Chapter 25-Long Update!!

My Roommate is A BOY?!

Sarang's POV~

A month and a half have passed already since the last time I saw Sumi. I still never got a chance to meet up with Jinyoung and to talk, but when the time is right, I know he'll come to me himself and talk.

My class was cancelled for the day, so I waited in the courtyard for Baekhee to finish her class so we could quickly grab lunch before her afternoon class. I sat against a tree under the shade, reading a romance novel to have time go by faster when I received a text. I looked at who it was and smiled at the name.

Baekhyun: Are you busy tonight?"

I could already feel my face heating up and so I replied back, Nope. Why?

Baekhyun: Lets go out for dinner, my treat.

Me: Sure.

Baekhyun: Okay, I'll text you the place and time. We'll meet up there.

I sent a smiley face, saying that was fine and ended our conversation. I went back to reading my book, but I couldn't concentrate; I kept smiling to myself like a creeper.

"Sarang~!" I heard Baekhee's voice as it cracked just a bit. I turned my attention to her as she skipped towards me. I stood up and brushed myself off as she interlocked our arms. "Lets go on our lunch date, I'm starving."

I giggled and nodded, packing my things up and we both headed out of campus grounds. Even still, I couldn't stop smiling to myself.

"What's up with you?" Baekhee asked, staring at me with those curious eyes of hers. I just smiled and shrugged.

"I've got a date tonight," was all I could say.

"Ouuu~ a date~!" she said in a teasing manner. "Jinyoung must have something nice planned then since today is Valentines Day."

My smile slowly faded and I felt my chest tighten. *Thats right...today's Valentines Day....

She looked at me and blinked her eyes. "What's wrong?"

I was still in between reality and my world, but I managed to say, "Nothing, lets quickly eat before your class starts."

She nodded and dragged me to a Chinese restaurant. I ordered jjambong and fried dumplings as she ordered jjajjamyun with sweet and sour pork. As we waited, she kicked me from below the table to get my attention.

"Yah, have you told Jinyoung yet?" Baekhee asked with a grin.

"Told him what?" I asked, taking a sip of my water.

"Uh, happy valentines day? Duh? Or an 'I Love You~'" she said as I swallowed hard. "You haven't told him yet, huh?"

I shook my head.

"Give me your phone," she said, reaching her hand out. I questioned her, but she made a gesture. "Hurry."

I took out my phone and hesitantly gave it to her, but before I could hold back she snatched it from my hand and began searching through it.

"What are you doing?" I asked watching her grin to herself.

"Texting Jinyoung oppa~" she chimed as I rounded my eyes and gasped. I stood up and reached over the table for my phone.

"Y-yah, give it back," I said as she kept my phone away from me.

"Not until I finish this text," she snickered.

"Can I have my phone back? Aish, Baekhee," I whined as she her lips before handing me the phone.

"There you go, I sent it," she evilly grinned. I took my phone and read the text she wrote.

Me: Oppa~ today's Valentines Day~! I love you honey~!!!! Let's meet up and do a lot of fun things tonight!;) Asfdghjklrjding.!:8&:02

I deeply inhaled and scoffed at what she wrote. The randomness at the end must have been when I was trying to get my phone back and she was struggling.

"Hopefully Jinyoung replies with something good," Baekhee smirked. "I hope he got the message to when I said, 'Do a lot of fun things tonight'."

"Yah," I said in disbelief. "I'm not that type of girl to be doing that!!"

Baekhee snickered and soon arrived our food. We began digging in and continued to talk about random things, but I couldn't really concentrate on the things she was saying because I was curious is Jinyoung had already seen the text or not; I constantly looked at my phone, but got no reply.

We finished our meal and went back to campus. I walked Baekhee to her class and headed up to our dorm room to get in on my studies. Being the typical college girl I am, I couldn't help but feel bored after an hour or so of working on some assignments. I tapped my pen on my notebook and bit my nails out of boredom when I received a text. My heart pounded against my chest, thinking Jinyoung had texted back, but fortunately it was Sora. It wasn't an important message though, only a simple "I love you just a bit more for today". I shook my head with a smile at the text and replied back, "I never loved you, but since today is Valentines Day, I'll also love you just for today."

*Awwh~ that's too sweet of you bae lol*

I snickered and sent a heart to end our conversation. I sighed and set my phone aside.

3rd Person POV~

Sarang's dinner date with Baekhyun was getting near as she rushed to find an outfit while Baekhee/Baekhyun laid on the bed, watching her pace around the room. Sarang sighed soon biting her bottom lip in frustration; Baekhyun couldn't help, but hide a smile at how frustrated she was.

"I should've picked an outfit earlier," Sarang groaned while running her fingers through her hair. "Unni, help me."

Baekhyun pretended he didn't hear and turned to his side as Sarang let out another sigh. Just then there was a knock at the door and so Sarang opened it to see no one, but a big white box in front of her feet. She furrowed her eyebrows and knelt down picking it up and slowly shutting the door behind her.

"Did you order something?" Sarang asked as Baekhee shook her head. "I didn't order anything though...?"

"Why don't you open it?" Baekhee asked. Sarang set the box on the bed besides Baekhee and opened it to see a beautiful red dress in it. Sarang's eyes beamed at the dress as she took it out and held it up.

"Uwah~ this is gorgeous," she said in awe as Baekhyun smiled to himself, pleased. Sarang held it up against her petite frame while looking at herself in the mirror and couldn't help, but smile to herself. She then looked at the accessories that came along with it when she came across an envelope. On the envelope it said Baekhyun's name on it, which made her heart flutter just a bit. Sarang quickly turned away from Baekhee, considering that she is Baekhyun's "twin" sister, she didn't want her knowing. She slowly took out the card in the envelope and silently read it to herself.

Wear this and be at **a/n: I couldn't think of a restaurant name** by 6pm. I'll be waiting for you, Sarang. P.S-Make sure to look beautiful, I want you to be the only girl standing out.
-Baekhyun

Sarang felt her cheeks flush and bit her bottom lip to hide a smile. She then quickly grabbed the dress and went to change in the bathroom as well as to look her best to impress Baekhyun. While she was changing Baekhee got off the bed and knocked on the bathroom door.

"I'll also be going out tonight," Baekhee said. "I don't know what time I'll be back or maybe I don't come back tonight, but have fun Sarang."

"Okay," Sarang shouted as she struggled to get into the dress. "Be safe though Baekhee."

"You too," Baekhee said and left the room; of course it was only an excuse for Baekhyun to change into himself before dinner. He didn't want to spoil himself either by seeing Sarang's transformation.

Sarang finished getting ready an hour later and left the dorm, heading off campus to flag down a taxi. She checked the time and still had half an hour left till 6.

Baekhyun walked down the street towards the **** restaurant when he heard someone shout his name.

"Baekhyun oppa~!" he heard her voice once again and so he turned around and saw Sumi waving at him. He smiled and waved back as she ran towards him.

"You're here?" he asked as she nodded with a smile. "Shall we go in?"

She nodded and so they both entered the restaurant taking a seat in the corner they reserved.

"Will this work?" Sumi asked as they had finished ordering their meals.

"Who knows," Baekhyun said taking a sip of his drink. "It'll either end well or not; we didn't really make much of a prediction anyways."

Sumi nodded and looked at the empty table just across their view. It wasn't long before someone had taken a seat at that table.

"Oh~ oppa's here," Sumi said as Baekhyun turned around to see him sitting at the table. Jinyoung looked neater than how he usually looked, maybe because he was having a date with "Sumi".

"Sarang should be here soon too," Baekhyun said and just in time, she entered the restaurant looking around for her date. Baekhyun couldn't help, but have his heart pound against his chest and his stomach flutter.

Sarang was greeted by a waiter and had told him about reservations, so the waiter led her to her table, but to her surprise it wasn't Baekhyun waiting for her, but Jinyoung. She looked at the waiter in confusion, but he didn't get the message and gestured for Sarang to take a seat. As told so, she did and glanced at Jinyoung, who couldn't take his eyes off of her. The two had awkwardly ordered their meals and sat in silence.

"You look nice," Jinyoung softly said, a bit embarrassed.

"You too," Sarang replied with a soft smile. By now, Jinyoung and Sarang knew they were set up to have dinner with one another, but they didn't bring up the topic.

"How long did you wait before I arrived?" Sarang asked to keep the conversation going.

"Not long," was all Jinyoung could say, but silence had only grown more. "So...how've you been?"

"I'm fine...you?" Sarang replied as he smiled gently.

"I'm also fine," he replied. He then scratched his head and cleared his throat, not knowing what else to talk about. Sarang silently sighed and looked at the interior of the restaurant.

"This place is beautiful, don't you think?" she asked as he nodded. Just then their dinner had arrived and Jinyoung had cut up his steak handing his plate to Sarang as she warmly thanked him. He grabbed her plate and they began eating.

"They look a bit awkward, don't they?" Sumi asked Baekhyun, who kept his eyes in Sarang only. She really was the only girl standing out in his eyes.

It didn't take long for Sarang and Jinyoung to feel more comfortable with each other and soon they began laughing at memories and what not. Once they had finished their dinner, they ordered a bottle of red wine to finish off the night. Jinyoung poured wine into her glass cup and their glasses clanged.

"It's been so long since we've had a night like this," Sarang smiled after taking a sip of the wine. "It was nice."

Jinyoung smiled back and also took a sip of the wine. He set the glass aside and looked at Sarang, but she wasn't smiling anymore. Her expression was soft, yet sadden making his heart sink a bit; he knew what that expression was about.

"How did we end up like this?" she then softly asked. "We may be dating, but why is it like this? Why was it so awkward to have dinner with my boyfriend whom I've been dating since high school?"

Jinyoung swallowed hard and slowly let out a sigh.

"When I took a seat, you kept staring at me...why did it seem like the first time you've looked at me as your girlfriend?" she asked. "That expression was the same expression you gave me when we first met, when we first fell in love with one another...."

"It's all because of me that we're like this," Jinyoung finally spoke. "I...I was the one who betrayed you."

Sarang tightly pressed her lips together and fiddled with her fingers that laid in her lap.

"I turned my back to you," he continued. "Instead of looking at you, I looked at another girl. Not once did I even turn around to look at you to see how you were feeling. Because my back was towards you and I was looking at this girl, I couldn't help but to step closer to her as you got further away from me."

Jinyoung and Sarang both felt their throat clog up, but they controlled their emotions.

"Then I realized...I realized that I've started looking at her the way I looked at you," he said, looking down with his head low. "I fell in love with her...but I didn't want to lose you either. When I realized what I was doing, I turned back to look at you, but you were already too far out of my sight."

"So you gave up?" she asked with a calm, gentle voice. "You didn't attempt to take any steps to get closer to me?"

"I couldn't," he said now looking at her.

"Why?"

"Because you had already turned your back to me," he said. She felt her heart hit against her chest. Jinyoung softly smiled and took another sip of the wine.

"He really cares for you," Jinyoung said, swirling the wine around in the glass. "He really wants to make you happy. He even set us up so we could strengthen our relationship...he's really a good person."

Sarang gently smiled. "He is."

Jinyoung smiled back and chugged down the remaining wine in his glass cup, then looked at Sarang.

"Don't you think it's time?" he asked. Sarang looked at him and nodded. "This is one reason why I fell in love with you...you were always a reasonable and considerate girl."

"I only became like this because I know things won't always go the way I want it to," she said. Jinyoung quietly snickered and patted Sarang's head.

"I'm sorry," he said with a soft smile. "I'm sorry I didn't love you enough to make you happy."

"I couldn't have asked for a better person to be my first love, so there's no need to be sorry," she said and grabbed his hand. "The love you gave me was more than enough to make me happy."

She and Jinyoung smiled at each other.

"Things must have ended well," Sumi said as Baekhyun smiled, nodding.

"It's a good thing though, right?" he asked, feeling his chest grow heavy.

Jinyoung and Sarang paid their share of the bill and had left the restaurant. They both stopped at the entrance and looked at one another.

"Although it was a set up, thank you for tonight oppa," Sarang said. "I really enjoyed it."

"Me too," Jinyoung smiled and so they both hugged each other, then released each other. "By the way, I got your text."

Sarang rounded her eyes and felt herself flush in embarrassment. Jinyoung chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"It was cute," he said and grinned.

"Baekhee wrote that!" Sarang defended herself.

"I already knew that. You wouldn't have written something like that," Jinyoung laughed and sighed afterwards. He then reached his arm out for a handshake. "I guess this is where we end it."

Sarang smiled and shook his hand. "It may not have been the most romantic Valentines date ever, but it was very memorable."

"I wish you the best of luck, Sarang," Jinyoung said releasing her hand.

"You too oppa," she replied and they parted ways.

Sarang was walking down the street carelessly when she bumped into a person.

"Oh, I'm sor-" she looked up and saw Baekhyun in front of her. She gasped and stepped back. "What are you doing here?"

"We had a date, remember?" he teased as she snickered and gently slapped his arm.

"As if," she giggled.

"You knew?" he asked, referring to the set up as she nodded. "How did it go then?"

"It was great," she smiled as they both walked down the street. "Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me cause everything worked out," he said with a smile. "There's no more heartaches anymore, right?"

"That's correct."

"That's good-"

"We ended it," Sarang cut him off. He stopped in his tracks and widened his eyes as his eyes grew wide.

"W-what?" he asked as she shrugged.

"We spoke and thought it was best to just end it," she said.

"B-but...I had no intentions of breaking you two up-"

"I know oppa," Sarang smiled. "We decided this ourselves."

Baekhyun felt bad and bit his bottom lip. "I'm sorry."

Sarang sighed and walked towards him and stopped within a foot away from him. "Don't be sorry. What you did was a good thing for the both of us. We got to have a good time together for the last time, so thank you."

Baekhyun still felt guilty, but what was done is done.

"But why did you set us up?" Sarang asked as Baekhyun softly smiled.

"No matter how much I wanted to go on this date with you, I couldn't bring myself to do it. And besides, Valentines day should be spent with someone you love, if not that then with your boyfriend," he answered. "I was in no position to take a taken girl out on Valentines day and I knew Jinyoung wasn't going to do anything for you, so Sumi and I planned this out."

"Sumi?" she asked as Baekhyun nodded. Sarang smiled at the fact that she helped the two get together. "That's nice of her."

Baekhyun nodded then looked at Sarang. "I'm curious about one thing though. How are you feeling now? After the whole thing?"

"You're probably thinking I should be sad and crying, but I'm more relieved than sad," Sarang answered with a smile. "It was a bittersweet ending, you could say."

"Ahh, I see," he said and smiled down at her. "That's good then."

Sarang nodded in agreement and grabbed his wrist, not wanting to be too quick on grabbing his hand. "Since we're both single adults, lets go do something fun."

Baekhyun raised an eyebrow as she smirked. The rest of the night, they played at an arcade laughing and having a good time with one another, feeling wild and free. Sarang looked up at Baekhyun as he was laughing and widely smiling at the game they were playing together.

Not only did I get to spend today with someone I once loved, but I got to spend it with someone I've started to love.
