The two were friends before Infinite came about. Seeing each other became a lot more difficult with their different schedules. They saw each other less and less then for a while JiNa thought he was starting to forget her.

                “Sunggyu would never ever forget about you. I mean the two of you were practically dating,” JiNa’s brother, Sam commented. JiNa couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculous thought. Why would Sunggyu like her back? Sure he liked her, but not the way she felt about him. She was sure of that.

                “He didn’t even call me to tell me he was having a solo album. I learned from the internet. The internet, Sam.”

                “Well, don’t idols have some discretion thing where they can’t go blab about what they are doing until its official?”

                “I don’t know. Even if he couldn’t tell me until it was official, he still hasn’t talked to me since. I guess he’s moved on to bigger and better things.” JiNa brought her knees to her chest and gave a pout. The sound of her ringtone didn’t faze her as she stared at the floor deep in thought. Sam reached for the phone and was happy to see who was calling.

                “Sunggyu! Hi, it’s Sam here.”

                “I don’t want to talk to him,” JiNa told Sam. It made no sense to Sam. She was mad because he never called and when he finally did, she didn’t even want to speak to him.

                “Women,” he mumbled before answering Sunggyu’s question. “Sorry, my sister can’t come to the phone right now. She’s taking a really big dump in the bathroom.”

                “Sam!” JiNa screamed agape. She reached for the phone but Sam got up from the couch and began to back up.

                “I can smell it from out here. It’s bad.” JiNa chased her brother around until she got her phone back.

                “Hi, Sunggyu,” JiNa said. She glared at her brother and gestured with her hands, letting him know that he was dead once she was done on the phone.

                “Hey, I heard you got your own apartment,” Sunggyu said.

                “Yeah, it’s nothing fancy. I’m away from my parents though.”

                “Well do you think I could stop by?” JiNa looked down to see what she was wearing. She had her batman Pj bottoms she stole from Sunggyu on and a black t shirt. Her hair was up in a messy bun. Nowhere near prepared from Sunggyu to come over.

                “Stop by now?” JiNa questioned.

                “Yeah. I’m already here so you can’t say no.” JiNa heard the silence of her call being ended and she jumped at the knock on the door. Her hands shot up to her hair and JiNa looked to her brother for help.

                “Have fun,” he said heading toward the door. He opened it and let in Sunggyu before leaving and shutting the door behind him. The two stood their awkwardly as they looked at each other. It had been so long. Sunggy couldn’t help but notice his pj’s and smiled.

                “I see you still have those,” Suggyu commented. JiNa looked down at her pants and gave a shrug.

                “I mean they are pajamas and they fit.”

                “Yeah. They are mine though. At least they were until you took them from me.” JiNa rolled her eyes at his statement.

                “You didn’t exactly stop me from taking them in the first place. So you might as well say you gave them to me.” The two smiled at each other and JiNa went up and hugged Sunggyu tight. He wrapped his arms around his friend and they stayed there. JiNa didn’t want to let go. Didn’t want to know how long they had to stay like this.

                “I’ve missed you so much,” JiNa admitted. It was hard for JiNa to do. She spent so much time trying to get over Sunggyu but all progress is lost with every hug he gives. It felt right to her.

                “Well I have until the morning,” Sunggyu said. He pulled back to see JiNa’s face and saw a look of intrigue.

                “Morning? You want to stay the night?”

                “Yeah, I want to catch up.”

                Which the two did. They sat on the couch and snacked, talked, and enjoyed the night. Time went on and only when JiNa couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer did they stop. She woke in the morning to find herself on her couch covered with an extra blanket and smelled breakfast in the kitchen. Getting up, JiNa shuffled her way into her kitchen and found Sunggyu cooking. She stood and watched with a smile on her face. He wasn’t aware she had wakened and was singing a song she was not familiar with.  This should have made JiNa happy. Though she could only think about how after breakfast, Sunggyu would be gone from her life again. And who knows for how long?

                “You’re up,” Sunggyu exclaimed with a smile. JiNa nodded and got a glass down from the cupboard.

                “And you have to go soon, am I right?” JiNa avoided looking at Sunggyu as she poured her milk.

                “I wish I didn’t but solo debuts don’t just happen, you know.”

                “Yeah, I know that. It’s just…” JiNa couldn’t finish her thoughts for fear of what Sunggyu would think. How was she supposed to tell him that last night was one of the best nights? And if she didn’t know whether he felt the same she’d go insane from replaying the night over trying to analyze every detail.

                “Hey. If I could hang out with you like last night all the time, you know I would. You’re my friend. I care so much for you.”

                “Not enough,” JiNa grumbled. Sunggyu took JiNa’s wrist and turned her to face him. He opened his mouth as if to say something but couldn’t find the words. Instead, he leaned down and kissed his friend. She was quick to kiss him back and they parted at the sound of the smoke alarm. Sunggyu dashed over to the food and turned off the burner. JiNa stood behind him and checked the food with him. Burnt. Badly burnt. “I have cereal.”

                Sunggyu set the burnt food down and rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.

                “Cereal sounds good,” he said, looking at the floor. JiNa giggled causing him to light up and go for another kiss. “Sorry, you’re just so cute.”

                “I’m cute? If anything, you’re the cute one.” The two each got their bowls of cereal made and then stood in the kitchen to eat while they talked.

                “So I did this a little backwards but, um, do you want to be my girlfriend?” Sunggyu asked.

                “Only if you promise to leave the cooking to me.”

                “Okay. It’s a deal.” They finished their breakfast and then it was Sunggyu’s time to leave.  It wasn’t that bad because JiNa knew that she didn’t have to worry. She may go days without seeing him, but now she knew that she was on his mind.
