Can I keep you forever?
The Autumn StoryThree days later, Jeju Hospital
“She has been like that since the first time she arrived here.” Sooyoung’s voice alarmed Yuri who was watching her sister intently from outside the window of Kyuhyun’s room.
“She was in remorse, Young-ah.” Yuri shook her head sadly. “These two are always have a very intent feeling to each other. Even when they were just toodler.” Yuri wiped the tears that were dropping to her cheeks. “Sometimes I think they were in love when she was only three.”
“That’s absurd, Yul.” Her husband chuckled while sneaking his hands over her waist to pull her close to him. “They don’t even know how to talk properly!”
Yuri smiled now. Silently thanking Jongwoon for making her feeling a bit better.
“Uh, is it true that after he found her, he asked his Umma if he could keep her?” Sooyoung asked.
Jongwoon laughed while Yuri’s smile widen.
“I remember the day we lost her. It was my fault. She slipped from my hold when she saw the butterfly. I was very stressed when I realized she’s nowhere to be found.” Yuri shifted her gaze back to the scene on the bed and sighed. “I was crying when Leeteuk-Oppa approached us and asked if I was crying because I lost a little girl.”
Sooyoung followed her gaze and watched the young girl that they were talking about was resting her head over the side of the comatose man’s head. She had been worry about Joohyun. She was rarely eating or sleeping. Always pushing to wake up and stay beside him all the time.
“Then he told me that his little brother found a cute little girl with chubby cheeks, lovely round eyes and beautiful ringlets. Instantly I knew that was my little Joo. I was half –running to her because I was afraid that she was scared and confused in the middle of strangers.” Then Yuri chuckled and laughed softly. “But that scenario didn’t happen. Instead, I found her giggling while running over the backyard with a smiling little boy.”
Jongwoon nodded. “I remember Leeteuk –Hyung told me that was the first time for anyone in the family to see that Kyuhyun, a hyperactive little boy that he was, could pull all of his attentions to one thing. I think he even took a picture of Kyuhyun’s stoic face when his eyes followed Joohyun everywhere she went.” He snickered. “I bet Kyuhyun was annoyed everytime he saw it.”
“But nothing could be compared of his statement when we tried to bring Joo home.” Yuri laughed again.
“Which was?” Sooyoung ‘s eyebrows furrowed.
“Umma, why can I keep Hyun-Baby here with me?”
Sooyoung chortled. “He really said that in front of everyone?”
Yuri nodded. “Yeah. Cute wasn’t it?”
“He still calls her that sometimes, Noona.” A smiling Minho joined the conversation. “And Kyuhyun-Hyung doesn’t care how much that annoys Joohyun.”
“My serious Joo.” Yuri sighed while touching the window and watched the sleeping pairs again.
“I am glad she can sleep now.” Sooyoung blurted.
“Aren’t we all, Noona.” Minho sighed.
