Be my wife?
Your T Y P I C A L Rich BoyAfterschool I met up with Hyunmin and he seemed to have a serious expression on his face.
“What’s wrong?” I asked as I approached him. He pouted and held my hands.
“You know you mean a lot to me right?” He questioned. I nodded feeling suspicion rise up in me. Hyunmin didn’t usually give out compliments with out warrant.
“Yes…” I stretched out.
“Well, as my girlfriend I want you to do something for me,” He continued. I tilted my head slightly as I caught his gaze.
“Exactly what is that?" I asked. He smiled and pulled me in to a sudden hug making my heartbeat irregular.
“I want you to come home and meet my family,” He told me, my head still pressed against his chest.
“O-okay… sure,” I answered, not feeling capable of answering him with a full statement.
“Before we do that though,” He began again, letting me go.
“We need to talk,” He added. I shrugged. We soon got in to his car and stopped at a nearby park. We sat near a water fountain in silence.
“So Hyunmin, since you insist on acting all weird. What are we doing here?” I asked. He smiled thinly and looked down at my feet.
“Promise you’ll hear me out,” He started. I nodded. “Would you ever consider….marrying me?” He question softly. I leaned in because I didn’t catch the ending.
“If I would consider what?” I asked. He sighed and started again.
“M-marrying m-m-me,” He stuttered. My eyes widened.
“I um… I don’t know,” I answered honestly. His face portrayed visual embarrassment. His cheeks were pink and all of the sudden he couldn’t look me in the eye.
“Look, before you think I’m crazy i-,” He started. I interrupted him.
“You’re arranged to be married with Haejin and you think that if your parents would accept me as a potential wife you won’t have to get married to her,” I explained. He looked up at me surprised and nodded. Despite my calm exterior my heart was still racing at what he said.
“Don’t get me wrong though. I care about you, but I understand if you don’t know how to answer that,” he explained. I smiled gently at him.
“Look, I care about you too. I guess if it means that Haejin will stop trying to take you away from me, then I wouldn’t mind pretending to be your potential wife,” I admitted. I looked down at my feet feeling too embarrassed to look up at him.
Hyunmin wiggle his eyebrows teasingly. “Uwa… my potential wife, I never thought this was going to happen,” He joked. I shoved him playfully and he caught himself from falling in to the fountain.
“Yah, don’t take this too seriously. I care about you and all, and if you’re going to break up with me it better be because you want to… not because Haejin is wedging herself between us.” I told him. I felt the heat radiating off of my cheeks. I was embarrassed.
“This is why I like you. You care about me for who I am,” He commenting, pulling me in to a sideways hug. We sat like that for a while before we decided to go to Hyunmin’s house.
I was scared. I won’t lie, but I was excited to meet Hyunmin’s family. I was touched that Hyunmin liked me enough to take me to meet his family.
And just a secret between you and me, the thought of being Hyunmin’s potential wife made me giddy inside. Sure we were young, and maybe we might not last. Still, the past couple months being Hyunmin’s girlfriend made me think that there was a reason why I ended up here, with Mika’s family, who was Hyunmin’s friend, attending Hyunmin’s family’s school. Maybe, just maybe, it was fate.
So yeah i felt like this was too fluffy? Does anyone else feel that way? or was it fine? I'm trying not to lose Hyunjae's character through out this, but i realize that a girl that falls in love can change drastically so that's why i feel that her character shifting is okay. Still, let me know if this isn't flowing. I had an outline for this story but it's coming out much differently than what I expected it to ^^;. Anyways thanks for reading! Til next time Pyong~~
