The rain kept hammering down as the sky grew darker. The two had no choice but to run as if their live depended on it. By the time they arrived at Hyun Mi’s place, they were soaked in rain. They couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculously wet their clothes were.   “Hyun Mi, you-” Dong Woo popped his head out from the other room like usual. Seeing how she wasn’t alone, he immediately froze.
  “Did you eat-” Their mom joined the conversation, but stopped at the sight of the unknown guy.
  “Anyong haseyo,” Woo Hyun took off his hat and made a polite bow. “My name is Nam Woo Hyun.”
  “How come that name sounds so familiar?” The mother asked as she wandered her eyes to the ceiling. “Ah Hyun Mi! Isn’t that the guy you like? The one you claim is your dream guy???”
  “Umma!!!!” Hyun Mi yelled in embarrassment as she walked to her mom to give her some playful pushes.
  Woo Hyun couldn’t help but grin. “I suppose that would be me,” he said.
  Dong Woo still had a confused expression on his face as he turned to his sister. “So when you said you would go out today, you meant with Nam-goon?”
  Hyun Mi bit her bottom lip and slowly gave a nod. She didn’t know whether Dong Woo would approve or not, so she just said she’ll be going out with a friend.   “It was nice to meet you, but I think I’ll have to leave soon before it gets too late.” Woo Hyun bid his farewell with a 90 degree bow.
  Hyun Mi gave him a look that told him she didn’t want to part.
  “Did you bring a car?” Dong Woo suddenly asked.
  “No, I took the bus,” Woo Hyun answered.
  “Omo, an idol taking a bus? How humble,” the mom commented in amazement.
  “It was your daughter’s idea, omonim,” Woo Hyun said.
  “Well, it’s raining outside. I don’t think it will be safe to take the bus,” Dong Woo said.
  “I’m all soaked anyway, it’s fine.” Woo Hyun smiled politely.
  As he said that, they witnessed the sky flash bright white for a millisecond through the window. A second later, they heard the thunder roll over the catastrophic sky. The four of them were immediately silenced. Everyone knew that it was definitely not fine.   “Well, why don’t you stay over here tonight?” The mom suddenly suggested as she clasped her hands together at her brilliant idea.
  “W-what?!” both Woo Hyun and Hyun Mi were shocked.
  “He can sleep in Dong Woo’s room and borrow his clothes,” she continued.
  “Yeah! My room’s pretty big!” Dong Woo seemed excited at the idea.
  “Omonim, it’s really fine. I can go back home,” Woo Hyun tried to decline the offer.
  “I insist! I don’t wanna be held responsible if you get struck by the thunder,” the mom said.
  “Umma, I don’t think that’ll happen,” Hyun Mi flattened her eyes.
  “Better safe than sorry,” she shrugged. “Dong Woo ah, show him to your room.”
  “Okay! Let’s go, Nam-goon!” Dong Woo pulled Woo Hyun with him.
  Everything happened so quickly in a flash that neither he nor Hyun Mi could decline. Woo Hyun was taken by Dong Woo as they both went upstairs.   “He’s definitely better looking than in the posters.” The mother kept nudging her daughter in a playful way.
  Now that Woo Hyun was gone, Hyun Mi started to grin like an idiot. “I know, right?” she said.
  “And are you two dating now or something?”
  “Uuhm…” Hyun Mi trailed off and avoided her mother’s gaze. “I’m not sure…”
  “Well he’d better. Not anyone can date my precious daughter.”  

 

Hyun Mi headed towards her room and immediately changed her clothes. The warm fabric felt pleasant against her icy skin. While hanging her damp dress to dry, she couldn’t help but think back of what happened that day. Every thing felt like a dream. A grin was formed across her face as she kept smiling to herself. She giggled and kept hitting the walls while letting out a small fangirl squeal.   Being a very modern girl of the 21st century, the next thing she did was turn on her laptop and log on to Facebook. She clicked towards the ‘relationship status’ and halted. Her mom did pose a very good question: are they dating? He did not officially say anything besides confessing that he liked her. Was that enough to change one’s status? She pondered on the most important issue of her life and lost track of the time.   “Hyun Mi ah!!!!”
  She could hear her mother calling her from below. Quickly, she got up from her swivel chair and opened her door. “Yes, umma?” she asked.
  “Don’t forget to provide some blankets and pillows for your idol,” her mom told her.
  “Ah, right!” Hyun Mi was so immersed with other stuff that she forgot to be a good host. She immediately went to the small storage room where they had kept all their extra pillows, blankets, and other stuff. They had quite a
