hi. i have this problem... well actually a love problem... and i really hope you can help me. so, there's this one guy i like. yeah i really like him, and lately, he's been noticing me too. he hugged me more than once, and strangely, instead of feeling good, it felt awkward and... really bad. so i stayed away from him, and i don't seem to regret my decision. he was sad for the past few days, and he didn't open up to anyone. he's been trying to approach me for more than few times now, but i stayed away from him. i know i may seem like a jerk right now, but i'm really not ready for these kind of stuff. i think it was better when he wasn't noticing me, and that i was just watching him from a far. i do, i understand him. i know it hurts ( yeah well he told us once he liked me ) for him, but we're not just... we're not old enough to be doing those 'love' stuff. but i don't get why he's so sad for that small matter. it's just a crush. i don't love him. oh, and another thing. he's also giving me different gifts every time, and unfortunately, it's not from his own pockets. his father's the one who's sending him money ( but he doesn't know that he's been giving me those ) and i really think that's bad. i don't want to accept those, but he always insist. i'm just confused right now, so i'm seeking help from you /sips/ thank you for listening to me, at least. thank you in advance~

Honey, it’s okay to feel uncomfortable when hugged even if you like the guy.

90% of communication is done through body language so by pushing him away (even if it is slight and a working of your subconscious) may evoke a bad reaction for him. Guys usually are quite touchy feely so by even showing the slightest disgust, he may be discouraged even if you can’t understand that. Also you’re quite sensible to understand that a male and female shouldn’t be engaging in romantic behaviour at a young age and there’s no worries if you feel uncomfortable. You do like him and he likes you which is incredible since there are so many people out here who are forever alone. Maybe make a compromise and ask if he can hold off a full blown relationship until you both feel mature and comfortable enough to continue. There are a lot of things you learn as you grow older and eventually, your feelings might turn out to be completely platonic. As for the gifts, ask him very kindly to stop because it’s not comfortable for you and he shouldn’t be infringing on your happiness. Besides, it’s not even his money which makes it a lot worse.
