I took a deep breath and stood in front of the door of the dorm room number 15.

 

This is it.

 

 

 

 

She had planned to be here at this particular dorm for an entire year. And the reason was a certain someone she saw last year when she was attending the foundation day of her sister's school.

 

All of her life, Nancy had always been chased by guys, both American and Korean (she grew up partly in Ohio, her father's hometown and Korea, her mother's hometown.) She enjoyed being chased by all those guys and especially enjoyed dating cute guys.
But that particular day at MMLD high, her sister's school, she laid eyes on a particular girl with a ponytail who clumsily ran up and stood at the centre of the stage podium and sang the theme song of "dream high" as a part of the entertainment programme of the function. The song was her favorite song but she wasn't singing along to it. Nancy stood there completely awestruck, not by her voice, but by "Her".

 

 

 

 

"Who is she" I whispered to no one in particular but my sister replied with a, " a junior fresher, i guess." And I was glad she heard me.

 

After that day, I knew I was going to leave my school at Ohio and admit myself here, to where I belong, with her.

 

 

I shake my head as I smiled and cleared my mind.
Nancy focus, I tell myself.

I took another breath and knocked on the door.

There was silence.

 

I knocked again, three knocks a time, just like Sheldon.

 

A couple set of knocks later, a sleepy blond girl opened the door and peeked out of the barely opened door.

I smiled at her.

She looked confused for a while but then she gradually widened her eyes along with the door.
She pointed at me and said, "the new roommate they informed me about. Shoot! Why are you early?"

It was already 7

I raised my eyebrows at her.

"I was just kidding." she giggled like a madman a moment later.

"I am Joo E and you are?" she asked taking my hand and shaking it vigorously.

"I am Nancy. Nice to meet you." i  replied.

She let go of my hand and nodded slightly while smiling and leaning at the doorframe.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Oh I am such a freak, come on in" she said, dragging my trolley bag inside.

"its alright. i can do it myself", I said.

"Nah, I will do it. You should just shut up and enjoy my offer while it lasts."

She plopped my baggage on a bed which I assumed was mine.

"make yourself at school dorm" she said laughing.

I laughed too.
With the way she was behaving, I would have suddenly hated her but I couldn't seem to hate this girl.
I smiled.
I found a good roomate.
