Choi Sooyoung was tired. He had just left the Kim ancestral home and now here he was, stuck in a business meeting with the board of directors from the company. Three empty cups of coffee were sitting in front of him much to the amazement of his colleagues who were seated with him as their facilitator droned of the agenda and the plans for the company’s artists.

Their president and CEO, Mr. Lee, was sitting at the end of the board room paying strict attention to the details being laid out.

“And now, we go to the topic of one of our esteemed artists in the company, Mr. Kim Taeyeon. We all know of the news that broke out awhile ago and the media has been asking for answers…” Their reporter stated. Everyone’s eyes turned to the tall young man seated a few seats away from the CEO’s chair. Mr. Lee gave Sooyoung his undivided attention as everyone else waited for the young manager to speak.

Sooyoung cleared his throat as he prepared a speech that he had mentally composed a few moments before the meeting began. “Well, I have just gotten back from the Kim household and Mr. Kim Taeyeon has denied on the allegations.”

“But the pictures were too good to be true. How will we respond to the media’s uproar?”

Sooyoung saw it coming. He knew they would come to that point. He wasn’t stupid to ignore the fact that was already presented before him but he needed to protect Taeyeon and Jessica. He is Taeyeon’s manager after all.

“Taeyeon just called Ms. Jung’s attention at that time since her parents have been seeking her. Being the gracious owner of the prestigious club, Taeyeon needed to be courteous to such patrons of his establishment.”

His statement received ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’. Even the company’s CEO was amazed upon the revelation coming from the one of his artist’s managers.

“And recently, we have a contract with the Jung Empire. Their company has taken an interest in taking Taeyeon as their endorser for their mall. The one who requested it was Ms. Jung Jessica herself. The Kim Empire has given a notice of agreement to it as well. Isn’t this quite a coincidence since the rumors of the two heirs of the two great conglomerates began?”

Sooyoung feigned a chuckle although he knows the real reason behind these occurrences. He knew that Jessica settled the contract before they got engaged and he knows that the Kims supported it since it would benefit the two companies when they choose to merge.

“You’re thinking too much.” Sooyoung said after he ended his laughing fit. “Ms. Jung knows how to move mountains. You should have realized by now that she is a genius in the business world. She knows that our KTY can attract attention so she’s not passing up the opportunity for good business deals.”

The board nodded in agreement. Mr. Lee was impressed of the young manager. He was about to compliment the Choi when an assistant entered the room to inform him of something. After hearing out his assistant, he cleared his throat earning everyone’s attention.

“Carry on with the meeting without me. Great job, Mr. Choi. I’m excusing myself for an important meeting with someone outside. Do carry on, everyone.” Mr. Lee declared as he stood up and exited the board room leaving everyone to themselves.

With a sigh, Sooyoung turned his attention to the boring topics of the board. He was not cut out for this. ‘This will be a long meeting…’ He thought as he glanced at his watch registering that it was still three in the morning. ‘And I haven’t slept yet. Sheesh!’

Mr. Lee just got out from the board meeting room eager to meet a family member that had just returned home. He headed towards his office and found a petite blonde-haired young woman sitting on his couch busy playing a game in her phone.

“I’m surprised you suddenly went home without even calling me.” Mr. Lee said earning the blonde’s attention.

“I just wanted to surprise you, uncle.” The young woman chuckled as she stood up to greet her uncle with a warm hug.

“Welcome home, Soonkyu.” Mr. Lee said as he returned the young woman’s hug.

“Uncle! How many times did I tell you to call me Sunny! Soonkyu sounds old…”

Her uncle could only laugh at his niece’s adorable complaint. “But you’re in Korea now…So, it’s just fitting to call you by your Korean name.”

“I should never have come back here…” Sunny huffed.

“You don’t mean it…” Mr. Lee smiled.

He knew his niece to well. “You’re so sharp, uncle…” Sunny chuckled as they both settled down for tea on the two couches that faced each other with a mahogany table at the center.

“How was America?” Mr. Lee asked as he took his cup of tea.

“It was nice, uncle. I bunked with Dr. Hwang when I was staying over there. I think you know her…”

“Oh… Dr. Hwang? You mean the Hwang heiress?”

“Yep. The cousin of Actress Im… Man, even Actress Im Yoona is known in the States. Some of her movies are even shown in some of the theaters there…”
