A week passed like this. We were awkward and shared in many more awkward conversations. Still, Hyunmin didn’t seem to give up. It was obvious that he knew what was going on but he still tried his best.

It made me feel worse about what I was doing.

“Hyunjae,” He called after me as soon as my classes were done.

“Yes,” I answered.

“I’ll take you home.” He suggested. I quickly shook my head.

“Ani, I’m going to get some tutoring over at Sandeul’s.” I told him. His facial expression dropped significantly.

“I can take you to Sandeul’s if you want.” He suggested. I shook my head again.

“It’s okay. I’m going to go with Sandeul if you don’t mind.” I said. He sighed.

“Are you sure you aren’t mad at me?” He questioned. This had happened several times this week. I always answered it the same way.

“I’m not mad.” I stated, looking at him in the eyes. He pursed his lips and let me go. It pained me to leave him like that. I found out this past week that I allowed myself to care about Hyunmin a lot more than I realized.

As for this missions, that is what I’ve been busy doing. Hyunmin’s dad kept me busy doing different things, but I didn’t worry about Hyunmin finding out. I assured him that this was our business.

Sometimes I wondered why I continued doing these missions. I mean if I was distancing myself from him what was the point of pretending to try and be his future wife?

Still I mindlessly did all of these things. As I walked with Sandeul, he continued to tell me that I needed to do the right thing.

“I’m telling you Hyunnie, you can’t keep torturing the poor guy like that.” Sandeul repeated for the umpteenth time.

“I know Deulie I know,” I answered. He frowned.

“Look, I’m serious. You either care about him and you’re going to do your best to keep your relationship with him, or you end it and quit torturing him.” Sandeul told me straightforwardly. I took a deep breath.

“Well Deulie, since you have all of the answers, what do I do?” I asked. He shook his head and wagged his finger at me.

“Ah see that’s where you’re wrong. I can’t tell you what to do. Only you will know what to do.” He informed me. I pouted at him.

“Well at least help me come up with an answer!” I exclaimed, getting annoyed. He put his hands up in defense.

“Araso araso. First of all, do you even care about him any more?” he asked. I nodded.

“Yes! If I didn’t care about him I wouldn’t feel so bad about doing this to him.” I answered.

“Can you get past what he did to you?” He asked. I frowned.

“Well, I can forgive what he did but forgetting is something else.” I told him. He nodded in understanding.

“Well this last and most important question. Can you live with out him?” He asked. The question made me stop in my tracks.

Live with out Hyunmin? Could I live with out a rich brat like Hyunmin?

“I-I d-don’t know,” I replied. Sandeul patted my back.

“Once you can answer that question then you can find out what to do.” He told me. I nodded and soon we were back in to a trivial conversation.

I went home quickly just to mope around the house. I knew that Hyunjae was still bothered by what happened, but I knew I was in no place to question her. Everyday since she’s started acting strange, I’ve been cursing Haejin. She hasn’t even appeared around me since that day.

“Oppa,” My little sister called. I turned giving her my attention.

“Ne,” I replied.

“Are you ever going to bring unnie around anymore?” She asked. My heart started to ache more after she said that.

“She’s just busy. I’ll try to bring her next time okay?” I told her. Aeri pouted but nodded.

Man Hyunjae is even taking a toll on my sister.

I pulled on my hair frustrated.

I can’t just sit here… I have to do something.
