Over the phone,

Wangzi : Wei.

Aaron : Wangzi, tell me how to keep a kid quiet.

Wangzi : What happened bro?

Aaron : It’s this evil boy. I have to look after him for a while. He keeps asking to play horse riding. I’m tired as hell.

Wangzi chuckled.

Wangzi : You sound like you’re having fun there.

Aaron : are you kidding me? He’s still riding my back. I’m a horse.

Wangzi could hear Alvin’s voice over the phone.

Wangzi burst out into laughter.

Aaron : Aiyo. I’m tired already. He’ll cry if I don’t become a horse.

Aaron : How about we go look for mommy?

Alvin nodded.

He jumped out from Aaron’s back. Aaron stood up, touching his back.

Aaron’s thought : Aiyoo, my back.

Aaron held Alvin’s hand and walked out from the beach house. He brought Alvin to walk along the shores. They had walked for about a mile, about thirty minutes. The wind was getting stronger since it was in the evening.

Aaron : Are you cold?

Alvin nodded.

Alvin : Mhmm.

Aaron : Do you want to go back to the house?

Alvin : I want to find mommy.

Alvin saw Guigui and Taeyang from afar. He ran towards them happily.

Alvin : Mommyy.. Daddy..

Aaron saw that. He felt a bit jealous.

Taeyang squatted down, stretching out his hands. Alvin ran towards Taeyang. Taeyang hugged Alvin in his arms and stood up, carrying him. Aaron walked towards them.

Taeyang : What is my little boy doing out here?

Alvin : Looking for mommy and daddy. (Smiled)

Guigui patted Alvin’s head.

Guigui : Who brings you here, Alvin?

Alvin pointed at Aaron.

Alvin : Uncle horse!!

Guigui : Uncle horse?

Guigui looked at Aaron, trying to find out why Alvin called him uncle horse.

Aaron : Don’t look at me! He wanted to play horse riding, so I had to be a horse.

Guigui giggled.

Taeyang : Thank you for looking after him, Aaron.

Aaron : Don’t mention it.

Taeyang : Even, since Aaron is here I guess you can go back to the house with him. I’ll leave now.

Guigui : Okay. Be careful. Don’t be home too late.

Taeyang : I know. (turned to Alvin) Alvin, Daddy will see you tomorrow okay?

Alvin : Where is daddy going? Are we going to play tomorrow?

Taeyang : We will play tomorrow. You have to be good tonight, okay?

Alvin : Hao daddy.

Taeyang kissed Alvin’s forehead then he turned to Guigui and kissed her forehead. Aaron tried to look away, did not want to see. He knew he felt jealous deep in his heart.

Taeyang : Aaron, sorry to trouble you sending them to the house.

Aaron : It’s alright.

Taeyang : Then bye!

Taeyang let Alvin down and left.

Guigui held Alvin’s hand and started walking. Aaron was beside Alvin, made Alvin walking in the middle of them. They looked like a couple.

There was an awkward silence between them. No one had started to talk.

They had been walking for about ten minutes. Alvin started to get fussy. As a kid, it should be his bed time already. Alvin started to get all fussy and crying.

Both Guigui and Aaron stopped walking. Guigui squatted down and pinched Alvin’s cheek.

Guigui : Look at my boy. So cute when he gets fussy.

Guigui smiled. Aaron saw that.

Aaron’s thought : She must have had a good life without me. At least, no one hurt her like I did.

Aaron squatted down and carried Alvin in his arms.

Aaron : I’ll take care of it. He just wants to sleep.

Guigui was surprised seeing what Aaron just did. They started walking again. Alvin slowly fell asleep in Aaron’s arms.

Aaron : So.. How have you been doing?

Aaron decided to break the silence.

Guigui : I’ve been good. How about you? How are you and Hebe? I bet your child is big now.

Aaron’s thought : She still doesn’t know about it.

Aaron : I’m good. Actually, I… Hebe and I did not get married.

Guigui : Oh. How did that happen?

Aaron : Complicated.

They started walking again.
