The next morning I woke up to two guys shaking my bed. 

“Hyunnie bunny wake up!” Karam called pulling of my blankets.

“Wakie wakie Jaeni,” Onew added shaking me. I groaned.

Really out of all the days to come wake me up the decide to come wake me on a school day.

I rubbed my eyes and glared at the two boys on my bed.

“Not that I don’t love you two, but what are you two losers doing here? And how did you get in?” I interrogated

“We snuck in,’ Onew stated. My eyes widened slightly.

“How did you sneak in?” I asked. Karam laughed.

“Well your brother was eating outside so we snuck under the bushes and went in to the kitchen,” Karam explained.

“But then I slipped and the chef saw us,” Onew admitted, scratching the back of his neck embarrassedly.

“And we told the chef that we were your friends and we showed him a picture to prove it.” Karam told me, while holding out the pictures we took at the movies right before my parents’ accident. I smiled at the picture. We looked so young.

“So then we got escorted to your room.” Onew finished. I smiled and frizzled both of their hair dos.

“As much as I want to be mad at you two I can’t find the heart to be mad at you.” I commented hugging them. “Don’t you two have school though?” I questioned. They shook their heads.

“I’m “visiting my aunt” so I’m off,” Karam started.

“Well I’m going to skip school for an audition at SM.” Onew told me simply. I was a little more blown away by that. Good boy Onew never skipped school.

“Wow. You must really want this huh?” I commented. He smiled and nodded at me. “Well then why are you here?” I asked. Not sure why they were here in the first place.

“Oh we want to walk you to school just like the good ol days.” Onew confirmed. I smiled and put my hair up in a ponytail.

“Well I don’t walk to school anymore. Mika usually drives me.” I told them. They frowned.

“Well is your school really that far?” Karam questioned.

“It’s not that far, but it’s not that close either.” I told them. Both of them wore frowned not knowing what to do.

“Well we do have a driver. If you want I can ask the driver to take us to school.” I said. They shook their heads. “Well is there a plan B?” I questioned.

“The transit! Let’s take the train!” Onew suggested. I smiled and nodded. There was a subway station not too far from my school.

“Sounds like a plan.” I agreed giving both of them a high five. I got out of my bed, grabbed my uniform, and headed to the bathroom to change. When I walked out my friends looked at me and laughed.

“You’re wearing a skirt.” Onew grinned. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“I know I know shocker isn’t it?” I groaned, pulling on my skirt slightly. Karam hugged me sideways.

“You’re so cute…” Karam complimented me. I couldn’t help but feel smile tugging on my lips.

“Aish… you’re such a smooth talker,” I told him, pushing him off of me. Then all three of us casually walked out of my room. As if by luck, I also ran in to my brother and Hyunmin.

“Is it normal for your sister to walk out of her room with two guys?” Hyunmin asked, looking at Karam and Onew suspiciously.

“No… especially since I didn’t know they were here.” Mika responded, looking over at me with an expression that read, you better get to explaining.

“Well these two dorks snuck in.” I told them. Pushing my friends in to the fire, and literally towards Mika, both Onew and Karam smiled nervously.

“I don’t know how things work where you’re from but here you have to give some notice before you walk in to a person’s house.” Mika glared at the boys. Those words hit me like a brick.

“Mika!” I exclaimed, shoving him slightly.

“No your brother is right,” Karam started, looking down at the ground. I couldn’t help but feel bad for my friends.

“No he’s not. These are my friends and they have as much right as your friends to be here.” I told him, indirectly mentioning Hyunmin. Mika scoffed.

“Hyunmin told me ahead of time that he was going to be here.” Mika rebutted. I rolled my eyes.

“Oh well forgive my friends for trying to surprise me. Next time I’ll be sure to sneak out and meet them.” I added sarcastically. Mika kept quiet. “C’mon guys lets go,” I told Onew and Karam, pushing past my brother. I grabbed my things and walked out of our house.

“Look we’re sorry we made you and your brother fight,” Onew started, looking apologetic. I shook my head.

“Don’t be. He just doesn’t understand what you two mean to me.” I assured him, still walking.

“Still…we can’t come barging in like we used to. We have to face the fact that our little Hyunjae is living her own life,” Karam added, a little nostalgically. I shook my head.

“No you’re my friends and I don’t see anything wrong with you two being around.  Plus I missed you guys a lot. Mika needs to understand that I need a piece from home too.” I added. We walked silently for a while.

“Wait you didn’t eat breakfast did you,” Onew noticed. I smiled and nodded.

“It’s okay though. I tend to over eat when I’m angry,” I made up an excuse. The guys laughed.

“Let’s go to the little corner shop in the subway station. It’s probably not as gourmet as you’re used to but it’ll do.” Karam suggested. I smiled and nodded. On my way there Mika kept blowing up my phone with text messages and voicemails. I ignored them all though. I didn’t feel like talking to him or explaining myself to him.  Plus it wasn’t like I was going to skip school anyways.

[Time Skip]

Onew, Karam, and I ate happily on our way to school. I made it to school later than I usually did which was good since I didn’t run in to Mika. On the down side, Hyunmin was still in my class.  

“Where did you go this morning?” Hyunmin asked, as soon as I sat down at my seat.

“I came to school,” I answered simply. Hyunmin shook his head.

“You know eventually you have to talk to Mika.” Hyunmin told me. I nodded.

“I know but eventually doesn’t have to be now. I’ll talk to him when I feel like it.” I answered shortly. I heard Hyunmin sigh.

“Just give your brother some sympathy won’t you.” Hyunmin defended. I shrugged.

“I’ll think about it,” I told him. Then before we could discuss it any more class started.

I’ll fix things with Mika… but I just can’t do it now.
