Chapter Six

~Fluttering Heart~

Everyone sat there in silence, staring at Yoomi, while she stared at Nai Nai. The tears that she tried so hard to keep in finally came down. Her tears flowed down silently as she stared at Nai Nai with her sorrowful eyes. Yoomi wasn’t sobbing, but inside she was breaking down.

No one has ever treated me so kind and nice before, Yoomi thought. Why did omma and appa agree to this? They would never let me experience this kind of life. Do they want me to be happy?

Everyone was expecting Yoomi to say something, to either refuse or agree. Everyone, even Luhan smiled, at Yoomi’s next gesture. Yoomi slowly nodded as her gaze returned to the floor. Her hands loosened their grasp as she exhaled.

What am I getting myself into?

Luhan watched Yoomi cry. He wanted oh so much to run to her and wipe off her tears, to never see her cry again, and to see her smile. Luhan wanted to hug Yoomi in her arms and tell her that he’ll try his best to be the best husband for her, but another side of him was telling him that she was faking it and that she can not be trusted.

Nai Nai smiled sadly.

My dear innocent child. I know what you went through. You do not have to go through any of that anymore. I promise you. I will give you the happiness and love that you deserve.

Nai Nai clapped her hands together making everyone look at her, including Yoomi.

"Great! Everything’s settled!" Nai Nai smiled. "The wedding will be next month!"

EXO’s and Yoomi’s eyes widened.

"What?!" Luhan yelled.

N-next month?

"Nai Nai, isn’t that a bit early?" Xiumin asked.

"No, no, no. It’s not even early enough. I was thinking about having it the week Yoomi agreed, but I decided to give her some time to prepare herself," Nai Nai smiled.

Luhan sighed and shook his head in disbelief. He pinched his nose bridge and closed his eyes.

What am I getting myself into? He thought.

"Oo! Oo! Can we be your best men?!" Sehun asked.

Luhan rolled his eyes.   

"If you guys are not, then who will be?" Luhan said.

Sehun thought for a while.

"No one?" Sehun asked slowly.

Luhan laughed and shook his head, not believing what he was hearing.

Yoomi was staring at her hands, not knowing what to do. When she nodded yes, she regretted it right away, but she knew that it was too late to say no. Since the wedding was in a month, she knew that preparations have already been made, meaning that she would probably be forced to pay all the money that they’ve wasted on the wedding to Nai Nai.

Yoomi had never even thought about marriage before, but now that her marriage date was in a month, her mind was just blank. She didn’t even know what her husband looked like. Of course she heard him talking, which sounded nice, but she never really gave his face a good look.

"Yoomi, my dear. When would you like to go pick out your dress?" Nai Nai asked, making everyone became quiet.

Everyone’s attention was now on Yoomi again. Yoomi hated being on the spotlight. They were waiting her to answer, to say something at least. No one has yet heard her voice, not even Nai Nai who has been stalking her for a year. Nai Nai smiled, understanding that Yoomi probably won’t talk.

"Does next Saturday sound good?" Nai Nai asked.

What else did Yoomi even have to do before Saturday? That was when an important question hit her.

What about college?

Yoomi slowly nodded. It was as if Nai Nai read Yoomi’s mind, with her next question.

"Was Seoul University the college that you wanted to get into? With your grades I’m pretty sure that you’ll pass all of your classes with flying colors," Nai Nai smiled.

Yoomi slowly nodded.

"Great! I already enrolled you into the school. You’ll be starting Monday, which is tomorrow! I hope that’s not too early. The others attend Seoul University too!"

"Nai Nai," Luhan sighed, "You didn’t even get her permission before enrolling her."

"Well, she agreed to it. Did she not?" Nai Nai asked.

Luhan sighed again.

"Just, please ask her before hand next time," Luhan said.

"Ooo, Luhan’s already caring about his wifey," Chanyeol whispered to Baekhyun.

Yoomi slightly blushed, but since her head was down, no one saw it. Luhan shot Chanyeol and Baekhyun both a death glare.

"I heard that."

Chanyeol sat up straight and smiled to his hyung.

"Hehe, sorry."

Luhan rolled his eyes. He looked at his watch. Luhan stood up and straightened out his

clothes.

"I’m late for work."

"Okay, then. You may be dismissed," Nai Nai said.

Luhan nodded once and took one last look at Yoomi.

I’m falling for her. Jung Yoomi. Just your name makes my heart flutter. I can’t do this. I can’t fall for her, I’m betraying my heart.
