Roommate 2: Running Away

"So tell me again why I can't drive you to the dorm?" Ryohei's brows creased as he asked her the question.

He stood by the door watching Sunny run around the room looking for items she needed for their SoShi's MT. It's been only a day since they visited the dorm and he was surprised to see her packing clothes and other stuffs when he passed by her room an hour ago.

"Just because." Sunny answered without looking at him.

"Oh come on." He sighed and went to sit on her bed. "You've been acting suspecious ever since we came back from your dorm. I've noticed it and so have the others. Especially noona."

"No, I haven't. I've just been excited thinking of how I'm about to spend my night with the girls." She cool answered.

"Excited. Tch." Ryohei sarcastically answered.

"Yah. What's with the sarcasm?" She hit him with one of her folded up clothes.

"Eih. You seriously call making mysterious phone calls with a grimm face excited? Who are you kidding? And besides, you've been biting your thumb again after those phone calls."

Sunny stopped packing when she heard what he just said.

What? How? Damn it oppa.

Making haste, she locked the door and turned back to look at Ryohei.

Ryohei was caught off guard and shocked when she did so. But the thing is, it wasn't the locking of the door that had him surprised. It was her expression and sudden change that shocked him.

"What's wrong?" Ryohei stood from the bed.

"Did. What do you know about the phone call?" Sunny did her best to lower her voice.

Crap. This is not good. Ryohei analyzed her tone and knew that the phone call was meant to be a secret.

"Wait." He walked to the closest camera and turned it off before doing the same with the others.

"Oppa. What do you know about my phone call?" She asked again with the same hushed voice.

"Did you eavesdrop on me oppa?" Her voice was hinted a sense of betrayal.

"What? No, no, no. I was kind of looking for you earlier when I saw you in the backyard corner talking quietly on the phone. And I kind of saw you doing it more than twice today." He answered now with the same hushed voice as her.

Sunny's stood their with an expression that showed no belief in what he just said.

Ryohei felt hurt when she did. Even when he showed her that she could trust her, she still showed hesitation around him.

"So you really don't trust me, do you?" His words came out hurt and betrayed.

"Oppa. I-it's not that." Sunny immediately denied.

"It's okay. We've only known each other for a short time anyway. I understand." He said with a sighed as he walked slowly towards the door.

Sunny stood in his way.

"We're. . . you are still my friend, right?" She asked with her head down and leaning on his chest.

Ryohei patted her head and caressed her hair but didn't say anything.

In her point of view, she saw that a sign of rejection and didn't try to ask twice before moving aside and letting him pass.

"Be careful on your way, okay?" He turned and gave her a last pat  on the head before closing the door again.

Seohyun was the designated driver until they reached the first stop. She insisted on driving all the way but since her unnies told her that they want to drive as well, she couldn't say no.

"Where are we going exactly?" Tiffany was about to ask the ice princess but saw her sleeping so she directed her question to Taeyeon who sat by the window.

"I don't know. I forgot" She answered.

"Hey. I know this place." Yuri said out of the blue.

"Then where are we going?" Tiffany asked her.

"I don't know. The road's kind of familiar but I just can't put a finger on it." She answered with creased brows.

When she looked to her right, she saw Sunny leaning on the wall staring blankly at the window. She knew that look because most of the girls would be like that when they had something bad going personally or something bad to deliver to the group. The latter was not any better choice in either of the two when it regarded Sunny.

"Sunny-ah." She called but didn't get her attention.

"Sunny-ah." She called again but this time she also patted her shoulder.

Sunny was still lost in her reverie thinking of what happened between her and Ryohei earlier. She couldn't help but guilty everytime she remembered how hurt the oppa looked. Truth be told, as cliche as any drama-romcom movie, it not him it's her.

Over the past few weeks, she's befriended the Japanese man without knowing how. Although she didn't intend to make herself too attached to the other members in the shared house, she had unknowingly left her door open and welcomed him more than the others. She even cherished him differently than the rest of the SoShi girls.

And because of that, she didn't fully trust herself that she would be able to keep him safe if she got him involved any further.

When she felt someone's hand on her shoulder, she turned her head.

"Hmm?" She turned to see Tiffany with worry etched on her face.

"What's wrong?" She asked her.

"What?" She asked in confusion.

"Yah. Lee Soon Kyu. You've been out of it since you came to the meeting place. What's with you?" Sooyoung was facing her now also with a worried expression.

"Oh. I, I was just going over the plan in my head." She lied. She didn't want to but she had to.

"Sunny." Tiffany's voice. Though she spoke softly, her eyes said she didn't believe her.

"I swear." She smiled.

"Swear on a flying cow! You're lying again." Sooyoung's tomboy side came out again.

Although the situation was a bit serious, Taeyeon and Hyoyeon couldn't help but laugh at Sooyoung's remark. With the outburst of laughters, the rest of the girls joined in waking up Jessica and Yoona forgetting the whole conversation.

They only stopped laughing a few minutes later when Seohyun told them that they'd reach the rest stop.

Divided into three groups of three, the group of Sunny, Taeyeon and Tiffany was the last group to go to the comfort room. Each group had ten minutes to do everything they needed once they entered the washroom.

After entering, Tiffany immediately asked her what it was that got her bothered and spacing out.

She's known Tiffany for far too long that she knew her style and how everything goes with her. If she didn't talk now, she knew sooner or later she'd be making her sing like a canary. So without any other choice, she started telling them both what happened between her and Ryohei earlier.

Tiffany and Taeyeon couldn't help but giggle and snicker like teenage girls when after she tells them everything. This irritated her which Tiffany clearly saw and explained why they laughed. She told her how her problem looked more like a lover's quarrel than a fight between two friends. That even annoyed her more.

"Okay, okay. We'll stop with the teasing. But seriously Sun-bun, you need to tell him your reason why you can't have him involved too much." Tiffany caressed her cheek.

"She's right. Otherwise, you'll slowly lose a friend. And I really don't want that to happen for you." Taeyeon hugged her.

"I don't know if I can, okay?" Sunny sighed. "I just think it's better if I start pushing him away before our friendship grow stronger."

"Please don't do that. He's one of the few people who got you genuinely laughing and smiling out of our circle. I don't want you losing a friend like that." Tiffany pleaded.

"She's right. You're going to regret it if you just break it off with him. From how I've seen you two, you're like, much closer than you are with any of us." Taengoo added.

Still feeling unsure, she just nodded and asked for the two to keep the conversation between them before they went back to the mini-bus.

". . . and there's 7, 8, and 9. Checked. Who's driving next?" Yoona made the count.

"I am." Sunny said as she made herself comfortable in the driver's seat. "Now people, seat you pretty butts down and let's get going. Let's go!"

Sunny arranged everything from the beginning, she didn't the others the location and told them that any sort of devices are not allowed to be brought. She herself had to check and make sure that none of them brought any.

When they reached the final stop, the sun was almost gone from the sky. Still, this didn't stop Yuri from jumping out of the bus all excited when she saw the men getting off the tractor.

"Lee Roadster abonim Village Chief!" She screamed and gave them a bear hug.

"Aigoo. It's nice to see you too." Roadster Lee said and patted the girl on the back.

One by one, the girls got down of the bus with their luggages and greeted the elders. As much as they wanted to catch up, they had to get on board to get to their lodge. The village chief had the old Yuchi-ri house prepared for them to use before they arrived.

After the location became popular, a lot of tourist came and visited but due to 'maintainance' the location, was closed for their use. It was a favor that the village head would never refuse, especially from Sunny or any of the other Yuchi-ri girls.

The two men left soon after as they helped carry the luggage and left some dishes for them to it.

"Thank you and I'm sorry for causing trouble with my favor." Sunny told the old man.

"It's okay. And just call me like you used to. I missed my Yuchi-ri daughters." Village chief said and left after giving her a hug.

The old man told her not to walk out the gate just to be sure that noone will see her when she sent them off.

When she came back, she saw the girls sitting and chatting comfortably. She was rather surprised and amused to see how casual they seem in an unfamiliar place. Since, they just arrived, Sunny, with the help of Hyoyeon volunteered to cook dinner while the rest of the girls wash up and arrange their belongings.

After dinner, that's when Sunny started getting into business. She informed the girls on what her P.I. had found out. Every single detail she reported without living anything. She then followed the explaination as to why she couldn't have them bringing any devices. That's when they started building their plans and thinking of how to comprimise if ever something causes the plan to fail.

It was a very long night for all of the girls.

RIP to Village Chief Wangu's Wife.

May you find peace whereever you are.

*N: Hello! :)

First of, after writing this one down and looking for pictures to use, I stumbled on this particular one which was captioned about the death of Mrs. Wangu. It's sad since I've watched the show repeatedly and I saw how sweet she was to all the girls. Let's all pray for them both.

     Thank you for reading. :)
