For the Better...
His Vow vs. His LoyaltyThe ambulance came and loaded Niddie into the back. "Pim stay here and wait for her parents. I'll go with her. This is my number...call me when you guys are at the hospital." Pim nodded and took his business card. She watched with teary eyes, as Niddie laid on the gurney unconscious. How could she not see how bad things really were with Niddie? The ambulance drove off and she sat on the step waiting for her parents to return after making an unsuccessful call to them, she clutched the business card to her chest.
Vit and Pat arrived to find Pim sitting outside on the steps. "Pim what's wrong?" Pat asked her. Pim looked up at her, eyes all puffy and face all red from crying.
"Pim are you ok?" Vit asked.
Pim shook her head no. "Niddie went to the hospital."
"WHAT?!" Pat and Vit exclaimed at the same time.
"I'm soo sorry, how could I not see? Golf was here and she passed out, he went to the hospital with her." Pim explained, handing his card to them.
"What was that jerk doing here? Did he do something to her?!" Pat asked.
"I don't think so...he looked really concerned." Pim said confused.
"That little...anyways c'mon let's get to the hospital." Vit and Pat got into the car again, they turned around, "Aren't you coming Pim?"
She shook her head no, "I can't...I...," she couldn't finish.
Pat walked over to her. "Honey you didn't know how bad she was...neither did we. C'mon you have to be there with us. You're like a sister to Niddie."
Pim nodded her head and and Pat helped her into the car and they sped off to the hospital. Once they got to the hospital Pat called Golf's cell phone. "Hello? Hi Golf, honey where are you?" Once she got the information she hung up. "Room 103."
"Why are you being nice to the brat?" Vit asked.
"Because, he's our best friends son. Not only that but I think deep down he's a good kid. Just confused...," she said sticking up for Golf.
"I guess. I'm not going to be nice to him."
"Liar, you're a big teddy bear." Vit huffed at his wife's comment as they made their way to Niddie's room.
They walked in quietly, Golf didn't seem to hear them. They watched as he sat next to Niddie's bed his head in his hands. Pat walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and Pat could see that he had been crying.
"Are you ok?" She asked him.
He nodded his head. He stood up, "I guess I'll go now." He took another look at Niddie and turned around to leave.
"Golf make sure you come back ok? I'm going to need someone to look after Niddie tonight."
Golf looked at her shocked, "Really?" She nodded and smiled. "Ok I'll be back in about two hours." He said excitedly and left.
"What are you doing?" Vit asked, "Pim
