Throughout our English class, I stole occasional glances at the campus crush, Choi Youngjae.

"Oh my goshhh, he's so handsome~"

I heard the two girls in front of me whispering. I guess they, too, were glancing at him. I can't blame them, though.

Youngjae is not just handsome, he is talented as well. He is a wonderful singer and he plays a few instruments, too. On top of that, he is part of the school's soccer team.

"For tomorrow's activity, you will be working in pairs. It'll be decided through draw lots just to be fair since you'd probably all want to be Youngjae's partner," the teacher jokes, making Youngjae embarrassed.

"Oh my gosh! He's so cute!" The girls exclaim in unison while the other guys shake their heads.

Will I be fortunate enough to be his partner...?

For tomorrow's activity, I decided that I will plan out my outfit. Usually, I'd just pick randomly and wear whatever I find inside my closet. Unlike other girls, I don't spend much time preparing myself for school.

"Well, I need to at least look presentable..."

The following day, I decided to wear a dress for a change. I still kept myself looking simple though.

"Wooow! Do you have a date?!" Jackson asked me.

As a response, I punched his arm lightly.

"You look beautiful. But really, what's the occasion?"

Before I can even answer, Jessica butts in, "She's hoping she'll be paired with Youngjae in her English class class.”

"Oooh. Well, I want to make fun of you but I’m late for my class so I guess I’ll tease you later. Good luck~" Jackson pats my head then heads to his classroom.

"Don't do anything stupid, okay?" Jessica tells me before shoving me inside my classroom.

"Waah, so supportive!" I mumbled to myself as I straightened my dress.

"Okay class, if you could all take your seats, please?"

Everyone does so and listened to our teacher.

"I'll be showing you in front the pairings I've come up with last night to save time. Again, this was decided via draw lots."

Then she showed a PowerPoint slide consisting of pairs of names.

ANDDDDD!!! Of course, I got paired with... a ramdom male classmate. Too bad.

The whole time, I tried to keep myself from looking at Youngjae and his partner. My partner, Jeff, deserves some respect, of course. And it's not like he wanted me as his partner, either.

Still, I can't help but feel disappointed. Youngjae has been my crush since primary school and this could have been the closest chance I'd get to talk to him.

In the previous years, there have been a lot of times I've tried to approach him but I've always chickened out. I mean, I'm still a girl and girls shouldn't make the first move, right?
