Queen of Reversals

Everlasting Impressions

The new day brought new excitement with it. Student's were buzzing upon hearing the news, and although they found it strange, they didn't question it out of fear. The main question on everyones' tongues was 'why?' However, despite the curiosity they weren't allowed to ask. They were just expected to follow through on what they were asked and no one was too bothered about acting out of place. After all, their lives and their livelihoods depended on making it through high school without causing trouble.

Seryung had noticed it. Hana had noticed it. Sehun had noticed it too. Things were changing and none of them knew whether it was for the better of worse. Any soul would have noticed the omnious aura, even a ghost.

-
Within the school hierarchy there were a series of different social classes. The one sitting on the king's chair was none other than Seo Kang Jun, the President's son. His underdogs were his classmates. Together they formed the students of the glass room. An F4 of their own: 'Seo Kang Jun and his underdogs...' The 'underdogs' came from the three riches families in South Korea. They were so wealthy that they were assigned a separate classroom. They didn't intermingle with the other students. Instead they acted as if they were part of an exclusive club.

"I hate him."

"Me too, he always causes such a fuss."

"He disrespected me! Didn't you see it?"
"Is he nice to anyone, just saying..."

"He's nice to his damned sister."
"Do you think so? He didn't reply when we asked him would he trade."

"I took it as a 'yes,' he can cry all he wants about it. We can pin the blame on him, tarnish his repuatation and dissolve that fan club of his."
"Those fans are mental!"

"They'll do anything to protect their 'oppa.' They're cuteness is on the same level as a rash."
"They're scary little monsters. I'm glad we avoided that alright!"

"How do you plan to dissolve it?"
"We have to wait, until Seo Kang Jun comes back."

"Kang Jun v.s. Sehun? They'll have the school on fire!"
"Do you think Kang Jun will bother? He doesn't like to get involved."

"Whatever, I hope he does, someone let him know."
"Well I'm not talking to him! He scares me."

"It's not going to be me either, I'm still trying to get over the last time."
"You deserved that one."
"What? Let me choke you and tell you, you deserved it!"

"Yeah but that's cuz you messed up."
"Exactly why I'm not getting involved again!"

"Guys, guys, can we not talk about the President's son that way? He'll glare us to death with his laser eyes."
"When is he coming back? I heard his exchange ended, but no idea when he'll attend classes with us again."
"Seo Kang Jun... He's someone who could wipe out Sehun, and his fan club without even batting an eyelash."
"Ugh... We won't be able to live calmly once he's back. Let's enjoy our last moment of freedom before the devil returns."

Meanwhile, unknown to the students of the glass rooms someone was watching them with great interest.

"You don't like Sehun either huh?" A ghost twittered an eerie high-pitched laugh and left them to bicker amongst themselves. She ventured into the more lively side of the school. The school was buzzing because the underdogs had just sent orders.

The ghost watched skeptically, Oh Sehun had almost been heroic in his confrontation. He'd come to school much earlier than he normally would have and had ignored everything and made his way to the lavish classroom. He'd been direct with his words and had warned them to leave Hana alone.

"Kim Hana," the ghost mused. "You must really be something. Out of all the girls in the school, Sehun knows just you." The ghost wasn't pleased by this at all, in fact she hated them both.

Oh Sehun had used his fan club when threatening the underdogs. He'd made it clear that he wanted the bullying to stop, so clear that the ghost suspected Hana was much more than just an outcast Sehun had crowned. The ghost suspected a relationship. However, this is where her investigation came to a halt. She didn't know why they were in a relationship.

Sehun brushed past Hana and ignored her when he passed her in the hall, the ghost had been a witness. Hana had turned around to look at him with an expression of pain.

"A lovers quarrel?" The ghost laughed again, "Oh Sehun, is Kim Hana your type?"

The ghost followed a wave of students who were rushing to gather by the window. They pointed at a car that had just arrived. The ghost narrowed her eyes at the late student. The stair-cased hallway was swept by rumors of a falling out and the speculation made the ghost wrinkle her nose. She wasn't interested in their stories anymore. She ignored the late student and instead looked for who she would be haunting.

Oh Sehun was a peculiar student. The ghost sensed he was planning to skip the first class and she was right because he'd made his way to the teachers lounge and had asked to be pardoned. The ghost was surprised, she hadn't expected the teachers to allow him to skip class but her bewilderment was cleared again when the teacher handed him a schedule.

"You're going to study alone? Why, is the class too slow for you? Are you that great?" The ghost felt anger rising in the pit of her stomach. She didn't like Oh Sehun or the teacher.

The ghost chuckled when the teacher praised Sehun as one of the best students in the school. She knew it was true too. No one in their school could match Oh Sehun's grades. He aced exams and hit high scores as if it were nothing. He was the pride and joy of the school and had won academic awards.

The ghost was still floundered, "He's your top student so you give him your teaching schedule, while talking about how slow to learn, the other students are? I see now and suddenly things make sense... You were my teacher too, did you notice a Yang Jinsung died recently? Do you even care? I bet you don't even remember my name."

Jinsung laughed bitterly and followed Oh Sehun to the library. She knew immediately what he would do too. As expected, he immersed himself into his books.

Jinsung had been patient with him, at one time she'd been startled thinking he'd locked eyes with her but he'd been looking at the clock behind her. He stretched his arms and flicked his pen as he read. Jinsung pouted, he looked extra handsome when he studied and she'd almost been taken by him before she remembered she was supposed to hate him. She tried to slap his head but her hand flew through it as if she was made of nothing but air. Jinsung held her breath when Sehun looked up again and frowned. She backed away from where he sat. She could have sworn he was looking her way but then he muttered under his breath and she sighed at herself for thinking someone would be able to see her.

"Sehun was memorizing what he'd just read, any pabo could tell you that Jin!"

The ghost scratched her head and decided to leave him to his study rather than have her dead heart beat for him. She wanted to hate him because he'd been the one to kill her but she wasn't able to do that yet. The thought of Oh Sehun being in a relationship intrigued her none the less. She flitted over to where Hana would be. The first thing the ghost noticed was that she'd cut her hair. The second think was the bandage on Hana's hand. The third thing the ghost noticed was that no one was bothering her but they were whispering her name.

The ghost smiled when Hana shifted uncomfortably. Her classmates were trying to deduce how Hana had escaped and their imaginations were free to wander.

"Suits you, you're in a relationship with Sehun. His fans won't like that."

The ghost left the classroom and headed to where Oh Seryung would be. Oh Seryung had been the talk of the school as soon as she'd arrived. The ghost chuckled, she didn't know that the siblings had, had a falling out but she suspected Hana played a role in it.

Oh Seryung was sitting at her seat. She'd just wiped her table down and wondered what kind of misery the day would bring. To say she was prepared was a lie. Seryung wasn't anticipating anything, the day had gone wrong the minute she'd woken up.

Seryung's anger from the previous day had settled and her mind had become clearer. She'd gone to look for her brother but she hadn't been able to find him. When Seryung had asked one of the maids about his whereabouts she'd been told he'd already left for school.

Seryung groaned and rested her head against her table. They'd always taken the car together even when one of them was late. They always left for school together. She'd tried to ring him but he didn't pick up. She'd texted him too but she knew she wouldn't receive a reply.

"Isn't it Hana's fault?"

Seryung raised her head and looked around. Her eyes fell at the strange figure peeping through the window. The girl ducked her head when she caught Seryung watching her. Seryung didn't have time to ask who had asked her the strange question because she'd come into contact with a chilling body of water. She gasped and jumped. Slowly, she swept her cold wet hair out of her face and glared at the culprit.

"Yah, wangta are you mad? You're lucky that, that was just water!"

"Who's a wangta? What are you talking about?" Seryung's voice shook mid question. She listened to her classmates laugh and wondered what was happening.

"You are!"

Yang Jinsung had raced out of the room as soon as Seryung had raised her head. The ghost's dead heart still beat rapidly at the prospect of being seen. The ghost was sure that Seryung had seen her. Their eyes had met and Seryung had looked at her questioningly.

Jinsung hadn't planned to stay but the water balloon had made her turn around. She watched the scene unfold. It was strange to see someone turn their back on Seryung.

-

Jinsung had been trying hard to fit into her new school. Her parent’s had won the lottery and Jinsung had found herself at one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Jinsung had been excited for her first day but the excitement had been quick to die down because she’d been labeled to be from a ‘get rich quick’ family. The girls in her class had whispered about her and said things like her money would be quick to finish. Jinsung soon found her things going missing time and time again. If they’d been ordinary things Jinsung wouldn’t have minded, but they were presents from her parents.

Then came the faithful day in which Oh Seryung had sat at her table. Jinsung’s table wasn’t particularly popular and she knew Seryung had just sat there on whim but Oh Seryung had listened to her story none the less. Three days after her meeting with Oh Seryung. Jinsung had found her stolen things returned along with letters of apology. Jinsung had been thankful to Seryung ever since.

-

The ghost shook her head and wondered how to help Oh Seryung. It was sad to see her become the of hateful jokes and pranks. The ghost wondered if Sehun was aware of his sister’s ordeal.

"The probability of Sehun solving this problem successfully is small."

The ghost hadn't meant to stick around and watch but she'd been there to witness the beginning of what would surely get worse as it did for every outcast.

"How dare you glare at oppa!" A girl had stomped over to where Oh Seryung stood frowning. Jinsung had recognized her to be a member of Sehun's fan club.

Seryung rolled her eyes and ran her fingers through her own hair. She grimaced as her expensive styling had been ruined by a stupid water balloon. The girl standing in front of her with her nostrils flaring was hoping to shoot lasers from her eyes. Seryung smirked at her, 'You're one of those, oppa-oppa girls, aren't you?'

The ghost covered her eyes and winced while the rest of the class held their breath. A crack of air was followed by a sharp slap directed towards Seryung's face. Seryung held her cheek for a second. Her eyes grew wide as the short girl in front of her tried to hit her again.

"Yah!" Seryung spat and caught her wrist. "Have you lost it?" Seryung asked pushing the girl away. The girl retaliated with a scream and lunged towards Seryung. "How dare you push me!"

The ghost kept her eyes covered and listened to the two of them wrestle. She let her imagination wander and sensed Seryung was trying to protect herself against someone who'd aimed to catch a handful of hair in her grip. Footsteps were heard and protests were followed by a loud clang. The ghost gasped and removed her hands from her eyes. Oh Seryung lay on the ground. The ghost craned her neck to see past the crowd of students.

"You don't understand, do you? You're not meant to fight back. When a dog fights back, it gets put down." Jinsung trembled when someone picked up a desk. The crowd of students parted enough for the ghost to see Seryung lying with the leg of her chair caught in her calf.

"She must have tripped!" The ghost exclaimed. Her eyes traveled back to the student who'd talked about dogs. He was the same person who'd thrown the water balloon. He grabbed the nearest chair and purposely scraped it's feet on the floor as he walked. "Good dogs, do as they're told. Now, I want you to apologize for pushing my girlfriend."

Seryung narrowed her eyes at him. Her eyes flitted towards the girl who'd tried to pick a fight with her, and had made her trip over her own chair. Seryung propped herself from her elbows and tried to stand but someone held her down by her shoulders. "Apologize!" The person holding her down muttered and Seryung detected a microscopic tint of remorse hinting that people did have a emphatic trait in them.

Chapter 10: Well this probably doesn't apply to now since you've finished the story but I like just about any type of lead, even the cliche types cause well it's just nice to read it sometimes
Though I don't like leads that betray each other and I sort of detest the one who goes for revenge cause it makes me uneasy
And I dislike leads that change their opinions and emotions so quickly
