Knowing all too well I hated this situation, Heechul wrapped his arms around me tighter. We waited for the lights to turn on again but it never happened. I could only imagine how many people just died because their breathing machines stopped. I felt uneasy even though I was in Heechul's safe arms.

We just sat there until Leeteuk spoke up from his known place on the hospital bed. "Guys I don't know what just happened but we can't really do much. I think we should just sleep until the sun comes up." We agreed and with much difficulty found spots to lay down in for the night. 

When Heechul tried to set me down, I wrapped my arms around his neck and refused to let go. He complied and layed down with his arms around me knowing that I hated hospitals. He also knew that bad things often happened in hospitals when the lights went. The lights shouldn't have gone out anyway. I mean come on! It's a hospital!

After a while I heard the boys soft breathing fill the room. That left me alone to stare blindly into the darkness, fearing what might be staring at me that I couldn't see. I  know that's ridiculous but I couldn't help it. I tried to shrink into Heechul's arms as much as I could as if I could hide from the piercing darkness.

I had been in an awkward sleep when I felt a breeze blow by. My eyes snapped open. Ohmydice. No. No. No. No. No. Please no. I begged as the room got colder. I wasn't scared of many things but paranormal happenings just struck me hard. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared less. I slammed my eyes shut pretending I was asleep when I heard a faint whisper.

"I know you're awake." A cold voice said.

"What do you want from me?" I asked it trying to keep my voice steady.

"It is not you I want something from. It is your injured friend." It replied.

"Teukie?!? What do you want from him?" I asked.

"His life." It told me.

"Are y-you.....Death?" I asked it feeling ridiculous and scared at the same time.

"You could call me that." It said.

"Please don't take Leeteuk! It's not his time yet and he's still young. He's loved by many." I told it trying to change its mind.

"That is not for me to decide." It hissed.

"How so?" I asked it.

"Let me show you." It said. I heard rustling and felt a strong breeze as it passed by me. I gasped when it pulled the window curtains back. Instead of the usual white moon I expected to see I saw it covered by an evil black mass with a crescent of red on its edge.

"What is that?" I said intrigued, as I gathered the strength to slip out of Heechul's embrace and walk towards the window.

"That is his life timeline. Your friend's is almost up." It said motioning at the tiny sliver of red.

"But it can't be!" I told it exasperated. "Isn't there anything we can do?!?" I asked.

"A life for a life." It told me.

"So you're saying if you have another life in place of Leeteuk's, he'll live?" I asked.

"Correct. His time is almost up. If there is no life to swap the he will be gone by the time the sun comes up." It said sadly.

"Take this." I said pulling a little jar out of my pocket. "A life for a life. These are my mother and father's ashes. These count as two lives don't they?" I asked.

"Smart child. You've found a loophole. I will count these as two lives. One shall be used now for your friend the other shall be freed when the time comes when you will need another trade. I will save your friend this time.. His life timeline shall be set back to normal. You shall be marked as his savior. Until we meet again." It told me releasing my mother's ashes onto the strange moon. The hovering mass over it dissolved and a normal white moon appeared in its place. I was too shocked to go back to my place in Heechul's arms as I contemplated what I had just done. I just saved your life Park Jung Soo.

"Your brave Kim Sora." Someone whispered in my ear, wrapping their arms around my waist pulling me to their chest. I gave a look of despair at him as he looked at me like I was a hero or someone of actual importance.

"No I'm weak Lee Hyukjae."
