"Ryohei-ah! Yuri-ah! Come help me with this box so that we can get going on finding Sunny!" The oldman screamed from the hallway.

"Neh!" He grabbed his bag and his coat and was out in the hallway when he realized what the old man just said. He turned around and looked at Yuri. "Sunny's missing?"

"N-neh. Well, not really. I'll explain it in the car later. Come on." She walked pass him and helped the old man open the door and carry on box out to the truck.

Chief Wanggu got on the driver's seat and Yuri got in first before Ryohei. The old man got the car started as soon as he heard the door locked.

"Okay. So tell me what happened to Sunny." Ryohei leaned on the car door to face Yuri.

Yuri looked at the man and hesitated before answering. If they're dating. . . Ah. . . Whatever!

Yuri explained everything much to her comfort since both male couldn't help but raise their voices giving her torture all through the ride. The old man questioned and lectured her about them fighting while Ryohei bombarded her questions regarding Sunny.

Reminiscing my early K-pop days XD I started following K-pop in 2012, and Roommate was one of my favorite TV shows. Through this show I realized that movie stars/singers/entertainers are also normal people like us =) Thank you author-nim for writing such great fanfic <3
