C48 - Part One.
Parallel Lines
On Saturday we all got ready at our houses before deciding that it was best to meet up at the race track, rather than having to travel all the way to the garages and then all the way to the high-rise which was basically just the high point of Seoul in terms for racers.
I parked my Chrome beauty in the designated spot next to Sehun’s, tonight I would be racing doubles with Kai. Luhan was racing too but his double was Chen.
“No Krystal?” Kai asked Luhan,
Luhan shrugged, “I don’t know, I’m not attached,”
“Good,” Lay laughed, “I’m overly glad you’re not,”
“Alright so the first race is Sehun and Lay,” Xiumin muttered whilst looking at his tablet.
I didn’t fail to notice that they were all wearing the gifts I bought them, even Lay with his Lady Rainicorn wrapped around his neck.
Sehun ruffled my hair, “Don’t move from the group okay?”
I raised an eyebrow at him, “Why?”
“I don’t know,” Sehun shrugged, “I just don’t like the other guys from the teams,”
“Thanks,” I smiled at him, “For always having my back, good luck out there,”
He smiled, “I have my luck,” he showed me his watch and winked before getting in his car,
Lay came over to me with extended arms, “Good luck hug?”
“I supposed I can let it slide this once,” I hugged him, “Besides I still owe you for the ice rink,”
Lay pulled away, “Did you ever ask them?”
“No,” I shook my head, “Not yet anyway,”
Lay laughed, “Alright!” he turned around and headed to his car, “Let’s get ready to rumble!”
Sehun and Lay lined up at the starting line, all of us were crowded around our own cars together, looking at the tablets and listening to our designated drivers.
Chen decided to move to stand next to me, “Try not to drift out there tonight Sara,”
“What why?” I asked him,
He frowned, “It’s too steep to think about it,”
“I’ll try my best,” I told him,
The race started, all of us focusing on the tablets of our own drivers, giving Sehun and Lay precise instructions when it came to the bendy roads and turns. It was neck and neck for a while before Sehun fell behind because he got lost behind two cars that blocked him off, giving Lay the win as he crossed the finish line with ease.
Kai came over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, “Ready?”
