The Candor AcademyNo matter what she did, everything reminded her of him. She has tried numerous ways to get rid of the empty feeling inside but it wouldn’t go away. She knew she missed him but she didn’t want to miss him.
“Miss Amber Liu!” Ms. Mi called, dragging Amber away from her thoughts.
“Y-yes?” Amber asked, startled.
“Would you please read the next poem in the book?” Ms. Mi asked, clearly annoyed from calling Amber for the last 10 times.
“Y-yes. Of course.” she bowed apologetically. Amber held the book up to her face and started to read:
You wear way too many masks
You wear way too many masks
Which one is the real you?
You wear way too many masks
I can’t tell which one is true
You wear way too many masks
Can’t you just take them all off?
You wear way too many masks
Now I’m just lost
You wear way too many masks
Because you’ve deceived me over and over again
You wear way too many masks
Because the person I first met was a pretend
You wear way too many masks
But I still try to uncover them
You wear way too many masks
Because I would always find a new one
You wear way too many masks
I’m giving up
You wear way too many masks
Because you’re trying too hard to cover up
You wear way too many masks
And you won’t take any off in the end
You wear way too many masks
So now, you’ve officially lost a good friend
“Thank you Miss Liu. Now…” Ms. Mi continued but it didn’t take long for Amber's mind to lose itself in it’s own thoughts again. This poem reminded her too much of him and herself.
