38 The Wedding

The Perfect Bride (Rewriting)

Chapter Thirty-Eight

~The Wedding~

    Luhan paced around his room. He looked at the calendar on his desk and pouted.

    Why does time pass by so slow?

    There were two more days until the wedding.

    I miss her.

    Nai Nai had this thing where she wouldn’t the bride and groom meet each other for a few days before the wedding.

    Luhan sighed and began stretching out of boredom.

Why?

He whined to himself.

    “Did Halmeoni do this to you and Minseok too?” Yoomi asked Jinah.

    Jinah giggle and nodded.

    “Yeah, she did.”

    Yoomi pouted and rested her head on her desk. Music history and Music appreciation were the only two classes that she had today. There were a few more hours left until she had to go to her next class.

    “Was it unbearable?”

    Jinah shrugged.

    “Kind of.

    Yoomi  smiled faintly.

    “I think this affects Luhan more than me though.”

    Jinah let out a little laugh.

    “Probably. Nai Nai just wants to build up the excitement and expectations. You know?”

    Yoomi nodded and smiled.

    “Yeah.”

    Jinah rested her chin on her palm.

    “So, where are you going for your honeymoon?”

    Yoomi’s eyebrows raised.

    “H-Honeymoon?”

    Jinah looked at Yoomi, confused.

    “Yeah, are you guys not going?”

    Yoomi shrugged.

    “I don’t think so. Luhan and Halmeoni haven’t mention anything about it.”

    Jinah nodded and tapped her cheek as she thought.

    “Where would you want to go?”

    Yoomi smiled as she thought about him.

    “As long as I’m with Luhan, I would be fine.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Luhan stared at the clock ticking on the wall of his room. He sighed and turned over on his bed.
    “Dude, staring at the clock won’t make the time go faster,” Tao said.
    Luhan glared at him.
    “Shut it.”
    “Should we sneak Yoomi in here?” Chanyeol asked.
    “If you want Nai Nai to kill you,” Baekhyun shot a death glare at Chanyeol, obviously still angry about the “watch incident.”
    “Hence the word, ‘sneak’,” Chanyeol rolled his eyes.
    Baekhyun scoffed.
    “Like you could get away with something like that.”
    Chanyeol rolled his eyes again and looked away.
    D.O. looked at Luhan.
    “Han, where are you and Yoomi going for the honeymoon?” he asked.
    Luhan looked at D.O.
    “Uhh...I don’t know.”
    Kris smiled in amusement.
    “Haven’t thought about it til now, have you?” he asked.
    Luhan sighed and pouted. He ran his fingers through his hair.
    “I’m pretty sure Nai Nai has something planned out.”
    “You guys should go to the Maldives,” D.O. said.
    “Ooo, take me with you!” Tao yelled.
    Luhan laughed.
    “No, Tao.”
    “I always wanted to go there!” Tao yelled.
    “Tao! You can go with me! I want to go too!” Sehun said.
    “I bet twenty bucks that Sehun and Tao will stalk Luhan and Yoomi on their honeymoon,” Lay said to Kris.
    “Yah, yah, yah! I will not,” Sehun said.
    “I put in thirty!” Chen pipped in.
    Kris shook his head.
    “I’m not betting because I know those two will.”
    Sehun and Tao pouted.
    “See what you did?” Tao asked.
    Sehun pushed Tao.
    “You started it.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Yoomi stared down at her hands as Nai Nai carefully watched her actions.

    “So…” Nai Nai started of, “I was wondering where you and Luhan wanted to go to for your honeymoon. Luhan suggested the Maldives.”

    Yoomi slowly nodded.

    “Anything’s fine with me,” she spoke softly as she looked up at Nai Nai.

    Nai Nai smirked.

    “Are you gonna give me what I want?” she asked.

    Yoomi looked at her confused.

    “W-What you want?”

    The smirk on Nai Nai’s lips never left. Yoomi’s eyes widened when she remembered what Nai Nai really wanted. Yoomi almost choked on her spit.

    “H-Halmeoni,” she slightly whined.

    Nai Nai let out an obnoxious laugh.

    “I was just kidding! I don’t want to rush you, just...don’t take too long.”

    Yoomi slightly pouted.

    “Halmeoni,” she sighed.

    Yoomi swore, sometimes Nai Nai was as immature as a teenage girl.

"Hurry, Luhan! Put your bow on!" Chanyeol yelled.

"Miss, can you please make sure Jason's clothes are perfect," Suho said.

A make-up lady nodded and tended to Jason.

Luhan looked down as he tried to tie his bow. His fingers kept on shaking out of nervousness. He pouted when the bow was crooked. He sighed and tried re-tying it, then suddenly a pair of hands took over the bow and helped him. He looked up and saw Sehun tying the bow for him. Luhan smiled in appreciation.

“Thanks, Sehun,” Luhan said.

Sehun smiled back.

“Anything for hyung.”

Luhan smiled and ruffled the younger one’s hair.

    “Are you gonna miss me?” Luhan asked.

    Sehun shook his head.

    “Nope, I’m gonna miss Mimi more.”

    Luhan scoffed.

    Sehun finished tying the bow.

    “She’s mine, you can’t miss her,” Luhan said a bit seriously, yet Sehun could detect a hint of playfulness in the older one’s voice.

    “Whatever hyung, I’m pretty sure Mimi will miss us too,” Baekhyun said from the couch.

    His eyes were concentrated on his phone, yet he was listening to the conversation that Luhan and Sehun were having.

    “I wonder how Yoomi’s putting up with you, Luhan,” Suho said.

    “That’s because she loves me,” Luhan smirked.

    Suho rolled his eyes.

    “Love can only go so far,” Chanyeol stuck his tongue out at Luhan.

    Luhan glared at Chanyeol.

    “Hey, Han!”

    Everyone stared at the door. Xiumin was standing at the door with Jungwoo holding his hand.

    Luhan’s eyes lighted up.

    “Jungwoo ah!” Luhan beamed.

    “Lulu shushu!” Jungwoo yelled.

    Luhan’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

    “Shushu? When did you learn that?” Luhan asked.

    “I taught him that,” Xiumin said as he walked into the room.

    “Wow, teaching him Chinese already huh?” Luhan smiled.

    Jungwoo poked Luhan’s cheek. He smiled until his eyes became crescents.

    “Squishy,” Jungwoo smiled.

    Luhan laughed.

    “Your and your dad’s cheeks are more squishy,” Luhan said.

    “And Kyungsoo shushu.”

    Everybody looked at D.O. who’s eyes were wide and confused as if he had just now started listening to the conversation. Kai, who was sitting next to D.O., poked D.O.’s cheek.

    “Yep, pretty squishy.”

    Everyone started to burst out laughing.

    It was a happy day. Nothing could bring their spirits down.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yoomi looked at herself in the mirror. She was beautiful. Her hair was french braided to the side. Small flowers were put in them. An elegant tiara was place on top of her head. Her dress was strapless. Silver beads decorated the top half of her dress. All in all, she looked like a princess.
Nai Nai looked at Yoomi with content.
"You are so beautiful, Yoomi," she said.
Yoomi smiled.
"Thank you, Nai Nai."
"I can't believe it," she said happily. I really can't," she smiled.
Yoomi held onto Nai Nai's hands.
"I can't either," Yoomi let out a little laugh.
"It was just days ago that Luhan was acting like a little kid around you, now he is mature and is going to marry you," Nai Nai laughed, "I hope you can put up with his childish ways."
"I find it cute," Yoomi beamed.
Nai Nai laughed and rubbed Yoomi's cheeks.
"I really hope that you really have found your true happiness. I don't want you to suffer anymore."
Yoomi nodded.
"I have."
There was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” Nai Nai said.
Jinah walked into the room. Her eyes widened.
“Yoomi ah! You look so beautiful!” she squealed.
She ran up to Yoomi and held onto her hands.
“Oh my, you are so beautiful. Luhan is so lucky,” she said.
Yoomi laughed and hugged Jinah.
“Thank you for coming today, unnie.”
Jinah gasped and pulled back from the hug. She gently slapped Yoomi’s arm.
“Of course I would come you silly girl!” Jinah said.
Nai Nai laughed.
“Aigo, you two,” she said as she shook her head.
Jason popped his head in the door.
"Ready?" he asked.
All three women looked at him. They nodded.
Jinah rubbed Yoomi's hands and let go. She smiled at Yoomi. Jinah held onto Nai Nai’s hand and walked out of the room taking their seat in the front row of the wedding hall.
Jason walked up to Yoomi and held his arm out to her. Yoomi smiled and hooked her harm onto his. The Wedding March began to play. Jason handed her bouquet to her. She gladly took it and smiled.
"Thank you."
"Anything for soon-to-be Mrs. Lu," he smiled.
Yoomi let out a little laugh.
"Let's go shall we?" he asked.
Yoomi nodded.
"We shall."
They walked out of the room and into the wedding hall. Yoomi kept her head high and tall. A few whistles were heard near the altar. Of course it was EXO. A small smile made its way onto Yoomi’s lips. She kept her eyes on Luhan the entire walk. A few people here and there that she didn’t know were present, but she figured that it was a few of Luhan’s friends and business partners.
When the doors to the wedding hall opened, revealing Yoomi, Luhan’s breathing hitched. If he thought that she looked beautiful at the shoppe, she looked like an angel now. He saw her smile at him. He tried to smile back, but he couldn’t. His mouth stayed slight opened as he watched his bride make her way towards him.
Yoomi, she’s my wife.
That was all he could think about.  His heart beat kept on accelerating, as he yearned to hold her close. He had to control himself to not just run up to her. Nai Nai was really harsh, not letting them be together until today. His palms were sweating. His eyes would not leave hers. Jason handed Yoomi’s hand to Luhan to which he gladly took. Yoomi gave him her best smile. When Luhan held onto her hand, he eased down a bit. He finally smiled back to her. They looked at each other in the eyes. Both of them obviously excited and happy.
“Do you, Lu Han, take Jung Yoomi to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part,” the pastor spoke to Luhan.
The smile on Luhan’s lips grew.
“I do.”
“Do you, Jung Yoomi, take Lu Han to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part,” the pastor spoke to Yoomi.
Yoomi nodded once and smile.
“I most certainly do.”
Luhan blushed as so did Yoomi. The pastor stared at the cute couple and stifled a laugh.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Cheers and yells of “kiss” roared throughout the audience.
Luhan smiled and took a step forward. Yoomi shyly looked down, not knowing what to do. She had just exchanged vows with this man. This man in front of her was her husband, her lawful husband. She could love him  with nothing blocking her.
Luhan smiled as her cuteness. He held her chin and gently pulled her face up to look at him. He stared right into her eyes. His eyes that were certain, happy, and gentle.
“I love you, Lu Yoomi.”
    “I love you too, Lu Han.”
    They both smiled. Luhan leaned in as Yoomi lifted her lips. Luhan pressed his lips onto hers. The yelling of “kiss” turned into cheers for the couple. Luhan tilted his head, deepening the kiss, making the roaring of the crowd twice as loud.
