The Autumn StoryThis Autumn should be the year that marks a new decade of their relationship. But just like last year, Joohyun had prepared herself that she would celebrate it alone.
After the heartbreaking scene two Autumn ago, her Umma had given her one or two days off the hospital job so she could visit the birds and swans in the river bank. Yuri’s condition was getting better nowadays. Joohyun suspected that love had made her sister stronger as Jongwoon (or she called it Yesung-Oppa now, because he had an angelic voice) was hardly leave her bed side most of the time.
And this is the second day in two years, both were October the tenth, when her parents and Yuri forbid her to do any tasks so she could come to the river bank much early. “I know your heart would stay there at this particular date,” her Appa said, “so just go there and have fun, ok?”.
So here she was, half walking half dancing to the bench with eyes half-closed. She hoped that way she could imagine her Oppa would walk besides her then smiling and let her step her foot in once or twice to his. Just like when she was six.
Minho had been able to convince her to do the dance duet. Well, because either that or Yoona would be the one with Minho and she would take Yoona’s place as the leading lady for their drama. And that would be awkward because the leading man is Yong Hwa sunbae, who she tried to avoid because he once waited for her in the drama class with a bouquet of flowers.
She still hummed the song and dance in her tip toes when she noticed a figure standing near their bench. She stopped a few steps to the bench to calm down her racing heart. “Dear God, please don’t make me hallucinating again,” she whispered softly.
