Kikwang was nervously sipping on his drink as he watched you and his friends talk just a few tables away. He knew you wouldn’t mind him sitting with them at the same table but Kikwang really wasn’t sure if he wanted to.

*I want to know what they’re talking about but I don’t want to either.* Kikwang groaned to himself. Kikwang slumped down, resting his chin on the table while watching you.

While being lost in his own world, Kikwang jumped in surprised when he saw you glance at him with a smile before turning your attention back to his friends. It was one of those rare smile you do when it was only you two and it also means that Kikwang did something that made you happy.

“Ah, what am I going to do?” Kikwang dropped his head on the table with a thump.

On the other hand, you looked over at Kikwang to see what he was doing. You couldn’t help but crack a smile when you saw him in a daze. He looked so much like a kid that you did wondered what he was thinking about.

“~~~~?” Yoseob drew your attention back to them.

“Sorry, I was distracted be Kikwang.” You played with the straw to your vanilla shake.

Doojoon raised his eyebrows in surprise, “You’re like…glowing.”

“Never heard that before and how does a person glow?” You asked.

“I don’t know.” Doojoon shook his head.

“Anyway, back to the topic please.” Yoseob whined.

You gave him a apologetic look, “Right, so I think I do like Kikwang too but I just really don’t know what to do, especially since we’ve been friends for so long.”

“I understand what you mean but don’t you think it’s okay to just do what you’re confortable with?” Doojoon asked.

“I’ve thought about it. Even when I was still dating my first boyfriend, we didn’t do much but I just felt like I wasn’t myself. Like I had to impress the other person and I don’t want to do that with Kikwang.” You sighed.

“You dated someone? Who?” Yoseob jerked forward.

“Ah…someone you guys don’t know. It was when I left and I rather not talk about it anyway.” You looked away.

It wasn’t as though you were hiding it but talking about Junhyung just brought back up unpleasant memories that you wished you could just forget.

“Sorry, um but I think you two would just work out fine since you guys know each other so well.” Yoseob tried to encourage you.

You shook your head, “We don’t know much about each other when it comes to some…important or personal things. Like, I didn’t even know that Kikwang liked me until just yesterday.”

“Let me just ask you this then, do you want to be with Kikwang?” Doojoon decided it was just best to cut to the chase.

“Yes and I know this may seem really weird but I’m scared, truly.” You rubbed your eyes.

Doojoon glanced over his shoulder to Kikwang then back at you, “Of what?”

“That I’m not good enough for Kikwang. He’s a really incredible person who deserve on the best.” You, all of a sudden, felt very insecure.

“Don’t say that, you’re an amazing person too. To Kikwang, you’re the best thing that has ever happened to him so have some confidence. You know the saying, you won’t know until you tried it.” Yoseob reached over to pat your head.

“I guess you’re right.” You slightly smiled.

“So does this mean that you and Kikwang are going to start dating now?” Doojoon asked.

You thought for a moment before answering him, “I want to talk with Kikwang first.”

“Okay, I would say take your time but I’m not sure if Kikwang is patient enough.” Doojoon joked.

“Thanks for listening and giving me advice even though this may be a bit awkward for you two.” You sincerely thanked them.

“That’s fine because you’re our friend too.” Yoseob flashed you a smile.

“I’m going to go talk to Kikwang now.” You stood up.

“Good luck.” They both cheered you on.

You slightly shook you head with a chuckle when you walked towards Kikwang. You had to admit, you were greatly thankful to Kikwang in making you meet those two.

“Kikw-“

You were about to call out to him but were cut off by the ringing of your cell phone. Since you were standing in front of him now, Kikwang looked up to in surprise. You picked up the call when you noticed it was Minju who was calling you.

“Hello, Minju?” You answered.

“Hello miss ~~~~, am I bothering you right now?” Minju asked over the phone.

“No, it’s fine. Did you need something?” You slightly turned away from Kikwang.

Minju paused for a moment before talking to you again, “Your parents want to talk to you. Do you have any spare time right now?”

“Depends on what it is that she wants.” You couldn’t help but frown at the mention of your parents.

“From what you’re father told me, he said it was some urgent business he need to talk to you with.” Minju said, “Sorry but I don’t know what it is about.”

You sighed, “Fine, you can come pick me up at my apartment. I’ll head over there right now.”

“I’ll see you later then miss ~~~~.” Minju ended the call.

“Did something happen?” Kikwang gave you a worried look.

You shook your head, “Nothing serious, I need to talk to you so I’ll call you later when I get back. Bye.”

You rushed out the door, heading back home. You wondered what it was that was so urgent that your father had Minju contact you. Usually it was your mother who relayed the issue to you, as your father was too busy with his work.

“Hopefully this ends soon so I can talk to Kikwang.” You mumbled to yourself.

I have a tendency of rushing things a bit especially on the romance so I'm trying to slow down a bit. Sorry if you don't like the slow build. The original plan was to make this more angst but I guess I'm better at making it fluffy so I won't give so much drama.
