“A penny of your thought?”
Jongwoon glanced at Joohyun that was sitting calmly on the passenger seat. She shifted her gaze to her brother-in-law and smiled. “I am just overwhelmed, Oppa.”
“With the trip?”
She shrugged, “With everything.”
He nodded, understanding downed on him. “How’s the blood sampling?”
“It’s fine. Strange but fine. “ Then she let out a loud sigh. “I wonder how Unnie could handle that almost every time.”
Jongwoon patted her head. “She’s a strong girl. Just like you.” She looked at him with uncertainty. He chuckled. “You are her inspiration. Believe me.”
“I am?” The young girl looked at him with wide eyes. “But how come?”
“She once told me that you are her strength. Every time she was sick, she would take all the attention on her and left you, the baby who should be having the attention, by your own to struggle.”
Joohyun felt her eyes warm with tears that already welled there.
“So every time she felt hopeless, she looked at you and reminded herself. If Little Joo could be like she is now, a remarkable young girl, then nothing would be the best cure that to be healthy and see you grow even more beautifully.”
Her tears were now already streamed at her cheeks. “Unnie....”
Jongwoon smiled. “Don’t be ashamed to cry on that, Joo. I cried the first time she told me the story. “ He paused and wiped his own tears. “Thank you for being you.”
