It's Not Dates
MuteAfter school... (In the classroom)
"SO,", Jiae spoke. "I say that we head to the mall."
"Didn't you do that yesterday?", I asked.
"Pfft. Yeah."
"And?"
"Well, we did windowshopping.", Hyeomin said.
"And, for today, we will be SHOPPING!", Jiae said.
"Sorry,", I said. "Got plans."
Then, Jiae's eyes sparkled. "A date, perhaps?", she asked. No. Of course, not.
"Of course, not.", Hyeomin answered, before I could say anything.
"And, how do you know this?", asked Jiae.
"It's Yaejin.", she answered. "She doesn't seem like the person to be dating anyone. She is not fit for dating."
I, offended, felt angry. Not fit? What do you mean, exactly?
"Yeah, that seems like a good enough reason. It's about 30% true, for now."
"Well, if that's what you see of me, then, I'm sorry. You are wrong.", I said, standing up. " I do have a date."
Jiae smiled from ear to ear. Hyeomin's mouth hanged. "In fact,", I said, packing my things. "I am late." ANd, I went out the door. But, returned. "I forgot to say this, goodbye."
I went to the school gates. Drop my things. And...
I screamed.
"What do you mean not fit for dating?", I asked to no one. "It's not me, it's you not fit for dating! You and your rude attitude. You may not notice it, but, you are. I know it's just jokes, but, why me? Why do you have to joke on me? Same with you, Park Jiae. BOth of you are..."
I screamed once more. I was about to punch the wall when someone stopped me.
"Don't.", he said. "Don't punch the wall." It was a quite familiar voice. The one from that night. I looked at him. It started pouring rain. We ran for shade.
"You wouldn't want blood stains there.", he said.
"I know.", I responded, still looking at him. "Can you smirk for me?", I asked him.
"Why?", he asked.
"Just because." And, he did follow.
"So, it was you.", I said quietly.
As soon as the rain stopped, he walked me home.
"What were you doing still at school?", I asked.
"I was waiting.", he answered.
"Why?"
"You said you wanted to continue."
I blushed. "I didn't think you were serious about it."
He shrugged. "You're home now. I'll be going." He started walking.
"It's not dates."
"What?" He turned back.
"The lessons."
"If you want it to be called one, the, it's a date."
That's what he sounds like...
