She Is Feisty
Just A Phone Call Away***Donghae’s POV***
I lay awake in my bed.
Somehow, even though we went to bed late last night, or should I say early this morning, I was already awake.
I looked at the clock on my nightstand.
5:30 am.
I let out a groan.
Someone will come and wake us up soon.
I stared at the ceiling thinking about all that had happened.
Lin-ah, she has happened.
I wasn’t sure if that’s a good thing or if it meant trouble.
Honestly she seemed to be nice, very nice and funny, not to mention she is beautiful.
She took great care of Hyukjae the day before without really knowing him.
As a personal assistant she will most definitely do a great job.
Everyone seemed to like her a lot.
But did I?
Take me as a weird person, but I don’t like girls to get close to our whole group.
I like girls, don’t get me wrong, but girls being near to all of us usually meant trouble.
Jealousy and fights, that’s what it usually leads to.
One or two or even more of the members will fall in love and then there will be misunderstandings, angry words and tears.
I hated that, not the girls.
It’s really hard to manage to stay together in such a large group without having big fights and starting to hate each other, especially with some of the members having more success than others.
We’re still a group and care for each other.
I didn’t want to loose that.
I sighed.
It’s sad, but out of fear to be involved in the later mess that can result out of girls getting close to us, I usually try to stay away from those girls.
I didn’t want to relive our experience after the filming of "Full House".
Some of the guys, especially Heechul, Siwon, Hyukjae and I fought a lot over Anya back then.
It caused me and Hyukjae to be on bad terms for about three months.
It was one of the worst times of my life.
Hyukjae and I have been best friends for around ten years now.
Back then we could save our friendship, but what will happen the next time?
I could already sense that Hyukjae was developing some feelings for Lin, so I would definitely have to stay away from her.
I hated it, because I already felt sorry to her.
She has to work with us and me staying away from her will probably make her think, that I don’t like her.
It couldn’t be helped.
The friendship between our members was more important to me.
I sighed again and then decided to get out of bed.
I looked over to Teukie-hyung.
A smile appeared on my face, already feeling bad for the person who had to wake him up.
I walked across the room and was about to open the door to go for the bathroom, when the door suddenly flew open with a bang, hitting me right in the face.
I stumbled backwards, holding my nose.
It hurt very badly.
I could hear someone running away laughing and then some footsteps nearing the room.
"Aish, you guys, I asked you to wake them up nicely, not to shock them to death!"
That had to be Lin’s voice.
I couldn’t see her right now as my nose was hurting too much.
I wasn’t able to open my eyes, yet.
Tears were welling up in my eyes.
Damn, that hurt!
"Oh my goodness, Donghae-shi, what happened to you? Are you alright?" Lin asked worried.
She came over and kneeled down next to me.
I haven’t even realized that I had sat down on the floor.
"You’re bleeding! What happened?"
I fought my lids open and looked at her.
She seemed really worried.
"The door, it hit me," I whispered.
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and then opened them again.
An angry fire had appeared in her eyes.
It was frightening, but somehow impressive.
"Those guys," she whispered madly.
"Here, let me help you!"
She pulled my hand away from my face to cover my nose with a tissue.
"Can you stand up?" she asked.
I nodded my head and then she helped me up.
I felt slightly dizzy.
"Let’s go to the living room to take a look at your nose."
We made our way to the living room and she made me sit down on the couch.
"What happened to you, Hyung?"
Kibum, who had slept over at our apartment, walked sleepily out of his room.
"Kibum-ah, could you go and find Kangin Oppa and Heechul Oppa for me? I want them in the living room. Right now!" Lin said in a scary calm voice.
Kibum nodded and left the room in search of his hyungs.
Lin stood before me.
"Lean your head back, Donghae-shi," she ordered softly.
I did and she left for the kitchen.
"Really, you guys should have a pharmacy in this building, being ill and hurt all the time," she said while rummaging through the freezer.
"We’re normally not like that!" I defended our group.
She came back with some ice and a towel.
"You’re not?" she asked smiling at me.
I sighed, "Maybe we are, a bit."
She laughed.
"Okay, lift up the tissue and let me take a look at your nose."
I did as told and she furrowed her brows.
"It’s worse than I thought! Maybe we should go see a doctor. It could be broken!"
Great, so much for my plan to keep my distance with her.
"I have to bring some water to clean up the blood!"
I nodded and she left to bring a bowl of water.
I sighed.
Damn, why did she have to be so nice?
She came back with the bowl and stood between my legs.
I gulped.
She picked up the towel to wet it and then took my chin in her hand to make me look up at her.
She started to clean my face off the blood.
Damn it hurt.
"OW, THAT HURTS!" I shouted when the pain became unbearable.
She stopped in her actions immediately.
"Mianhaeyo," she whispered.
I sighed.
"It’s okay, it isn’t your fault," I said a bit embarrassed for shouting at her.
She nodded.
"I know. I just feel so sorry for you, because you’re in so much pain. If I hadn't asked those pabos to wake you up, your pretty face would be okay, right now. Wow, Hyukjae-ya was right, I will call them that a lot," she explained.
I had to smile.
"You get along with Hyukie-hyung a lot, right?"
She smiled back.
"He likes to think I like him the best, but honestly I like all of you guys. You’re all nice, at least most of the time, and so much fun. I think all of you have good hearts, that’s why you’re able to make so many people happy!"
Damn, she was really nice.
She really seemed to care for us.
I really had to stay away from her.
"Okay, all clean again, but that will leave a nasty bruise!"
I looked up at her.
I didn’t even feel the pain in the end.
Must be because of her talking to me.
"Kangin-hyung said, they will be over soon," Kibum suddenly said entering the room.
Lin smiled at me conspiringly.
"What do you say, are you up to some fun?" she asked mischievously.
I grinned and nodded.
"Here, put that ice on your nose. It will help with your swell. And now take that towel and put it over your face."
I did as she said.
The ice felt really good on my nose, making it all numb.
"Great and now pretend to be in great pain, when they come in!"
I nodded.
We waited and then we could hear footsteps.
I started to groan in pain.
"We’re coming, Flower!" Kangin yelled from afar.
Lin sat down next to me, rubbing my arm in a comforting way.
"Ow, Lin-ah, it hurts, it hurts!" I started complaining.
"What the hell happened in here?" Heechul asked bewildered.
"You want to know what happened? The two of you happened!" Lin exclaimed angrily.
"ya, Donghae-ah, what happened to you?" Kangin asked a bit irritated.
"Remember when I asked the two of you to wake up Donghae-ya and Leeteuk Oppa? Remember when you banged that door open like two crazy maniacs?"
"We didn’t…," Heechul-hyung started, but Lin cut him off.
"Ever thought that maybe there could be someone standing behind that door?" Lin asked in a scary voice.
I couldn’t keep myself from sneaking a peek at the two culprits.
They were looking at each other in great discomfort.
"We couldn’t have known that someone was awake already," Kangin started to defend them.
"Hyung, it hurts so badly," I whimpered.
"The least you two can do is apologize and take care of your dongsaeng," Lin said sternly.
Kangin and Heechul came over to me.
Heechul sat down next to me and started to pat my back awkwardly.
Kangin kneeled before me.
"Mianhae, Donghae-ya. We’re really sorry," Kangin said sincerely.
"Yes, we didn’t want to hurt anybody! Mianhae," Heechul continued.
I almost started to laugh at that moment, so I covered it up with a small whimper.
"Aish, Donghae-ya, you know Hyungs always feel the same pain whenever one of their dongsaengs is in pain. Please forgive us," Kangin pleaded a bit awkwardly.
He sounded very sorry and worried.
"Aw, that was very heart warming, Donghae-shi. What do you say?" Lin asked in an amused voice.
"Yah, Kitty, don’t make fun of us. We’re trying to be sincere here!" Heechul complained.
"Right, mianhae, continue", she said trying hard to stifle her laughter.
"Donghae-ya, let hyungs see that nose of yours. We’re really sorry," Heechul said.
"We’ll make it up to you. How about we pay for your food for a week?" Kangin asked.
Wow, I really should get hurt more often.
I whimpered again.
"Two weeks!" Heechul shouted.
"Really?" I asked in a whisper.
"Of course," Kangin ensured me.
"You won’t go back on your words?" I asked.
"Yah, what do you think of your hyungs? Of course we will keep our promise!" Heechul said, sounding offended.
"Great, then I will forgive you!" I exclaimed happily.
"What the hell?" Kangin said and pulled away the towel.
I started to laugh.
"Yah, you rascal! You made us worried!" Heechul shouted and slapped the back of my head.
Lin joined in with my laughter.
Kangin looked at the two of us.
"Aish, you two . We really thought Donghae was hurt badly," Kangin muttered in a funny mixture of annoyance and relief.
"But hyung, you really hit my nose! Look!" I exclaimed pointing at my nose.
"Aish!" Kangin muttered but then inspected my nose.
"That will look ugly for a while. Look, it’s already blue and swollen," Heechul said while taking a close look at my nose.
"So you guys hopefully learned your lesson. No slamming open doors anymore!" Lin ordered strictly.
"Of course, Flower, promise!" Kangin said while giving Lin a charming smile.
Lin nodded.
"Good!"
She looked at Heechul.
"Don’t look at me, it was Kangin’s idea anyway!"
Lin snorted but seemed to be satisfied.
"Okay, now who will help me to wake up Leeteuk Oppa?" Lin asked.
I gulped.
"I have to get ready!" I said and stood up.
"We can…" Heechul started.
"No, thank you. I will do it myself," she said immediately.
With that she stood up and left the room.
The three of us watched her go.
"She made you prank us, right?" Kangin asked me before I could leave the room, too.
I grinned and nodded.
"She is feisty! I like that!" Heechul exclaimed.
