Sixteen - 16

Wishes Can Come True

         {Sunhee}

The sun was beginning to set and the sky was gving off a warm violet-blue kind of color to the whole area. The sky, the air seemed peaceful. The school was also a little bit quiet now since it's late afternoon.

"Should I go?" I ask Kyungmin, who's right beside me.

We were walking down the hallway, taking our time, class was just finished and the halls were now jam-packed with students struggling to gt out of the school or to get to their lockers.

Kyungmin looks at me, as if I'm crazy. "Of course!" she said loudly, making me blush in embarrassment and slap her lightly on the shoulder. "I mean, come on! Not everyone can hang out with them! You should definitely go, unnie,

I sighed. Of course, I should of known better. Kyungmin would of really wanted me to go and she might even persuade me to. But, even with my best friend's support, I don't think I can still go.

I mean, if people spot me together with him again, then I think these rumors and hate would get worst.

But, then again, I wanted to be best friends with Jongdae again and I think he does too.

" . . . . unnie," Kyungmin's last words rang through my ears and I snap my head up. "What?" I blurted out.

Kyungmin laughed. "I said I'm going! I have a club meeting! You should be going to Chen right now too!" she sticks out her tongue and turns her back at me, her uniform becoming one with the rest of the other students.

I sighed to myself and leaned against the lockers. I closed my eyes for a brief moment and just stand there - waiting, debating, deciding and thinking.

But was where the to decide on? What was there to think about, really. I knew my mind was made and I have already made my decision.

Again, I sighed. I adjusted my backpack behind me and stared walking towards the school gates.

People pushed past me and didn't even bother to say 'excuse me', but I didn't really care. Rude people are the least of my troubles right now.

I had a lot to think about, a lot to decide on besides this.

My mind was elsewhere, it wasn't here in school. My thoughts eventually strayed off into another. My head was bent down, and I was walking at the sides to prevent myself bumping into another person.

But - "Mmpf!" My landed on the floor and I rubbed my chest. Something hard and pointy had definitely collided with me. And that something were all over the floor, scattered around me.

Without any further ado, I began picking the books up and stacked them. "Mian haeyo, I-I wasn't looking and I-Yi-Yixing?" I stopped my hand from picking up another book and looked at the boy before me, who was rubbing his head.

To my heart's desire, he looked up and gave me a loop-sided grin. "Hey, naega . . . neomu mian haeyo," he laughed lightly and began picking up some of the books too. "I wasn't looking too," he admitted.

I carefully stacked the books and when every single one was in our hands, we stood up and I placed my stack over his. "Where-where are you taking . . . these?" I asked shyly.

"To the library," he said. "Well, gamsahabnida, Sunhee,"

The sound of my name being said through his lips was enough to make me squeal inside my head. I smiled, I couldn't help it. And somehow, the way he was looking at me gave me some sort of courage to say; "You want me to help you?"

"Ah, aniyo, it's okay," he assured me. And evne though it wasn't the answer I wanted, my smile still didn't fade. "And anyway, aren't you and Chen going somewhere?"

"I-you know about that?" I blurted out. And before I could have all these thoughts and scenarios of Jongdae telling his kingka friends about our little hang out, Yixing said something right away.

"Don't worry, he only told me," he reassured me, his dimples showing as he smiled. "But, anyhoo, thanks again for the help-"he raised the stacks of books a little bit, showing me what he meant"-and mian hae,

"It's alright, I'm sorry too," I said and stepped the side to let him through.

"Annyeong, Sunhee," he said as he passed by me, without looking back and without glancing at me.

I smiled to myself and waved to his back. "Annyeong . . . Yixing,' I smiled wider as I continued  to walk to the school gates. I didn't even care of the people staring at me, the people who saw what happened back there.

All I could think of was; he knows my name.

       {Third Person Point of View}

As he looked back at her, seeing her disappear as the two of them walked farther away from each other, he smiled to himself.

Yixing . . . Nobody in school calls him that, except his friends. But they don't call him that all the time.

Everyone here always called him 'Lay', and for once; that girl - Cha Sunhee, had called him by his real name. He felt good hearing it, and it was weird. Because he never really felt anything special when his parents would call him 'Yixing' . . .

But, meanwhile, at the entrance of the school, at the side of the gates; stood Kim Jongdae, waiting patiently for Sunhee.

Outside, he looked calm and a little relaxed. But inside, he was already starting to lose his patience with her.

"What's taking her so long?" he asked himself as he kicked a small rock away from him. "Surely she'll come,"

It was already fourteen minutes after their class was finished and his excitement of hanging out with Sunhee again faded as he waited for her by the gates with each passing minute.

When he heard laughter, he looked up and scanned the faces of the students who were exiting the school gates.

Nope, nope, nope, nope, no-ah, nope, . . . . Ah! He smiled when he saw the glasses-free nerdy girl walking his way. "Yah! Sunhee!" he screamed.

The girl clicked her tonuge in irritation and bent her head. Oh, great . .  she thought to herself. People will now know that she's going to hang out with Jongdae today.

When she stopped in frontf him, she sighed. "Please don't shout again," she said before looking up at him.

Unlike Jongdae, Sunhee was a little embarrassed by him shouting at her in front of all the people were passing by. Which was ironic because she wasn't evne the one who shouted.

"Oh-uh-okay, he he. Mian," he smiled nervously and scratched the back of his head with a small smile on his face.

She also managed to smile a little bit and she even laughed. "It's alright," she assured him.

"Yeah, uh, so, sh-shall we . . . um, go?" he pointed to the sidewalk ahead of them and he smiled more comfortably.

Deciding to , Sunhe acted like she was bored and not interested. "Yeah, whatever," she mumbled.

He pushed her playfuly by the shoulders as they started to walk; headed for the bus stop right around the corner. "Yah! Don't do that! I promise you, this day will be really fun and you will never forget it, Cha Sunhee!"

Sunhee found herself smiling as he said his complete name. "Ah, jinjja-yo?" she said, looking at him curiously. "We'll see about that,"

"Oh, you will see once this evening will unfold," he muttered. "You will see, Cha Sun . . . Hee. That rhymes!" he said the last two words in a childish manner and then he laughed a little too loud.

"Yah! Jongdae!" Sunhee hissed, noticing the irritated look on people's faces. "Stop that!" she scolded him as she grabbed his arm. "People are watching!"

She let go of his arm and he just chuckled. "Let them!" he said then shrugged. "Besides, I'm not the only crazy-looking, childish person in Seoul,"

"But right now, right here, you are," she said under her breathe. Sighing, she walked alongside him again and as they neared the bus stop, a question popped inside her mind. "Where are we going?" she asked.

Instead of answering straight-on, Jongdae settled for a cheeky and mischievous; "You'll see,"

Chapter 34: This is really good. It's rare to find nice Chen and Lay stories. I've enjoyed every chapter and to be honest, I'm torn between the two at the moment. Just like how Sunhee is neutral right now. Jongdae is a very nice guy who Sunhee is comfortable with. Yixing is her first love and the one she has always hoped to be with. But I think sometimes, she's just fooling herself when she tries to think that her feelings for Jongdae are completely platonic.

Anyways, I'm enjoying the plot and progression of the story. There are a few typos in most chapters, but I'm sure when you have the time to edit them, everything will be perfect :). Fighting, auhtor-nim!
