Still YouOnce the lights had been turned off, Hyunjin quietly crawled out of his bed and crossed the distance between his and his sister's bed. He knew his twin, it would take 30 more minutes after tucking them in for her to fall asleep. And with little to no noise, he strolled to his sister's area.
"Mimi." He softly whispered, peeking at his sister who opened one eye to look at him.
"What oppa?" She whispered back, opening both of her eyes to look at him clearly.
"I have something to tell you." What he said caught the attention of his sister so she quickly sat up, making room for her brother to join her on the bed, which the latter did.
"What is it oppa?" His younger sister asked, looking at him with her big and innocent jet black eyes. The stranger's eyes flashed in his mind again. They were just the same as his and his sister.
How could that happen?
"I met a new samchon earlier." He said, crossing his legs to put him to a more comfortable position.
"Jinjja? We have another samchon? What's his name?" His sister sounded excited at the mention of a new uncle.
"Kris samchon. But mommy doesn't know him. That's what Chanyeol samchon told me."
"Wae? Is he a bad guy? Omo. You talked to a stranger oppa?" The little girl gasped, making his eyes roll playfully.
"He's not a stranger. Because samchons know him. But I don't know why Chanyeol samchon told me that I couldn't tell mommy." He quietly mumbled, still trying to think of reasons why his Chanyeol told him that earlier.
Sometimes, having really intelligent kids seems to be a little burden.
"Maybe because mommy doesn't really know him?" His sister answered, shrugging. His sister could be right. But why does it feel like he had seen the stranger's face already? And his eyes. It kinda looks like his. And Mimi's of course.
"You think so?"
"Yeah. Maybe Channie samchon just doesn't want you telling mommy so you won't get a time out." Hyunmi even nodded, encouraging him that her answer's right.
He kept quiet. Silence surrounded them for a few minutes before his sister finally spoke again.
"You think daddy will be there during my recital?" She asked, her tone hinting sadness.
It would be his sister's first public performance and he could feel how she badly wants their dad to be there and witness her.
"Don't be sad. Mommy told me that he'll ask daddy if he could come home for that. I'm sure she would talk to him sooner." He cheered her up, patting her back gently.
"Really? Mommy said that?" His sister asked again, this time her hopeful and cheery tone making him smile. He nodded proudly and her smile grew
