Chapter 1

Riiiiiing... Riiiiiiing... Riiiiiing! 

7:45am: It's the morning bell on the 1st day of classes at SM High International School, exclusive school for girls. New school year, new class, new faces. 

My name is Amber Liu. I am in my sophomore year in High School. I am a total newbie here in SM High. My family had just moved from LA back to Korea. I was born here but we moved to LA when I was little and grew up there. And now because of my parents' career, we had to go back here in Seoul. I know some Korean because my parents speak Korean to us since we were little. I'm not that fluent though. It's no big deal since SM High is an International School, so the medium of instruction is english. We learn lots of other languages in our classes anyway. 

I'm feeling quite nervous about this, being unfamiliar to this environment. Not to mention, I look kinda different. By "different" I mean I don't really look like the typical 13-year-old girls like me. I am a boyish and athletic type of girl, I am most comfortable in t-shirt, jeans, hoodie and a snapback. Not in a blouse, skirt or heels. Ugh. And make up? No thanks. I am happy with how I look. Though it's not a popular look for girls here in Korea. So I get all kinds of looks and stares when I'm out. Not sure if in a good or bad way though. 

I noticed that some of my classmates already had their own group of friends, from last year, I assume. One of the groups were whispering at each other while looking at my direction and it was pretty obvious that they were talking about me. Oh well, I'm excited to meet new friends. Th
