Everyone gasped when a young mistress Jung, the elder of the two Jung daughters, burst through the door of the open conference hall. The executives’ eyes bulged and their jaws dropped once they registered Jessica’s black leather jacket and rugged look as the young mistress unceremoniously trotted over to the head of the table; where a surprised Krystal sat in an identical black ensemble.

“Sorry to interrupt the meeting, but I’m here to bring my dongsaeng’s food.” Jessica announced as she walked over to where her sister was seated; ignoring the curious eyes and surprised stares on her.

Krystal, whom everyone in the room got used to seeing in her usual biker’s outfit, sat speechless at the sight of her sister sporting a getup out of their subordinates’ imagination. “You didn’t have to bring me food, Jess.” She mumbled as she sat mouth agape. The older Jung merely patted her head affectionately; placing the bag of food on the table before her sister.

Eyes scanned the room, noting the familiar people with their shocked expressions and Jessica almost chuckled aloud at the comical sight. The board of directors was used to seeing a prim and proper young mistress Jessica Jung, while they were used to Krystal’s simple yet chic look; they were even familiar with the youngest Jung’s borderline hobo or gangster getup.

Hands akimbo, Jessica straightened herself before the respectable men and women in the hall. “Let’s get back to business then.” A secretary pushes up another chair for her and the blonde Jung seated herself beside her sister. The meeting resumed as the Jung sisters listened to all of the projects put in motion within the company, both taking to mind the changes should the merging of the Kim and Jung Empire take place in the succeeding few months.

Despite their unconventional attires, the sisters were still all business, possessing the authorities of future heiresses that would soon take the reins of their family’s business empire. Krystal had made a lot of suggestions - good ones for the board; and the older subordinates could not help but admire the aspiring business undergraduate from London.

“So, what happens with the merging, young mistresses?” One of the older directors questioned, clearly bothered by the shift in their positions in the business. Jessica remained quiet, eyes shifting to her sister who seemed to be anticipating the question beforehand. Krystal clasped her hands above the table and leaned forward with a serious expression.

“My sister and I have talked about this yesterday. It is inevitable that there would be shifts in power as you all have positions similar to those in the other conglomerate that we are planning to merge with. I will talk to Grandmaster Jung about this problem and perhaps, he could relay our worries to the other company’s head as well.”

“Thank you, young mistress.”

Jessica sat, impressed with her sister’s quick wit and sharp mind. The meeting went through smoothly with the directors discussing the cousins’ incoming launch of Jes.Ti.Na. Krystal took the lead through the project, updating the directors of the line’s products as well as the steps on marketing and logistics. Everyone gave a unanimous vote in favor of the line’s launch, making Jessica smile proudly at her sister’s success in convincing the directors.

The meeting adjourned just a little past-1pm with the older men and women congratulating Krystal and inviting their young mistresses to have lunch with them, which the sisters politely declined. Krystal gave a long exhale once the doors closed on her and her older sibling. She leaned back into the chair, closing her eyes as the cool breeze of the open conference hall swept past them.

Fingers combed through Krystal’s hair, making her release a sigh. “You did great, baby. But I think you need to eat your brunch now. The food I brought has probably gone cold…” Krystal opened her eyes to see her sister with a worried face. “You left the house without eating breakfast, Soojung…”
