My new home.

Wonder if my room mates are nice?

... What if they punch me and maul me to death once I enter this room?!

The moment I entered the numerous gates after talking to Director Kwon, I can hear the song 'Gangster's Paradise' playing on my mind.

I feel like singing...

I'm sober but it's like I'm stoned because of the numerous thoughts I have.

Are there gangsters in here like in other prisons?

What will my fellow cell inmates do to me?

Kick me in my stomach? Pull my blonde hair?

Or maybe shove me on the floor and tell me, 'You deal with drugs, now sniff the dirt on the floor!'

Sigh.

I just hope they are nice and my whole stay here will be peaceful.

Officer Choi was still with me and another female jail officer. She introduced herself to me earlier as Officer Kim.

"Here you go 0918, your new home." She inserts the key in the hole and opened the large metal door. I wasn't really looking inside, just staring at the floor.

I stepped inside holding my box of belongings, my head down. Too afraid to face the people inside. Coolio still rapping Gangster's Paradise on my mind.

I heard the locking of the metal door and I cringe on the sound. Taking a deep breath, I introduced myself to the people around.

"Annyeong... My name is Liu Yiyun but you can call me Amber. I hope we can be good friends.." I bowed as low as I can without getting up.

There was some murmuring around but I don't know who is it. I just kept on my bent position waiting for them to tell me 'Stupid! Stand up!'

"Eomma, I didn't know our facility is a co-ed place..."

"Yah! What's this?! A university?!"

"Sssshh! Puppy, 1024 is sleeping. You'll wake her up.. don't wake her up or you'll see her wrath."

"0202, but he's a guy..."

"1024 will freak out if she's around some guy again! Remember what happened--"

"I don't think so.. I don't know... Maybe we can ask the person in front of us you know..."

"Eomma why isn't he moving? He's just bent there... What's his name?"

"Yiyun Ambo..."

I can't help but blush on their conversations. They sound like they are nice persons. And funny too..

Someone cleared a throat and spoke to me in a full voice. It's authoritative... Like a mother's voice when your mom is asking you why did you come home late.

"You know... You can face us. We won't hurt you or anything."

I looked up and saw 3 girls sitting on the wooden floor looking back at me. They were staring at me from head to foot with curious stares.

Well it's not new. Even on the streets a lot of people stares at me curiously because of my androgynous looks and tattoos. Yuri unnie said I look like a pretty guy. My tattoos are covered now because of our long sleeve prison uniform. So it's my face they are curious at.

There was this tall, thin girl with long hair and smiling face waving at me. The one beside her was also smiling but you can see the authority exuding from within her like she's a CEO or some big wig while the 3rd one has this sun shiny bright smile on her face full of kindness.

One, two, three.

I thought we are 5 in here... Where's the other one?
I saw a foot sticking out at the side. She must be sleeping behind the other girls.

Deep breath, smile Amber.

"A-annyeong..." I squeak causing them to burst out laughing. Well the tall one and the short one only because the girl in the middle was composed but smiling.

"Oh God... You are a girl indeed! Bwahahahaha!!!!" I scratched my nape due to shyness. Embarassed that they saw my weakness.

Yeah... That's my weakness. When I'm nervous or embarass, I squeak. I don't know why... I can't explain it too.

"Shhh!" The girl in the middle smacked their heads shushing them. She glared at the two and they stopped, behaving like good puppies covering their mouths.

I think the girl in the middle is the leader here. Good God... This is what I get for watching dramas.

"I'm sorry for these two, they forgot to take their medicines. Sometimes they lose their minds and do weird things." She said to me smiling kindly.

Medicines... Lose their minds... Weird things...

What the!?

Are they lunatics posting as prisoners!?

"My name is Song Quian or 0202, that's my prisoner number. These are Jinri and Sunyoung.." I bowed at her lightly as respect.

"I'm Choi Jinri and my prisoner number is 0329. I've been here for 2 years.." the tall girl waved at me with a cheeky smile on her face.

For someone who's been imprisoned for 2 years she looks so happy.

"Annyeong!! I'm Sunyoung! My prisoner number is 0812 and I've been here for 4 years! I hope we can be good friends!"

Daebak.... 4 years and you're so happy girl... You're not even stoned.

"I'm glad to meet you all..." I smiled at them and my eyes darted to the pair of feet that is starting to move at their back.

I heard a faint voice, soft like a murmur. The girl 0202 crouch at the one sleeping on the floor, I saw that her back was facing me.

"Eomma..."

"1024... I'm here... Shhh... Go back to sleep. We're just welcoming the newcomer.."

"Hey 0918, can I call you Ambo?!" The ball of energy 0812 asked me and pulled me to sit on the floor. I placed down my box and sat on a space she pointed.

"Y-you can call me Amber..."

"Oh! Am-bo.." she can't pronounce the last syllable haha.

"Yah! She said Am-bur!" The tall one I think she's 0329, pushed 0812's shoulder playfully and sat beside me.

I smiled at them chuckling. Why are they here? What did they do to be lock up in this place?

"Am-bur-ssi, just call me Ssul, that's my nickname.."

"Just call me Puppy, Ambo ssi."

I nodded at them smiling. The girl lying on the floor sat down slowly, her back still facing me as Prisoner 0202 is whispering on her ear.

She nodded her head to whatever 0202 whispered to her and fixed her hair.

Prisoner 0202 turned to me and smiled. "Amber-ssi, just call me Eomma. I'm the oldest here, and the leader of this cell. Don't worry I got your back."

"T-thank you E-eomma.." I bowed lightly at her.

Thank God!

I'm still a lucky soul.

As if reading what's on my mind, Puppy nudge my shoulder and chuckled "Ambo-ssi, she's a little shy that's why she's not turning around. Eomma is soothing her because she had a hard time sleeping last night."

"W-what... Her n-name?"

"She's 1024 Am-bur-ssi, she's the youngest of us here and she arrived a month ago. Omo, here she is.." The two ball of energy pulled me closer to Eomma and 1024.

I sat on the floor kneeling, waiting for her to face me. My smile ready to flash on her.

She turned around slowly and my heart almost jumped from its cage, momentarily scared with what I am seeing.

Brunette... Long hair covering her face like she's the twin sister of Sadako from that Japanese movie. She has her head down and her hair covering her face. I gulped out of fear because it scared me.

Damn it... I thought she's Sadako. -_-

"1024, this is the newcomer. Her name is Amber-ssi, prisoner number 0918. Come on honey, introduce yourself.. don't be afraid.."
