***Donghae’s POV***

I officially felt like dying.

I have been in Taiwan for two weeks now and I was kept busy by filming basically everyday from morning till night.

We had a tight schedule since we had to be finished with this drama by the end of the months, so we could return to Korea for our next single to be released.

I was lying on my bed trying my best to fall asleep, but just as the last nights I ended up turning and tossing.

When I heard a soft knocking on my door I sighed tiredly and rubbed my face.

“Neh?” I asked tiredly.

The door opened and I could see Lin standing in the door with a mug in her hand.

“Hae-ya, still unable to sleep?” she asked worried.

I sat up and sighed.

“How did you know about that?”

She chuckled and walked up to my bed and sat down.

“I’m not stupid! I saw the light glowing under your door basically every night! And actually I could hear you walking around!”

I chuckled.

“So, you didn’t sleep that well as well I guess!”

Lin blushed.

“Well, I guess…”

I nudged her.

“You are missing Hyukie, right?”

She nodded a bit awkward.

“Just call him, you know!”

She groaned.

“I can’t!”

I chuckled.

“Wae?”

“Well you know…”

She stopped and I waited for her to continue.

“I know what?”

She face palmed herself and mumbled something I didn’t catch.

I pulled away her hands.

“What was that again?”

She blushed.

“I said something to him the last time we talked over the phone!”

I had to laugh on the inside.

I knew what she was talking about.

“When he called in panic because of Amber?”

She groaned.

“No, that one doesn’t count as we just talked about Amber and didn’t really have the time to talk about anything else!”

“Ah, so must have been the night that Yalun guy kissed you!” I said a little pissed thinking about it.

“How did you know about that?” she asked in horror.

I sighed and then chuckled.

“Hyukie and I are friends, remember?”

Lin blushed even harder.

“So did he tell you anything else I told him that night?”

I grinned.

Lin was adorable when she was embarrassed, reminded me a lot of Hyukie.

“About you saying “I love you” for the first time?” I asked amused.

She groaned.

“I’m such an idiot for saying that! And now everything is awkward!”

I rolled my eyes.

“Wae?”

“Because he didn’t say anything back!”

“Well, you didn’t really give him the time!” I tried to reason.

She looked at me in shock.

“Did he say anything to you?”

I held up my hand in defense.

“Hey, I can’t and won’t say anything about this to you!”

She hit my shoulder.

I chuckled at her fail attempt to hurt me.

“You are such an , Hae-ya!”

“Well, all I’m going to say is: Call him, Lin-ah!”

She sighed.

“Maybe I will…tomorrow…or the day after that!”

I rolled my eyes.

“Just don’t wait too long, he misses you, too!”

She blushed again.

“Did he say anything to you?”

I grinned.

“Nope, but Teukie-hyung did, Heechul-hyung did, Yesungie-hyung did, Wookie did, Shindong-hyung did, Sungmin-hyung did, Kangin-hyung did, Kibum did, Henry did, Zhou Mi did and Kyuhyun did, too!”

“Aiyo, just…argh…I will go back to bed now. I just wanted to bring you a mug of hot milk. Maybe it will help. The stylists are already complaining about your dark circles under your eyes!”

With that Lin stood up and left my room.

I chuckled slightly.

Hyukjae told me that Lin was avoiding his calls and he had a secret plan to stop that as he really was going crazy.

The two of them were so cute.

I drank the milk and settled back down in the pillows.

I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to arrive.

FAIL!

I groaned and hid my face beneath my pillow.

Why wouldn’t I fall asleep in other countries, especially without the other members around?

I reached out for my mobile lazily and checked out some news and my twitter.

Some of the guys wrote some news about attending a performance today, missing their members Donghae, Siwon and Hangeng!

I twittered about missing them, too.

It just took fans seconds to see the message and reply.

I had to smile about the encouraging words.

I frowned when I read a message by “Brina”

“Go to bed already! Didn’t the milk help?”

I chuckled.

That PA is such a fan!

I replied "@brina go to bed yourself, fan! ^^”

I was startled when my mobile suddenly started to ring.

I checked the caller ID and I felt a small smile appearing on my lips.

I answered the call.

“Hey!” I said happily.

“Hey, yourself!”

I heard a cute chuckle on the other end.

My heart beat sped up.

I loved to hear that chuckle.

Over the last month I grew to love it so much that I always hoped for another call to hear it again.

There was a short comfortable silence and I could hear her breathing.

“Brina called me!”

I chuckled.

“Why?” I asked.

“Are you having trouble to sleep, Hae-ya?” Melanie asked amused.

“No!” I immediately replied.

She chuckled again.

“So it’s actually normal for you to be awake at 3am in the morning?”

I sighed.

“Well, no, but…”

I broke off and snuggled into my pillows.

“But what?” Melanie asked.

I groaned.

“It’s embarrassing!”

I heard her laugh.

“What is it?”

I closed my eyes hearing her laughter.

It was a beautiful sound.

“I feel like, I’m behaving like a kid!”

“No, a lot of people dislike sleeping while away from home!”

Did I ever mention that I really loved Melanie’s voice?

It was such a clear melodious voice, captivating and soothing.

“I just…everything feels wrong here! My pillow is too soft, the mattress too hard, it smells odd and the sounds are foreign!” I mumbled.

“Who are you, “The Princess and the Pea“?”

I furrowed my brows.

“Who?”

I heard Mel gasp in fake horror.

“You don’t know “The Princess and the Pea“?“

I chuckled softly.

“Annyio, but I’m sure I’m no princess! I would prefer to be a prince!”

She snorted.

“The prince of the fishes I assume!”

I smiled, snuggling deeper into my pillow.

“Fishes are beautiful so I guess I won’t say no to that title!”

“You are such a nerd!”

“Says the girl who is in love with fairytales!”

“Just because you don’t know “The Princess and the Pea“, doesn’t mean fairytales are nerdy!“

I chuckled.

“Well, then tell me about “The Princess and the Pea“, so I don’t have to feel clueless anymore!”

Now it was her turn to chuckle.

“I don’t know,” she hesitated.

“Come on, tell me!” I asked in a low voice, feeling all relaxed.

“You sound like you will fall asleep on me!”

I smiled, my eyes still closed.

“I won’t! Remember? I can’t sleep in foreign countries!”

“You don’t sound like you are really awake right now,” Melanie said dubiously.

“I promise I won’t fall asleep!” I said amused, trying to stifle a yawn.

“Well, if you fall asleep I won’t call you for at least two weeks!” she threatened.

I chuckled.

“Don’t worry, I won’t!”

She sighed.

“Well, alright then!”

She cleared and I smiled because of her cute act.

“Once upon a time there was a prince…”

“See, that’s me! I’m the prince!”

“Will you be silent? I’m trying to tell a story here!”

I chuckled.

“Mianhae! Go on!”

I pulled my blanket over my body and settled down in a comfortable position.

“The prince really wanted to marry so he tried his best to find a real princess!”

I grinned.

“The prince must be me!”

“Aiyo, will you shut up already?”

“Sorry, continue!”

She sighed.

“The prince went out to the world and found a lot of princesses but he actually couldn’t really be sure if they are real princesses!”

“Well, that’s really hard! He should try that these days! Not so many princesses around…,” I mumbled, rubbing my eyes.

“Aiyo, Lee Donghae, stop cutting into my story!”

“Mianhae,” I said with a yawn.

“Well, the prince returned home eventually, feeling all upset because he didn’t find a wife!”

There was a short break.

Eventually I got irritated.

“Why did you stop?” I asked.

She chuckled.

“Sorry, I was waiting for one of your comments!”

I smiled.

“I won’t disturb your storytelling anymore!” I mumbled, actually feeling really tired all out of sudden.

“Well one night, it was raining horribly, there was someone knocking at the door of the prince’s castle!”

“Was it an evil sorcerer?” I asked yawning slightly.

Mel giggled.

“I knew you couldn’t actually stop interrupting!”

“Oh, I did? Well, I guess…sorry?” I tried to sooth her, but I guess I was barely audible as I kept on yawning.

“Shall I continue?” Melanie asked amused.

“Of course, go on…,” I replied tiredly.

“Well, in fact, Lee Donghae, it wasn’t an evil sorcerer that knocked that night. It was a beautiful girl all wet and shivering from the cold!”

“Uh-hum…,” I agreed and put Melanie on the speaker as I was too lazy to hold my mobile any longer.

“The prince let the beautiful girl in, as he fell in love with her on first sight!”

“Sounds good,” I mumbled, thinking of the picture of Melanie, that Lin kept in her apartment back home.

I thought about her cute chuckle.

I thought about her soothing voice.

I smiled thinking about her great sense of humor.

“And she died on the spot!”

“That’s nice!” I snuggled into the pillows.

I tried to imagine her hand in mine.

I tried to imagine the feeling of running my hands through her smooth golden hair.

I tried to imagine feeling her skin touching mine.

“The prince laughed at her dead body!”

“Uh-hum,” I hummed and nodded slightly.

Her beautiful blue eyes!

Her soft lips!

My arms around her hips!

“And then an evil sorcerer came along to spit at the prince’s face!”

I just hummed.

How would it feel to taste her rosy lips?

“Good night, Donghae!” I heard her mumble, before I drifted off to sleep.

***Melanie’s POV***

I had to shake my head over that guy.

“Good night, Donghae!” I mumbled amused.

I could hear his even breathing through the phone.

I snorted before putting him on speaker.

“How dare he fall asleep on me?” I mumbled faking annoyance.

I smiled thinking about a sleeping Donghae, probably with the phone still next to him.

Adorable!

He must have been very tired.

I listened to his even breathing for a while, grinning.

He made the cutest noises while sleeping.

Earlier Sabrina gave me a call, telling me about being worried for Donghae as he never seemed able to sleep.

Well, he didn’t really seem to have problems with sleeping!

I shook my head again.

It didn’t take me long to notice that his breathing slowed down more and more while talking to me.

His replies got less and less audible, sounding more and more mumbled than really spoken.

There was no way to not hear his increasing yawning.

But he won’t fall asleep, right?

I chuckled.

I turned my attention to the messenger that was blinking on the screen of my laptop.

Sabrina was online now and asked me about Donghae.

I typed a quick reply.

Mel: Seems to be asleep now. Maybe you can switch off his phone as he fell asleep in the middle of the conversation! ^^”

Brina: For real? O_O

Mel: Obviously as he isn’t replying anymore!

Brina: What did you do? Send someone to knock him unconscious?

Mel: Nope. He fell asleep on me while I was telling him a story! RUDE!!!

Brina: LOL! Must be the power of love!

Mel: As if! More like he was so tired that he would have fallen asleep anyway!

Brina: No, I’m sure he wouldn’t sleep by now, if it wouldn’t be for you! He kept on going without sleep for a week now! Just an hour here or there in between filming breaks! Must be the power of love! ^^

I felt a warm feeling spreading inside my body.

Maybe….just maybe…

I shook my head.

Probably not

Mel: You should go to his room and end the phone call!

Brina: Are you still listening to him sleeping?

Mel: *blushes*

I actually still couldn’t bring myself to end the call as it was somewhat cute to listen to it.

He was humming once in a while and I could feel a smile spreading on my lips every time he did.

Brina: Ha! I knew it! NERD! Well, I don’t want to risk to wake him up by sneaking into his room! I guess you will have the pleasure to listen to him sleeping until he wakes up :P

Mel: That will be an expensive call!

Brina: Your decision :P

Mel: MEAN! You know I can’t resist!

Brina: Then don’t… he likes you ^^

Mel: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees, that’s what you and Hyukjae keep on telling me, but I’m sure he just likes me as a friend!

Brina: TSK! You and your negative thoughts!

Mel: That’s me!

Brina: Brainfart!

Mel: Bla! Go to sleep already!

Brina: *sighs* Can’t!

Mel: Why?

Brina: *blushes* well…I can’t sleep!

Mel: And here you are all worried about Donghae when you yourself can’t fall asleep!

Brina: Well…I’m missing someone!

Mel: Aw…maybe you should just give him a call!

I rolled my eyes.

Sabrina was avoiding Hyukjae’s calls for almost two weeks now because she was too embarrassed about her love confession.

So stupid!

Brina: Aiyo, I can’t! SO EMBARRASSING! -.-

Mel: BRAINFART!

Brina: aiyo…you are annoying!

Mel: No, you are :P

Brina: BRB…someone is on the door!

Mel: WTH? Who would be on the door at almost 4AM? Don’t open, it might be a murderer!

Brina: LOL! BRB!

Mel: Whatever…back to listening to Donghae’s sleep! I’m such a nerdy stalker ^^

***Lin’s POV***

I walked out of my room with a small grin.

Mel was so funny, but her still denying that Donghae has feelings for her, after flirting over the phone for more than a month was just stupid.

I came across Donghae’s bedroom door.

I stopped for a moment and opened the door carefully to look inside.

I had to smile as Donghae was asleep with a cute smile on his face.

I switched off the light and closed the door as quietly as possible.

KNOCK, KNOCK!

I furrowed my brows.

Mel was right.

Who the hell would be knocking at 4AM in the morning?

Well, I’m sure it wasn’t a murderer as this building was highly guarded and the security wouldn’t let anyone pass without having the allowance to do so maybe a manager or someone like that.

I walked over to the door quickly as another knocking was heard, louder this time!

Did that person want to wake everyone up?

When I opened the door I had to blink like an idiot at what I saw.

I rubbed my eyes.

I blinked again.

“Hey!”

It was the most beautiful word I heard in a while.

There he was, leaning against the doorframe tiredly, but so damn attractive.

His hair was messy and fell into his eyes.

His clothes were all wrinkled and disheveled.

I leaned against the door, probably smiling like an idiot.

“Hey! What are you doing here?” I asked quietly, careful not to wake anyone up.

He sighed and put his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans.

“I couldn’t take it anymore! I was just so tired!” he mumbled nervously.

I smiled at him.

“What is it with everyone being unable to sleep?”

He glared at me slightly and I chuckled.

“It’s your fault, you know!”

“How is it my fault?”

He groaned.

“Because… I… grew accustomed to having you next to me while sleeping!”

I smiled and let go of the door to walk up to him.

He watched my every movement.

I reached out to wipe away the hair from his eyes carefully to be able to look at them.

I touched the dark circles under his eyes.

He chuckled and did the same to me.

“You have them, too, you know!”

I blushed and caressed his cheeks.

“I missed my terribly attractive boyfriend!”

He took my face between his hands too and looked at me closely.

“I missed you, too!” he said before leaning in to kiss me softly.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him closer.

He walked me inside the apartment never stopping to kiss me.

“You didn’t call me!” he said accusing in between some frantic kisses.

“Mianhae, I just…I didn’t know…aish…I felt embarrassed!” I said blushing.

He kissed me again.

“You are an idiot!” he said annoyed.

“Wae?” I asked breathless as he didn’t ever stop kissing me for longer than a few seconds.

He pushed me a little bit away to make me look into his eyes.

The most beautiful eyes in this world!

“Because I love you, too, pabo! So stop avoiding me! It’s killing me!” he said sincerely but a little bit annoyed.

I was shocked and didn’t know how to react, but he didn’t give me the time to do anything as he kissed me again.

Eventually I pushed him away a little.

“Wait! What?” I asked irritated.

He smiled his gummy smile at me and made my heart beat sped up.

He pecked me on my lips a few times, before leaning his forehead against mine.

“I said, I love you, you pabo!”

I blinked like an idiot for a while before a big smile finally spread on my lips.

I raised myself to the tip of my toes and kissed him.

It was such a sweet kiss as we both smiled into it.

I felt him lifting me up from the ground and I slung my legs around his waist.

“So, where is your room?” he whispered with a smile.

I chuckled.

“Naughty!”

He blushed.

“Just to sleep, I’m so damn tired!”

I laughed silently.

“Just straight down the hallway!”

He nodded and started to walk in that direction.

Leave it to his clumsy self to hit a table with his leg.

“Ow, that really hurt!”

I buried my face in his neck to stifle my laughter.

“Aiyo, you just keep on laughing. The revenge will be evil!”

I grinned and started to plant small kisses all over his neck.

I could feel him shiver.

“Yah, that’s not fair, you are trying to distract me!”

I bit down on his skin softly.

He walked faster and opened my room door quickly to let us in.

“You are playing dirty!”

I chuckled.

“Sorry, I just missed you and your neck is very tempting!”

He chuckled.

“Tempting, huh?”

He walked to the bed and let me down.

He forced me to lie back down by crawling on top of me.

I felt myself becoming nervous.

“Hyukie?” I asked breathlessly.

He smiled at me almost dangerously and kissed me hungrily.

His suddenly passionate behavior caught me by surprise.

His tongue slipped into my mouth and I couldn’t help but moan.

I shivered when I felt his hands travelling over my body, finally caressing the skin over my hipbones.

I closed my eyes feeling the sensation.

When he finally let go of my mouth we both were breathing hard trying to catch some air.

“You are the one tempting me,” he whispered before kissing my forehead softly.

I chuckled.

“Come on, tempter, let’s go to bed. Eventually we will catch two hours of sleep!”

He sighed and we both got comfortable on my bed.

Hyukjae pulled me into his arms and I laid my head down on his chest.

He kissed the top of my head and I closed my eyes.

We laid there in silence for a while, until a thought crossed my mind.

I sat up in horror.

“What the hell are you doing here, Sparky?” I asked shocked.

He looked at me and started chuckling.

“Visiting my girlfriend?”

I groaned.

“No, yes, but I meant: What are you doing here? You are supposed to be in Korea! How did you get here? Who will be on Sukira tomorrow? What did you tell the managers?”

He chuckled and pulled me back into my arms.

“Like I said, I’m visiting my girlfriend! I took the last plane right after Sukira last night! The other members will fill in for me the next two days and actually Teukie told the managers that Donghae has some major problems sleeping so it might be a good idea for them to send me to cheer him up!”

I shook my head.

“Donghae won’t like that!”

Hyukjae grinned.

“He is my bff! He will be happy to know that he was of help for me!”

I frowned and he kissed my forehead.

“Stop worrying!”

“What did the other members say? Aren’t they unhappy to do your load of work now, too?”

Hyukjae blushed slightly.

“Uhm, no!” he mumbled.

I raised my brows.

“What’s with the funny reaction?”

He blushed even more and mumbled something.

“What? I didn’t get that one!” I said a little amused.

“They kicked me out!”

“They did what?” I asked shocked.

Hyukjae groaned.

“They kicked me out, because I was unbearable with you not around and not calling!”

“So they kicked you out?” I shook my head in confusion.

“Well, that or they told me, they would go to Taiwan to get away from me!”

I blinked at him before I started to giggle.

“Stop giggling. Rest assured Kyuhyun, Heechul and Amber would have been the first ones on that plane!”

I couldn’t help myself, I had to laugh.

“Kyuhyun was actually packing!”

I laughed out loud.

“Stop laughing, you evil girlfriend of mine!”

He started tickling me, which set me off even worse.

He tickled me merciless and we rolled around on my bed.

Eventually he stopped and caught my lips in another heated kiss.

“I love you,” he said softly, when he let go of my lips.

“I love you, too,” I replied kissing him one last time, before snuggling into his embrace.

“Good night!” he mumbled.

“Night!” I said with a smile on my lips, before I finally fell asleep.
