Your POV

Once the school day ended, I packed up my things and headed down to the bus stop.  As I crossed the street, I said goodbye to Luhan and Minhee.  Then Sehun came and met me there. 

We climbed onto the bus when it arrived and stood beside each other like usual.  We made small talk as we waited.  Then when my stop came around, Sehun got off with me. 

"S-Sehun?  What are you doing?" I asked him as soon as we got off and the bus drove away. 

"Uh- Well, I uhh...  Can I walk you home?" he said, looking nervous. 

I looked up at him in surprise.  I was shocked that he suddenly wanted to walk me home, but I had no problem with it.  Secretly, I kind of thought that it was sweet of him to do so. 

As we walked side by side to my house, we continued to talk.  We were able to keep a conversation going and I couldn't help but smile.  Maybe I was trying to forget my feelings about him, but how could I when he had an actual smile on as we walked together. 

We stopped at my doorstep and I turned to look at him. 

"Thank you for walking me home," I thanked him. 

"No problem," he said. 

"I really appreciate it.  It was nice to walk home and talk to someone." 

He gave me a genuine smile and I swear I could've fainted.  I had to tell myself to take in a breath as he stood in front of me. 

Sehun's POV

After Hina and I said goodbye to one another, I made my way home.  My apartment building wasn't miles away from Hina's house, but it wasn't exactly very close either.  It took me a good 25 to 30 minutes to get home. 

As soon as I got home, I decided to call my uncle about my desicion to move in with them or not. 

"Hello?" his voice answered. 

"Hey, uncle," I greeted him and began to fill up a pot with water so that I could eat some Ramen. 

"Sehun, how are you doing?" 

"I'm good.  How are you and aunty Min?" 

"We're good...  Have you decided yet?" 

"Yeah.  Actually that's why I called." 

"So?" 

"I want to live by myself.  I'm really thankful for you and aunty and your guys' offer, but I've decided to live on my own." 

"Oh, okay.  That's fine.  Thanks for letting us know.  We'll always be here for you if you need us, alright?" 

"Okay.  Thank you." 

"No problem, kiddo."  He paused for a second and listened to the voice that was talking in the background.  "You're aunt wanted me to tell you to call us every week." 

I chuckled.  "Alright, I'll call or text you guys." 

"Okay, Sehun.  I'll see you later." 

"Bye." 

Then we hung up.  I slid my phone into my back pocket and continued cooking my Ramen noodles. 

The next day I got onto the bus, I met Hina when she climbed on.  She came and stood beside me like usual and greeted me with a small smile.  We small talked until the bus stopped at the school.  Then we got off and met up with Luhan and Minhee, who had just got to school as well. 

We stood in our little group of four and chatted for a little bit before I was being tugged on by someone.  I turned and realized that it was only Zitao.  He dragged me inside the school building and through the hallways. 

"Gahhh, what do you want, Tao?" I asked as he kept pulling me. 

"Well, I'm in deep ," he replied. 

"What'd you do this time?" 

"I bombed my test yesterday." 

"And why do you need me?  It's your own fault." 

"Because Mrs. Jo said that if I get in all my homework, then it'll bring my grade up and I won't have to go back home to China." 

"Wait a second...  Are you failing the class?" 

"Yes..."  He hung his head low and stayed silent after answering.  He had stopped tugging me at this point.  We stood still in the hall, only a couple feet away from our classroom. 

Tao looked so upset about it that I couldn't help but feel bad.  Plus if he left I wouldn't have anyone to bother or to team up against the hyungs with.  I placed my hand on his shoulder and gave it a loose squeeze. 

"Come on, I'll help you," I told him and made my way to the classroom. 

"Really?" 

"Yeah." 

"Do you still have the answers for the homework?" 

"No, but even if I did I wouldn't give you the answers, stupid." 

Tao pouted, but followed me behind closely.  Throughout the morning I helped Zitao do all his missing assignments.  Then lunch time came.  I sat down and patiently waited for Luhan and them to get to the table.  It felt like an eternity passed while waiting for them, but when they finally showed up I felt like everything just lightened up.  

All the seats were already taken by everyone else except for the seat beside me.  Then Hina sheepishly came walking around and sat down next to me.  I gave her a small smile and scooted over slightly so that she could have some space.  When I did that, Tao, who was sitting on the other side of me, looked my way and nudged me off of him and purposely made me move back towards Hina's way.  

"What are you doing?" I whisper-screamed to him.  

"Helping you," he replied and smirked.  

I sighed, then looked at Hina.  She began eating silently and didn't seem to mind the closeness of us.  Without saying a word, I stared down at her like I had been doing the past couple of days.  Still, her beauty and attractiveness blows me away.  

"Stop staring, pretty boy," Jongin said after kicking me underneath the table.  

Hina looked up after he said that and then turned to me.  "Don't mind, Jongin," I told her.  

She nodded her head and turned to talk to Minhee about something else.  After he head was turned away, I glared at Jongin and kicked him back.  

At the end of the day, I quickly packed up and headed out to the front of the school.  The first people I spotted was Luhan and Minhee.  They stood together and looked like they were in a lovey-dovey moment, but that's when I noticed that Hina wasn't with them.  I looked around while walking towards them, wondering where Hina could be.  

"Oh, hey, Sehun-ah," Luhan greeted me.  

"Hey, hyung," I greeted back.  

"Shouldn't you be waiting at the bus stop?" Minhee asked and pointed at the bus stop.  

"Yeah, but I was going to go with Hina.  Do you guys know where she is?"  

"She's up in the classroom retaking some tests.  She might be a while."  

"Why do you want to know where she is?" Luhan questioned.  

"I-I... I wanted to get on the bus with her," I replied.  

"Are you sure?" Minhee asked.  

I nodded in response.  

"You're not trying to pull something, are you?"  

"No?"  I had no idea what Minhee was talking about or why she would think that in the first place.  

"Okay," she simply said.  

"Uhmm... bao bei, why don't you go start the car.  It's a bit too cold out today," Luhan told her.  

She said okay and took the keys from Luhan and disappeared into the parking lot.  

"Don't mind her," Luhan said.  "Anyways, about Hina-"  

"It's nothing," I told him.  

"You don't even know what I was about to say."  

I sighed.  "I just wanted to wait for her.  I... wanted to walk her home."  

He gasped dramatically.  "Do I smell a romance starting to bloom between a new couple?!?"  

"N-no.  You're crazy..."  

"You don't have to deny it, little cousin of mine.  Just tell me, you like Hina, right?"  

I didn't reply and he dramatically gasped again.  

"Ah!  I'm so happy for you.  Just remember what I said, okay?" he continued.  

"Hyung, please... don't do this here..." I practically begged him.  

"Alright, I won't embarrass you, Hunnie."  

"If you don't want to embarrass me, go to your girlfriend and don't show up in front of me until Monday."  

"I'll pay you a little visit tomorrow afternoon or something."  

"I said Monday."  

"And I don't care."  He carelessly started walking away and smiling happily.  "See you."  

I sighed for the millionth time and mentally facepalmed myself.  Why did I have to have a cousin like that...  I mean, I guess it isn't too bad.  

After Luhan and Minhee left, I went back into the school and went to check on Hina, who really was in her classroom with a pencil in hand and writing away at a paper in front of her.  I quietly closed the door all the way and made my way to the stairs.  I decided to hang around until Hina was done taking her tests.  

About 2 hours later, she finally came out of the classroom and headed my way.  I got up and greeted her.  

"Wh-what are you doing here?" she asked in surprise.  

I scratched the back of my head nervously and awkwardly smiled.  "I wanted to wait for you..." I replied.  

"Oh, well, thanks...  You really didn't have to."  Then she gasped.  "You waited for so long.  Why didn't you just go home?"  

"It's okay."  

"But just waiting for me was a waste of 2 hours that you could be doing something else."  

"It's fine.  I don't have anything better to do anyways."  

She looked like she was about to say something else, but before she got the chance, I pulled her along to the bus stop.  We got there just in time and climbed onto the bus.  The bus was really crowded when we got on and we had to squeeze in right next to each other.  

We stood along the bus wall and huddled right beside each other.  People kept pushing past us to get out, and in the process of pushing, they pushed Hina forward and almost made her trip.  Once I noticed what was happening, I threw my right arm around her and protectively held her steadily.  She looked up at me and shyly smiled while blushing madly.  I couldn't help but smile back and keep a hold on her.  

When the bus stopped at her stop, we got off together.  I followed her as she stepped off the bus and turned around.  She looked at me in surprise just like she did yesterday and asked the same exact thing.  "What are you doing, Sehun?"  

"Uhhh....  C-Can I walk you home again?" I asked, trying to keep eye contact, but absolutely failing.  

"Yeah, sure..."  

Just as we were about to walk in her home's direction, a car pulled up to the side and a woman got out of the car.  She looked familiar, but right then I couldn't put my finger on it.  Then she came walking up to us angrily. 

"Kim Hina, you have disobeyed me.  Get in the car this instant," she said sternly and grabbed Hina's wrist harshly. 

"Mom, stop," Hina said and pulled her hand away. 

Then her mom snapped her head at me and pointed at me.  "And you," she began.  "Stay away from my daughter.  I don't want her getting influenced by you." 

She was about to turn around and walk away, but I decided to speak up.  "Ms. Kim, let me-" 

"I don't care what you have to say.  Just stay away.  Do you hear me?" 

"But-" 

"Let's go, Hina." 

I reached out and tried to grab Hina's hand, but was surprised by a slap to the face.  My cheek stung and I swear it got red right away.  I lifted my hand and let my fingers run across my now red cheek. 

Hina stared in shock and slowly walked towards me.  Then she spun around and lashed out at her mom.  "Why did you do that?!?" she asked.  "You didn't have to hurt him!  Sehun's not a bad person, nor would he ever do something wrong to me..." 

"Hina, I'm doing this for your own good," her mother said. 

"My own good???  You've got to be kidding me.  You hurt my friend.  He never did anything wrong to you or me.  What you're doing is making things worst, so just leave." 

"Hina-" 

"Leave!" 

"Hina!" she yelled, surprising the both of us.  "You're coming home with me whether you like it or not.  I am your mother and you will listen to me when I tell you something." 

Then she tugged on Hina's arm and made her get into the car.  It happened all so fast that I didn't get a chance to say anything else until they were driving off.  I couldn't believe what had just happened and was momentarily stunned. 

Your POV

When my mom slapped Sehun's cheek I was shocked.  First, I was surprised, then I felt angry and yelled at her for doing so.  She had no reason to hit him at all, yet she did anyways. 

As soon as we got home, I rushed into the house, not bothering to gently and soundlessly close my bedroom door, and locked myself in my room.  I did not want to talk about what had just happened.  Literally, it was embarrassing and I felt bad for Sehun who had become the victim. 

After an hour of being locked up in my room, I picked my phone up and called Sehun.  For the whole hour, I was thinking of what to say to Sehun when I called because of how awkward it must've been for him.  He probably hated me after what my mom did, and I felt slightly embarrassed to talk to him. 

"Hello?" Sehun answered. 

"H-Hey, Sehun..." I stuttered. 

"Yeah?" 

"I'm sorry about earlier.  Are you okay?" 

"Don't apologize, it's okay.  I'm fine, it doesn't hurt that much." 

"Oh..." 

"Don't worry about it.  I'm fine... and don't blame yourself, okay?" 

I hesitated for a second.  "But-" 

"Okay?" 

"F-fine...  Make sure you ice your cheek... I know my mom hit you hard." 

"I will.  Thanks, and remember what I said." 

"Okay." 

"Kay, I'll see you Monday then." 

"Okay, bye." 

Hi there!  It's been so long!  I'm so sorry...  The school year started and I already have no time to write...  This chapter has been unfinished for a long time until today.  I will try my best to update as often as I can, especially since this story will be ending pretty soon and I want to put up another story.
