Sooyeon's POV

I’m having a bad feeling this Song Bao Lian has a thing for Yuri. The way he stared at Yuri yesterday at the airport and when he shook her hand, his eyes has this glowing thing and I don’t like it.

Even though Yuri and I aren’t official, we still hold exclusivity with each other. I’m not going to let some idol looking gorgeous guy snatch my Yuri away from me!

The annoying thing is, Yuri seems to be enjoying the attention that Bao Lian is giving her.

Like the now!

He came at around 7:00 ing a.m. for breakfast, an hour earlier than what he originally said to Yuri. I was planning a morning ‘exercise’ with her and it all went down the drain when he called on Yuri’s new iphone which she said came from the nice guy.

And what’s annoying is, she quickly got out of bed and went to the showers leaving me hanging on the bed, frustrated and mad.

She told me I should get ready immediately because after the breakfast, Bao Lian will accompany us to the Zhang Mansion and possibly meet that Zhang Yixing. That’s what made me pull my out of the bed and straight to the bathroom too brushing my teeth.

We met Bao Lian downstairs at The Lobby, making my eyebrow raise again because of how he looks.

Damn it!

Why does he have to be that good looking?!

And why is Yuri smiling at him like he’s some Chinese Deity that’s going to give her eternal life?!

He looks effortlessly… handsome and stylish… and fresh.

At ing 8:00 in the morning.

I can’t enjoy my breakfast hearing how he and Yuri are so comfortable chatting about the weather and the cars that he used yesterday. Its not because Yuri wants to have it, she’s a car enthusiast and well Hello! He is too! Even boasting his classic collection.

“Wow… I never imagined you being interested in cars Yuri… a pretty lass like you have a very different interest.” I was secretly stealing glances at the unsuspecting Yuri and the heck! I saw her blush!

“It was a hobby I enjoy, admiring them and wishing that one day I got to drive just one. Yesterday when we were driving in the freeway and was sandwiched by those 2 gorgeous cars, my gills were alive hahaha… although I don’t have g-gills… yeah…”

“That’s lovely of you…” wow. He’s smooth. “This is the first time I’m talking about my hobby with a pretty lady that also have the same interest like mine. This is absolutely incredible… like how incredible you are.” he flashed his signature smile and how I wish I can smack Yuri’s head right now.

I stomped on Yuri’s feet under the table in sheer annoyance making her accidentally spill the OJ she’s drinking. Huh!

But boy…. I don’t know why this is happening. Karma does strike fast.

“Oh my God! My shirt!”

“Here Yuri…” damn he’s a gentleman. He gave his neatly ironed and folded manly Hugo Boss handkerchief to Yuri who is now glaring at me because the juice stained her favorite white linen shirt that she loves to wear.

I suddenly felt guilty about what I did. It was never my intention to make it happen, all I did was stomp on her feet. I didn’t know it will cause a catastrophe… sigh…

“Mianhe Yuri… come on let’s get you change upstairs.” I bit my lips looking sorry. She sighed and turned to Bao Lian smiling much to my jealousy.

Yes, I am JEALOUS.

Because it seems like she’s having a crush at that…. Chinese deity looking guy and I’m so insecure. Maybe because he’s a guy and he is from a respectable family while me, I’m nothing.

“Bao Lian, I’ll just go upstairs quickly. When I get back, maybe we can go to our destination.”

“I’ll come with you—“ I stood up from my seat but Yuri stopped me.

“No Sooyeon. I’ll be quick, just stay here with Henry and Bao Lian. Maybe you can discuss to him Soojung’s case and other stuffs.” Did she just ing coldly looked at me?!

This is the first time I’m seeing Yuri like this. She seems really annoyed that all I can do is nod my head in surrender.

The moment Yuri rounded the corner, Bao Lian cleared his throat and smiled apologetically at me.

Why are you smiling like that?!

“Miss Jung… I would like to apologize if my presence seems to bring trouble in your relationship with Yuri.”

He’s still nice even though all I did is glare at him and raise my eyebrow. Sigh… why do you have to be a nice guy?

“Don’t say that Mr. Song… it’s me who should say sorry to you. I think I’m making you uncomfortable with my rudeness. I’m really sorry…” he smiled kindly at me then scratched his neck.

“You can’t really be find at fault because it’s just natural that you get jealous. Seeing your girlfriend talking to a lad…” I really wish we are like that Bao Lian. But we aren’t…

I took a sip of my tea before answering him with a faraway look on my face. “We are not together… Yuri and I. We don’t have a label… yet.” I looked at him waiting for his reaction.

All he has is his neutral face, like it was nothing to him.

Maybe I’m just imagining things. Maybe he’s not really interested on Yuri as a woman, maybe he’s just admiring Yuri’s profession.

I cleared my throat and turned serious “I just want to ask… are you close to your cousin Zhang Yixing?”

He took a sip of his tea then shook his head “Our parents might be siblings but we don’t really see each other regularly. We are civil, we greet one another in family gatherings but that’s just it. Yixing’s mother died giving birth to him, he was 10 years old when Uncle Feng remarried and transferred to Australia to supervise our ranch out there. The poor kid was left on Uncle Wu Fan’s care since our Uncle doesn’t have a family of his own.”

“I see…” I absorbed all the information he gave me. So this Yixing seems to have a sad childhood…

“He’s quiet but sweet and polite. I remembered playing with him once when we went to Singapore to attend a family gathering. Uncle Wu Fan is really fond of him and treats him as his own son, while Yixing treats him as his own father instead of Uncle Feng.”

I stared at the ring on his finger, it looks like a family crest and the other ring looks like a…

“Umm… pardon me. Is that a wedding ring on your finger?!” He’s married?!

He raised his hand and stared at his fingers then let out a chuckle. “Is it this one Miss Jung?” he pointed at the silver band on his ring finger. I raised my eyebrow at him really suspecting of something but all he answered me is a soft laugh.

“This ring is given to me by my sister, Qian. It’s our sibling ring… a sign of bond for the two of us. Even if she’s far away… this keeps us connected.” there was sadness behind the smile he has and I understand it.

Both our sisters are serving their sentence and coincidentally together inside the same cell. I’m grateful to her sister for taking care of Soojung for all those times my sister needs help and guidance.

“Your sister is a good woman. Did you know she and my sister Soojung shares the same cell?” his face lit up and nodded at me.

“Yes, Yuri told me. And she told me her sister too is with them, that your sister Soojung and Amber considers Qian as their mother.” the smile on his face is so genuine and at the same time happy. All three of us have something in common: our sisters.

He smiled at me softly while playing with the table napkin “I miss my sister very much… I’m waiting for the day Uncle Han Geng finally file the request for her parole so she can be with us again. I want her to forget everything that happened and start her life all over again.”

I nodded at him smiling and thinking of Soojung, my desire to reverse the sentence and to give her the justice denied by those corrupt authorities. All I wish is for Karma to strike the lives of those involved in her case, we will find a way to free her and we are one step closer.
