Chapter 3

I reached the bus stop ten seconds before the bus arrived. As soon as the door opened I found myself tackled in a group hug. “Guys! Believe it or not I am still human and need oxygen to survive” I coughed. I heard them laugh and they reluctantly let go of me. “Thanks! You saved a life just now” I said dramatically. “I know. We are awesome, don't you think?” CL asked coolly. “100%” “Sure thing” “Definitely” the others answered in a playful mood. My smile grew even wider (if that was even possible). “Okay let's get going. I would like to get to school before they close the gates.” I said trying to sound strict but failing completely since I was smiling too much for being severe. “Chill. We still have a lot of time left” Sandra told me. “We do have enough time but I agree with our little Youngie. Lets get going and on the way you really have to tell us why you are smiling all the time. I mean you are always quite happy but seeing you this cheerful I cant help but think something is fishy” announced Bom without even trying to hide her curiosity. “I agree. So, we are all ears. None of your secrets are safe!” Minzy proclaimed while we started walking. “Hmm. It is pretty hard to guess the cause of her happiness” Sandra said faking nescience. The other girls nodded in agreement. “There is no possibility of Myungsoo being the cause!” CL said and I started coughing. After my coughs died down I asked CL innocently how her date went this weekend. CL had a date with a trainee of JYP. “No way you can change the topic this easily! I will tell you after you said what happened with Myungsoo. Deal?” Since I was very curious how her date went I agreed. We continued walking down the streets, sharing laughter and telling stories. We always did those things when we walked together. Only the topics we talk about vary. Today we talked about boys. Well, me and CL mainly did the talking while the others threw in questions sometimes and commented the things we told them. “Hwa-Young?” Bom suddenly started with an insecure voice not far from the school. “What is it Bomi?” I asked slightly afraid of what she was going to say next and we stopped walking. But instead of Bom Minzy continued talking. “We know ...uhh... that you... like...Myungsoo a lot...but..” I grew insecure with every word they said and with every word they said I wanted to cover my ears and start singing so I won't hear them. Like little children do. Sandra took a deep breath. “But you have known him since kindergarten it isn't really surprising that...uhh...” “Can't you see that your stuttering only makes it worse?” CL asked the other three then she turned her head and looked me straight in the eye “We want to tell you that it is normal that there aren't any romantic feelings between the two of you. Please understand us. We don't want to make your life miserable but we don't want you to get hurt you know? Please take care”. I could see the concern in their eyes and I was really touched by their words. Some people might have been angry at them but I knew they were right and that they wanted just the best for me. “Hwa-Young? Are you okay? I hope you are not mad at us for saying those things! Please talk to us!” Minzy said almost desperately. I started hugging them tightly without saying anything. After I almost shocked my best friends I regained my composure and told them how much I love them and how much I appreciate their concern. “But I still think Myungsoo and I would make a perfect couple” I added after we entered the school. The other smiled and shook their head at the hopeless me. We walked to our lockers together. We had to split up there since unfortunately our lockers weren't next to each other. But at least they were on the same floor. On the way I thought about the day that was ahead of me. At first I had to survive Physics. The only subject I didn't understand at all. At every other subject I did okay but Physics -.-. I got the textbook and walked down the corridor to our class. On the way the others joined me. When we entered the classroom we looked at the clock and saw we had still 10 minutes until the lesson would start. We sat down on our seats. We all sat in the second or third row. If we sat in front we would count to the geeks but if we sat in the last row the teachers would think we were rebels. Since we wanted neither we chose seats in the second and third row. The moment we sat down Myungsoo and his friends walked in. They formed a group called “Infinite” in the first year of High School. They weren't the kingkas around here but a lot of people (especially girls) knew who “Infinite” was. They sometimes perform in school intern contests and they sang/rapped/danced GORGEOUSLY!!!! “Morning Boys” me and the girls greeted them. “Morning” they cheerfully answered before sitting down in their seats. Myungsoo, of course, sat next to me. “I never got to ask you why you didn't hang up after I fell asleep” I said while resting my head on my palm and looking at him. He copied my pose and answered “Because of your steady breathing I was tired myself and didn't feel like hanging up” a few seconds no one of us talked. “Besides why would you be the only one who has the privilege to be put to sleep. You fall asleep when I sing and I fall asleep if I hear your constant breathing” he added with his trademark smile. I couldn't help but smiling back at him and said “Okay. Explanation accepted”. “You are too generous ma'am” Myungsoo laughed. I couldn't help but joining him. “I know” I said when the laughers had died down. Without me noticing the 10 minutes had passed and our teacher walked in. He looked kind of grumpy. “Good Morning Mr Lee” the class chorused. “Good Morning class. Take your textbooks out and do number 1 to 15 on page 163 now. I will collect a few sheets after this lesson is over.” he answered making the class sigh in discontent. I opened my textbook and started solving the exercises he had assigned us. I looked at the first question and knew I had a loooong lesson ahead of me. After rereading number 1 five-times I still didn't get it.  Luckily Myungsoo saw my misery and started showing me papers with solutions.

I will try to update as often as possible but I have a lot other things going on so please show some understanding when I won't update.
