Flight Risk.
His Vow vs. His LoyaltyThe party passed without any incidents and people forgot about Niddie by the end of the night. Those who did remembered about her were just told that she was sick and retired to bed early. Kon was given many blessing for his weddings and he was given much grief from all those who wanted him to be apart of their family. Mike went to bed exhausted, watching over these parties were harder than going out on missions.
The next morning Emi went to Niddie's room, she was already in the shower. Emi was disappointed to find the food sitting on the coffee table untouched. She sighed and cleaned it up. As she walked down the stairway with the food, she was met by Mike who was making his way up. "Where did that come from?"
She sighed and turned to look at Niddie's room.
"She didn't even touch it? She told me she would eat it. What the hell is she trying to do..kill herself?!" Mike asked angrily.
Emi just shrugged and walked by Mike to take the plate to the kitchen. "Whatever, I'm only supposed to watch her if other people try to kill her. Not if she tries to kill herself." Mike said angrily and took his seat in front of her door.
Niddie walked out a couple minutes later in jeans and t-shirt. Mike glared at her and she gave him a blank stare back. His look was so intense and angry that she had to look away.
"Can you take me to the hospital? I want to go visit someone." She asked still not looking at him.
"Yes ma'am." He said stressing 'ma'am'. She looked at him with annoyance and trudged down the steps.
Emi caught up with them as they were about to walk out the door, "Where are you going Niddie?"
"Out."
"But aren't you going to have breakfast?" Emi asked worriedly. Niddie smiled and shook her head no. Emi just nodded and watched her mistress walk out the door. She looked at Mike who just shrugged at her.
"We'll be back later. If Kon asks we're going to a hospital so that she can visit a friend." Mike told her, she nodded and watched them as they got into the car and drove off.
Niddie walked into the hospital, as scary as this place was, it comforted her a bit. It was her connection to her 'old' life, before Kon took her away. She didn't think as she walked to the room. Her body just knew where to go. She opened the door, "UNCLE PISAT?!" She said looking at a frail man sitting on a chair next to Vipada's bed.
Pisat stood up. "Niddie?!" She ran over to him and hugged him. "Oh my girl, we were soo worried about you. I am so sorry he took you away." Niddie cried into his arms. "If only I had another son to marry you off to huh? At least you wouldn't have to leave us."
"I miss you and aunty and mom and dad so much." He patted her back as tears slid down his face as well. Once they were both done Niddie pulled away, "How come you're here?"
He sighed, "Aunty isn't doing so well. Even though you've been absent only 2 days her health took a turn for the worse. They're afraid she won't make it. They said that I should be prepared to pull..." He couldn't finish his sentence as he choked up on his words. Niddie hugged him. He let her go, "You better let her know you're here, hopefully it will change things."
Niddie nodded and took her seat next to the bed. She instantly grabbed Vipada's hand. She held it to her face. "Aunty don't leave me and uncle yet. We still need you. I'm not ready to say goodbye to you yet...I haven't even properly said goodbye to Golf yet. I can't lose you too. I'm sorry I haven't been able to come visit. A lot of things have happened in the past two days. Even if I can't come see you everyday don't give up on me please."
Pisat walked out of the room to give Niddie alone time. A tall young man stood before him, leaning against the opposite wall. He was dressed in an all black suit. His shoulder length, shaggy dragon cut hair made him mysterious and brooding. His arms were crossed and they stared at each other.
"Who are you? Have we met before?" Uncle Pisat asked the young man, a feeling of nostalgia overcoming him as he looked into the younger man's eyes.
"I'm Niddie's personal bodyguard and I was at your son's wedding last year. I'm sorry about your loss." Mike answer
