Misunderstanding

I Think I Love You...?

Wooyoung's POV

My fists balled, and the heat rose up to my face, but I wasn't blushing. Nobody noticed my fiery face, until Ji Yeon tapped Ji Eun gesturing to me. Taeyang looked over at me too. There was a look of happiness in his face, but it soon faded when he saw my expression. Ji Eun looked a little worried too. She walked over and touched my shoulder gingerly.

"Wooyoung...what's wrong?" her voice was soft and it made wanna soften up, but I stopped myself. Taeyang was about to propose to her! My head whipped in her direction. She flinched at my action, tentatively removing her hand from me. Suddenly, it was oddly quiet in the house.

"What was that?" I demanded. She gave me a confused look.

"What was--?" I let out an exasperated sigh. Taeyang came over to us, a dumbfounded expression on his face.

"What's going on here?" he looked over at Ji Eun who looked just just as bewildered. I couldn't hold it in.

"Don't act stupid in front of me! I saw you!" I said pointedly at Taeyang. He cocked an eyebrow.

"Saw me do what?" Then he tilted his head to side as if thinking. Ji Eun was fidgeting with her fingers nervously. Then it seemed to hit Taeyang straight in the head, because his eyes widened and he started shaking his head.

"Oh...no. Wooyoung, you got it all wrong. We weren't--"

"Be quiet. I had enough of this." I snarled, not meeting Ji Eun's gaze. I turned around and stomped out of the door, slamming it shut.

Ji Eun's POV

I was still pretty lost. I don't really know what Wooyoung was mad about.

"I'm so confused." I said aloud. Taeyang looked at me worriedly. Ji Yeon had joined us by the door.

"You okay?" she asked me. I nodded, but really I didn't know.

"Ji Eun, he took it the wrong way." Taeyang stated. I stared up at him. His eyes were furrowed and serious.

"Wait, what did he--?" Then the realization slapped my in the face. I looked at Taeyang's hands and saw he was holding the ring.

"Oh no."

~~~
It was too awkward to continue the party, so umma decided to end it early. All of us started looking for Wooyoung. Who knew what that boy could have gone, especially since he's now furious about something he misunderstood.
I mentally smacked myself. I should have realized beforehand! I should have told him. I chided to myself. We tried calling him, but he didn't answer. His hyungs were going to search for him by van, along with Victoria unnie. I pouted.
I didn't have time to bond with her....
Ji Yeon, Seung Ho, Taeyang Oppa, and me were at home still trying to contact him. I sighed loudly, after another hour had gone by.
"It's no use! He's not going to answer!" I cried, dropping my phone on the couch and running my hands through my hair. Tears began to form in my eyes, but I prevented them from falling by biting my lip and looking up at the ceiling. Ji Yeon tried calming me with soothing words, saying that Wooyoung will come back and that he was okay.
Taeyang stood up from the couch. "I'm going to go look for him." I watched him go to the door. I grabbed his arm.
"Let me come with you." He pulled my hand away gently and shook his head.
"Ji Eun, it's getting late and you have to leave tomorrow..." When he mentioned my departure, I couldn't help but let a tear fall down my cheek.
"I can't leave without saying goodbye to Wooyoung!" I wailed. Taeyang went over and hugged me. His strong embrace wasn't as soothing as Wooyoung's, but it made me feel safer and better.
"I need you here. Just in case he calls. Okay? I'll tell you when I find him." Hesitantly, I nodded.
"I'll come with him." Seung Ho suggested. When it was Ji Yeon's turn to protest, I touched her arm. He looked at her sympathetically.
"I'll be okay." He slowly kissed her on the forehead. Then him and Taeyang left out the door. Umma came from my bedroom and helped me get ready for tomorrow.
"Come on Ji Eun. I'm sure Wooyoung will be okay. You have to rest." And quietly, I let Ji Yeon and umma lead me to bed.
~~~

Taeyang's POV

We were driving around the block for about thirty minutes until Seung Ho suggested we go for the park or something. It took us another 15 minutes, but we arrived at the park. It was wide and green and quiet. I looked at the time on my phone: 11:30 PM.

I sighed. "Where are you Wooyoung..." I said to myself.

I got out of the car and went to the passenger's seat to help Seung Ho out. He looked quite annoyed, but he let me help him onto his crutches. I looked around and only heard the quiet whisperings of the night. Then, I spotted him. I wobbled with Seung Ho over to the bench where Wooyung was sitting. When we were a few yards away, I decided to stop walking.

"Wooyoung." He turned around, and I noticed his eyes were weary, tired, and red. I could make a good guess and say he was crying. When he saw us, his eyes narrowed.

"What do you want?" he snapped. He was about to get up, but I stopped him.

"Wooyoung, we need to talk." He snorted.

"What about? Ji Eun? You want me to be your best man for your wedding?" he said it almost sarcastically. I sat down and pulled him next to me. Seung Ho decided to stand.

"Well actually, yes." He looked at me perplexed and I couldn't help but smile in amusement. "But I'm not marrying Ji Eun. That's your job." He looked away.

"I don't get it." I smacked his shoulder lightly.

"Me and Ji Eun aren't getting married. You saw it wrong. That proposal ring? It wasn't for her. It's for my girlfriend in the states." He was quiet. All the things I said began to stick in his brain.

"So...you weren't proposing to Ji Eun?" he asked. I could sense the hope in his voice.

I chuckled. "Ji Eun is like my sister..."

"You guys used to date." He said. I winced slightly. It was true. But I had moved on.

"Yeah you're right. But back then I thought that Ji Eun was the right girl for me. I thought that maybe, I finally found the girl for me. When I broke her heart, I was mad at myself for losing a chance with her. I came back before to try and win her heart again, but I realized that she had found someone else." I paused. "And that she was happier with him. At first, I was upset. But I knew better. It came to me when I saw you guys....that I wasn't the guy for her. And I had to accept that. Don't let her go yet. You never know what'll happen when you do." I patted his back, letting my words sink in.

I got up, nodding my head at Seung Ho signaling him that we should probably leave. He smiled at me, admiring my words. When we were a couple steps away from him, Wooyoung spoke.

"Thanks." I stopped in my tracks. Then I saw him grin. "Now I know that you really have moved on." I smiled at his humor. I was about to walk away, but I heard a thump. I turned around and found Wooyoung knocked out cold on the bench. I sighed.

Tired from all that crying. He gets it from Ji Eun.

Who ever thought that I would Wooyoung cry?

I walked over to him and Seung Ho helped me heave him into the car, but it was mostly me since Seung Ho was trying to help himself up. I texted Ji Eun saying that Wooyung was okay, but judging by the time, she wouldn't be getting it till tomorrow when she leaves.

Author's POV

Ji Eun woke up at around 4 in the morning to get herself dressed, fed, and awake. Her phone was playing 2PM's I'm Your Man on her desk, but she didn't take notice. She dragged her suitcase near the front door, and sighed.

It was morning of her leaving and she didn't get any news from Taeyang last night. Wait...where was her phone? Right when she was going to look for it, her umma appeared next to her.

"Come on honey. Your plane's departure is at 6:30. It's 5 now. We better get there as early as we can." Ji Eun nodded. Her new boss Ms. Bong Cha, also the producer that 'found' her talent, was going to meet them at the airport. They left the house, Umma locking the door. Ji Eun turned back and couldn't help but let a tear fall. She was going to miss this place so much. Ji Yeon came from around the block and crashed Ji Eun into a hug.

"I'm going to miss you so much." she mumbled in her hair. Ji Eun squeezed her back.

"Me too." Ji Eun told her that she would contact her when she got there, also adding that she tell her about Wooyoung and them. She promised and they left for the airport.
