Please be fine
Dawn of the Rising Star
Yongguk glanced at the aftermath of the battle scene; he ordered his men to leave and stop the fight. As promised, he would not take his chance on EXO. He looked down at his latest victim; her serene and peaceful face pierced him right through his heart and out of sudden, guilt engulfed him. He didn’t want to kill her, never. He wanted something else from her and managed to get it. But he had no choice and had to hurt her in the process. He knew his power could be deadly. At the moment, he felt regretful. That was the first time he ever felt towards his victim; regret. He stared at her for the last time before leaving. He silently prayed for her as he looked down and walked away. He prayed she was going to be fine.
Kai rushed by Lyorin’s side. She was not breathing and he quickly searched for her pulse. Thankfully, her heart was still beating but slowly. He knew that she could still be treated and even it was a slim chance, he remained hopeful. EXO boys scrambled and crowded around. Despite being injured, they were oblivious and could only worry for Lyorin than their own. They didn't bother to chase BAP, who had left. Lyorin was their priority. Her life was the most important thing at that moment.
Kai tried to resurcitate Lyorin by doing rounds of CPR while waiting for Lay to reach her and use his power on her. He wasn’t going to waste any precious time. "Come on Lyorin. Breathe!" Panic spread across his face as Lyorin remained unresponsive. Time was clicking and he knew that every second passed, her life was spiralling down the abyss. Suho came and knelt by her side. The rest of the boys circled around with their hearts contracted in pain looking at her. "Lyorin, please!" Tears rolled down Kai's cheeks; he was crying. It’s been a while he cried.
"Kai, let me." Lay finally came. Instantly he used his power by hovering his hand above Lyorin's right chest where her heart was. He shut his eyes and used all the remaining strength he had to revive Lyorin. Sehun was already in tears and Chen tried his best to comfort the youngest even though he was extremely worried for Lyorin as well. Tao injured his leg and had to be supported by Baekhyun. Lay could actually heal him if he wanted to but right now, no one else needed Lay's power other than Lyorin. Kris knelt beside Lyorin, clenching his fists. At that moment, he felt useless and utterly disappointed with himself. He failed.
Lay continued until he finally got Lyorin's breathing back in her. She opened her eyes and jerked up as she stuggled to breathe normally. Blood dripped down Lay's nose as he slumped backward; all weak. He had used up all his strength. Irregardless, he managed to revive Lyorin and that was all he could be thankful for. Luhan caught Lay before he dropped to the ground; lending his brother the support. Lay was conscious but too weak.
Lyorin jolted up with her eyes wide opened. Suho, who happened to be by her side, hugged her tightly yet carefully to avoid hurting her. All his worries vanished instantly, knowing that Lyorin was safe. "Lyorin, I got you. I got you." He whispered tenderly. However, out of a sudden, Lyorin's head dropped to the side of his shoulder and she lost conscious. Suho panicked. "Lay! What is happening to her?!" He yelled in fear. He thought Lay had healed her completely but seeing her losing conscious again, his worries reappeared.
"Hyung....she's not fully recovered. We need to bring her back. I...have..medicine." Lay coughed weakly.
Kris understood and took the lead. "Suho, let me." He bent down and placed his arms underneath Lyorin and lifted her effortlessly. Since he knew he would be the fastest to reach the mansion with his ability to fly, he carried her. But just when he wanted to fly with Lyorin in his arms, his feet rooted to the ground. He tried as he might but he just couldn't use his power.
D.O placed his hand on his leader's shoulder and explained, "Hyung, all our powers have weakened because Lyorin is at her lowest form. Remember, she's our source of strength. When she's weak, we are weak as well. You can't use your power." Kris remembered now.
"Lyorin, hang on." He whispered. He held on to her tightly and started walking fast; almost jogging. Even though his power had weakened, he was still physically strong enough to bring her back safely. The rest of the boys followed closely, helping and supporting each other's injury. Luhan and Sehun supported Lay who was needed the most as well. They had to make sure he reached quickly as well since he was the only one who could cure her. The rest scrambled along. Kai's eyes were fixed on Lyorin's pale face and he cursed at himself for not being able to use his power on her.
Aunt Marie was dusting off the last bit of dirt on the table when suddenly she heard a loud bang as the front door jerked open. Her jaw dropped as she saw Lyorin draping on Kris's arms; not moving.
"Oh goodness. Lyorin!!" She screamed as she witnessed the scene. "Oh God. Kris, what happened to her?" She tried shaking her but there was no response.
"I'm sorry Aunt. We need to get her treated immediately." Kris ran up the stairs and barged in straight to Lyorin's room. He laid her down gently on the bed while Lay went to get the medicine. Aunt started crying as she sat by Lyorin, holding her hand. Kris stepped back, giving Lay some space to heal her.
"Aunt, can you help jab this please?" Lay passed a bottle of unknown liquid to Aunt Marie. She carefully took out the needle and began preparing the necessary procedure without asking what medicine was. She fully trusted Lay. Being a nurse, Aunt was an expert. She held onto Lyorin's arm and gently poked it with the needle letting the medicine oozed into her bloodstream. Once done, she took a warm wet towel and started wiping Lyorin's forehead.
After which she asked the boys, "Suho, Kris, what happened?"
"We were attacked by BAP." Kris answered.
"Who? BAP? How did they manage to find us here? We need to inform Mr. Lee!" She cried.
"Yes, we will.... Aunt, we're...sorry" Suho apologised and bowed down.
"Don't apologise. Without you guys, Lyorin would have suffered worst. Thank you." Aunt patted his back, assuring him that no one was to be blamed for the misfortune accident. "Okay, I need to get all of you treated." She looked at their injuries and instantly helped out with them. Lay couldn't use his power to help out since he had used up all of his on Lyorin.
Kai was still standing by the bed, staring at Lyorin. His eyes were soft as he looked at her sick face. He wasn't suffering any severe physical injuries but his inside was dying in pain. He was the only one who witnessed every second and the nearest to her, yet he was useless. He couldn't do anything. Luhan placed a hand on Kai's shoulder and said softly, "Kai, don't blame yourself."
After treating to their injuries, the EXO guys gathered. The mansion was quiet as everyone was still weak and injured. "I've already informed Mr Lee about our attack. He expressed his shock and didn't expect BAP to find us here. He will be sending help to us and Lyorin. So guys, we need to be in constant vigilant." Kris stated. It didn't have to be said. It was obvious the guys had to be extra alert now especially when BAP already knew their territory. "Lay, will Lyorin be alright? How bad is her injury?" Kris turned to Lay. All eyes were on him, waiting for his response.
"The medicine will help in restoring her strength but..." Lay abruptly stopped and gulped. "...the side-effects, I don't have medicine for that." He declared solemnly. The EXO boys understood him. They were all perfectly aware of Yongguk's power. His power was not to be taken lightly.
“Lyorin, please be fine.” Sehun choked on his words, holding back his tears. Luhan hugged the worried youngest member and hoped for the same.
