Have you ever heard of a child's heart?

It's the best kind of heart to have in this world.

Because the love that comes out of it is pure and innocent, only wanting love in return.

Remember how Taemin is never nervous? Like, ever? Yeah he's going to have to admit that he's more than a little nervous. He's a little terrified, actually. All week Suyeon's been asking him questions about how much he knows about taking care of children.

"What can you cook? I'm asking because Hyeonwoo doesn't like rameun, it's too salty."

"Do you know how to perform the children's heimlich maneuver??? What if he chokes?"

"You know you can't buy him whatever food he asks for right? Don't be a pushover!"

Taemin decided he couldn't take it anymore once Suyeon approached him once again, worry on her face. "Do you--"

"Probably not, but Suyeon, you've got to trust me if you want me to babysit your kid." Taemin cut her off, turning to face her fully. Suyeon couldn't help but scoff at his statement. He quirked an eyebrow.

"What?" He asked, leaning closer towards her. She rolled her eyes in response, and Taemin thought that was all he was going to get out of her.

Suyeon opened , a real answer being provided, "I don't trust people, especially with Hyeonwoo." Taemin pursed his lips at this, considering her words. He nodded after a moment, choosing to respond back.

"Okay, then I'm going to need you to believe in me that I'll take care of Hyeonwoo." He offered, and Suyeon blinked up at him in surprise.

"....What?" She asked, urging him to repeat and explain his odd choice of words.

Taemin gave her a small half smile as he explained, "You don't trust me yet. I get that. Hyeonwoo's your precious kid, I get that too. But I need you to believe and have some faith in me that I'll be able to take care of Hyeonwoo. That's the only way this is going to work."
He was almost convinced that he had finally managed to stun Choi Suyeon into agreement. He should've known better, though.

"Wow, did you go to Granny Byun for that speech because that's one of the deepest things you've ever said." She snorted, shaking off the quiet moment. Taemin sighed. He really should've known.

"I can be thoughtful, Suyeon!" He insisted, adjusting his backpack. Suyeon smiled, shrugging nonchalantly.

"That's... surprising." She said. Her tone was teasing, and Taemin just smiled back. "Well, if that's all of your interrgations for the day, I'll take my leave. Also, I do know the children's heimlich remover, as for food, I'll figure something out, and he is king. Are you sure I should refuse him? And as for your last comment, I'm just going to have to keep surprising you, huh?" He teased, taking off down the hallway before Suyeon could come up with a decent reply.

As Taemin turned the corner, giving her one last wave, she barely waved back, trying to comprehend the exchange that just happened.

"...Please keep surprising me, Taemin..." She said softly, knowing full well he wasn't around but she felt the need to say it aloud regardless. She shook her head, shaking off the strange feeling and went off to class, her mind buzzing with scenarios of how the night could go.

"Oh, and his bedtime is 9. No later, got that? It's a school night, and as for baths or showers, the bathroom is over there..." Suyeon was rambling, holding Hyeonwoo to her hip as she endlessly listed things that she deemed important for Taemin to know. He honestly wasn't paying that much attention, being distracted by the buzzing that was going on in his pocket. He had forgotten that tonight was a party, and a huge one at that. It really bummed him out that he had to decline going. It sounded like it was a great time, from the messages Key and Kai were endlessly supplying him.
He shook his head, trying to rid himself of those thoughts. Gaining trust and frienship from the small Choi family was just as, if not more so, important to him as partying.
There were always other parties he could attend, anyways.

"Okay... am I forgetting anything?" Suyeon asked, snapping him out of his thoughts. Even though he had seen her in her work uniform plenty of times, he couldn't help but think she looked very pretty in the ensemble. Hyeonwoo made grabby hands at her, pouting.

"Goodbye kiss, momma!!" The four year old insisted, making Suyeon laugh and lean down, kissing him on the cheek. As she straightened herself out, Taemin grinned.
"What about a goodbye kiss for me?" He teased, not meaning it, but at the same time he wouldn't mind if she actually did. She rolled her eyes, giving him a look.
"You'll get a goodbye kiss when I think you deserve one." She shot back, a smile on her lips as she went out the door. Before it closed, Taemin managed to get out a, "I look forward to the day!"

And with that, it as just him and the kid. It was awkwardly quiet for a couple of minutes, before Taemin shrugged off his jacket and kneeled down to Hyeonwoo's eye level, smiling brightly.

"Alright, what's the plan, big man? You're obviously in charge here." Taemin asked, smiling as Hyeonwoo lit up and grinned.

"Trains!! Let's play trains!" The little boy insisted, dragging him to his room. Taemin let himself be tugged along, the kid was just too cute and sweet to resist. So far, so good.
Trains apparently involved not only the toy in question, but dinosaurs and a big peasant (i.e.: Taemin) trying to steal the trains from the king (i.e.: Hyeonwoo).
"Rawrrr! You can't stop me, not with my dinosaur minions!" Taemin growled, in an overexagerrated manner and raised the toy to come towards Hyeonwoo and his train. The toddler giggled and squealed, running away.

"You'll never take my train away, it flies and we're getting away!" Hyeonwoo cheered, thundering across the room with his little socked feet. Taemin sighed, grinning at the little boy's antics. Playing with this four year old was exhausting, but it was certainly entertaining and a lot more fun than he thought it was going to be. He loved kids, don't get him wrong, but Ta
