“Who here can sing?” Yoongi asked as he scribbled something down into his notebook without looking up

“What?” Taehyung frowned glancing up from his sandwich that Jin gave him

“I asked who here could sing.” Yoongi repeated taking an earbud out “I need more than just Jin. And I know Hobi and Namjoon can rap but I need vocals.”

“Jin hyung can sing?” Jungkook raised an eyebrow as Yoongi nodded his head writing something down and then crossing it out immediately

“You two can rap?” Taehyung added turning to Namjoon and Hoseok and Yoongi nodded again

“Jungkook’s a good singer” Jimin said after a minute “Taehyung too.”

“Show me.” Yoongi demanded looking up at them

“Excuse?” Jungkook blinked “I can’t just be put on the spot Yoongi hyung”

“What are you talking about?” Jimin scoffed “I’ve seen you perform all of Taeyang’s eyes nose lips effortlessly”

“That was different” Jungkook whined

“I don’t need the whole song” Yoongi sighed “Just do the first part”

“But”

“Jungkook” Yoongi interrupted “Please”

“Don’t be sorry
That makes me more pitiful” Jungkook started quietly

“With your pretty red lips
Please hurry, kill me and go” He continued slowly getting a little louder

“I’m alright

Smile like nothing’s wrong,

So I can draw your face in my mind” He finished slowly

The four eldest looked at him wide eyed while his soulmates just nodded their heads like they were used to it

“Jungkook that was” Hoseok trailed off

“Not bad” Yoongi grinned probably the widest the younger had ever seen “Exactly what I need. What about you Taehyung?”

“What?” Taehyung almost scoffed “You want me to follow that up?”

“Yes.” Yoongi nodded “Taehyung, you gotta know something”

“There’s that one you did for the talent show in middle school” Jimin pointed out

“That was over two years ago!” Taehyung whined “I’m pretty sure my voice had changed sense then too.”

“Yeah, it’s deeper” Jungkook nodded “It sounds better now.”

“Taehyung” Yoongi sighed “I’m not going to beg. But I might.”

“You’re not gonna beg but you still might beg” Namjoon laughed “How does that even work?”

“It makes sense to me” Yoongi rolled his eyes

“Ugh fine!” Taehyung sighed in exasperation “Just- if I up don’t blame me”

“Taetae watch your language” Jin scolded lightly making Taehyung roll his eyes while he cleared his throat

“I can’t beat my sad heart

Taehyung paused taking a breath before continuing at a higher note

Taehyung paused again and just as The rest were about to comment he continued

Taehyung finished quietly before Hoseok picked up where he left off with a “Oh, girl!” causing everyone to jump slightly

“The words you said so lightly at that time

Hoseok rapped making Taehyung let out a surprised laugh

“I didn’t know that ‘being used to it’ would be scarier than anything
I don’t know your heart
up until we ultimately said a goodbye full of regret
As the days pass, the empty space you left gets bigger
Oh , even if we give water to our flowerbed that used to be so beautiful, the full blooms have become nothing but memories, only the scent of loneliness gushes forth

Taehyung blinked for a second as Hoseok finished before singing the rest of the song

In the long silence a sound comes, screaming
From my foolish and weak heart…”

The two laughed as everyone gaped at them

“That was great Taehyung!” Hoseok praised

“I didn’t know you knew that song Hobi hyung” Taehyung laughed “The rap was perfect!”

“That was…” Namjoon blinked “amazing”

“An oddly perfect impromptu duet” Yoongi nodded “It was good. Yeah, I’ll need your voice too.”

“Taetae” Jin cooed taking The youngers hand in his own and kissing the back of it “You have such a pretty voice”

“Thank you Hyung” Taehyung blushed as he intertwined their fingers

“You guys are being cheesy” Namjoon wrinkled his nose playfully at them “It’s gross”

“You’re gross” Hoseok shot back with a laugh “I think it’s cute.”

The rest laughed but Yoongi caught Jimin’s eyes lingering on their hands a little longer than he probably meant. And with a sigh, Yoongi laid down letting his head rest on Jimin’s left thigh with his feet in Hoseok’s lap. There was a pause, not long, but defiantly there before everyone continued laughing, maybe a little harder, maybe a little louder, and maybe -just maybe- a little happier.
