Amber didn’t return in our cell until the following day. Eomma said the doctor let her rest first because Amber complained of headaches.

The moment she entered the cell, i saw how her black eye turned violet and the scratches on her face still red. I don’t know how to face her that day... I’m so ashamed of what i did.

Eomma was holding my hand, telling me that it’s okay. Ssul and Puppy welcomed her and lead her to sit in front of me, a good one meter away.

 

“Eomma...” she bowed at Eomma but she didn’t even looked at me. “I’m okay now the doctor gave me painkillers and i already had a rest.” I dropped my head down afraid to meet her gaze.

"That's good Ambo! How was your stomach?" Stomach?

But still, what I did to Amber is worthy of a whole lot of sorry. Considering that I inflicted pain on her body, Ssul said I was like a mad woman when it was happening. My eyes were closed and was crying, but my punches, kicks, and scratches connected.

"I told you to call me Amber.." she narrowed her eyes on me, obviously teasing. Puppy was grinning, urging me to speak.

 

"A-amber... I just want to say s-sorry.. I'm really sorry..." She chuckled then scratched her head. It was a cute gesture coming from her.

"Haha... That's okay 1024... I panicked when you suddenly shouted that morning. I don't know what to do and my first instinct is to hold you and wake you up. I didn't know waking you up is that hard hehehe..."

"Next time Amber, learn to dodge her kicks and punches. Hehehe..." Ssul said winking at me.

 

Eomma patted my back and looked at me with a smile on her face "Don't worry 1024, we are all here to help you overcome that. You already started picking up the pieces slowly... You opened up to Amber the other day faster than the three of us, that means you are trying your best. You can do it 1024... We are a family here.." I nodded at Eomma and gave her a small smile.

"Food ration!" We turned our heads to the door and Minzy was there peeking at the window.

 

"Yah! Minzy! What's for snack?" Puppy asked her while opening the small door to get our ration. Eomma stood up to help Puppy and also having a small chitchat with Minzy while Ssul readied our table. Amber and i was left sitting on the floor facing each other.

 

I suddenly felt shy with the way we were looking at each other. She cleared and scratched her head "You know... I'll forgive you in one condition..."

 

"H-huh? What c-condition?"

 

She smiled at me and inched a little closer in front of me "Let us call you in your real name... And not just your prisoner number 1024."

 

I looked down fidgeting with my hands then looked up at her again "Why? My name isn't clean anymore...l-like me.." I bit my bottom lip after saying that last words.

 

"I'm not clean too... I made a horrible mistake that's why I'm here. But that doesn't mean I can't use my name anymore. My name is only the most precious thing I have left of me." Her eyes show sincerity and compassion.

Ssul said she just got out of a failed relationship before entering the facility. Doesn't she love her girlfriend? I mean ex- girlfriend? Is the cheating and betrayal that hard, she moved on in such a short span of time?

"O-okay.." I squeaked surprising me.

Ssul and Puppy suddenly burst out in laughter and Minzy too who was outside.

 

"Oh my God! That was so cute of you 1024! That's the first time I heard that from you hehehe..." Minzy said making me blush.

 

I immediately stood up embarassed and helped Ssul prepare the table
