“You ruined my life…” his words echo in my head.

“I don’t know what you did, but now I’m out of the job. Is this how you repay my kindness for letting you transfer?” What kindness? I try to out his piercing arrows out of my mind, but they were barbed and refused to move.

“I will take revenge not only you, but everyone who tries to help you.” His gleaming smile leaves a permanent stain in my sight. “Don’t you know? I know all of your secrets.”

“NOO!!” I could hear myself scream, struggling against my restraints. If only I could believe that he was only taunting, trying to get his revenge that way.

But I had a feeling that his revenge was much more complex than just holding me here and letting me waste away. That was enough to make me weak and be submissive.

“So how does it feel like to not be able to do anything?” I could hear Hua Shang taunt behind the bars.

“It feels familiar.” I had no energy to disguise my physical weakness, no energy to lie.  I lifted my head to look at her. Her gleaming clothes and glittered eyes looked foreign in this dark and musty prison. “You must hate me a lot to put me here,” I tried to joke.

“You don’t know anything,” she lashed out. “Before you came, my life was perfect. And here you are, threatening to steal everything I had.”

“What am I trying to steal?”

“Attention.” Her eyes narrowed, as if trying to shoot non-existent fire at me. “Tao.”

I let myself collapse on the wall behind me. “You can have Tao, but does he want you?”

“I-I…” I saw the venomous expression on her face falter.

“I don’t know anything about love. I still don’t. But from what I heard, relationships involve two people’s consent.” I stopped to breathe. “Nothing is going to happen unless you both agree.”

“And you would know,” she hissed.

I kept a steady gaze on her. “I do.”

Her eyes widened as my words sunk in. “YOU, LITTLE!” She shouted, banging against the bars.

I smiled. “It might help if you unlock the door, especially since I’m chained up.”

She fumbled inside her pocket but then a booming voice called out, “Hua Shang!”

“Yes, Uncle!” She immediately stopped and stood up straight.

Mr. Hua walked in. “There has been a change in plans.” He seemed to be grinning. “Give me the keys. I need to release Kai Lian’s handcuffs.”

“What? But-“

“There is no way she can escape,” he scoffed. “She is still so weak. And sooner or later, she will have to leave the cell. She will be handcuffed then.”

Hua Shang sighed and handed the key ring over.

He unlocked my door and knelt down to unlock the cuffs. When they opened, my hands instantly came in front of me. I rubbed my wrists, wincing at my raw skin.

Quickly, Mr. Hua exited the cell and closed the door, locking it, so even if I tried, I would have no chance to escape.

“Why are you doing this?” Hua Shang asked.

I could see Mr. Hua’s triumphant smile out of the corner of my eyes. “Because another puzzle piece of my plan has arrived.” He turned to the way he had come. “Bring him in!”

No! They were going to bring another guy in to torture me, I just knew it. I closed my eyes tightly.

I could hear some scuffle and a sound of struggle, and a slight gasp, perhaps form Hua Shang. Dang it, the guy was going to be tough. He’s probably been waiting to give punishment ever since Mr. Hua called him up. I buried my face into my knees, clutching myself together. My heartbeat pounded through my ears as I waited for the first hit against my flesh, the crack against my skull.

“Have fun!” Mr. Hua cackled. There was the sound of footsteps and someone being dragged before merciful silence took over the room.

Tears came to my eyes. I’m going to die, I’m going to die, I’m going to-

“K…Ka…lyn…”

I lifted my head to see through the bars Tao’s scratched up face.

Just a thought. Well, a thought ever since I started this story. But I finally got around to thinking of pairings with the other members.

You can go and request in the comments which members you want first. When I make a sequel, it's probably going to be an EXO-K member...but I guess it doesn't have to. So far though I've only come up with related powers for Lu Han, Lay, Baekhyun, and maybe Kai.

Yeah. Anyway, I need to start writing the next chapter...see ya!
