Chapter 28

It was almost midnight when Hyuna arrived home. She was needed in a lot of conference meeting and phone calls; all in hopes to find another solution for fixing the mess that was caused by Bang Yongguk.

But it seems everything was at dead end. No way out to have everything straightened out. Unless she accept either of the offers given to her earlier.

"Agassi. Would you like me to prepare you a cup of tea?" Butler Seo asked her as he helped her with her things.

"No, thank you. I'll be in my office." The kind man just nodded, and she headed straight to her study.

All happenings that day surely drained her out. And all she wanna do was lay down, sleep and shut off the whole world. But she can't. Thousands of people were at risk for losing a job. The company she's worked hard for might be gone from her.

She can't let that happen.

A part of her continuously urges her to accept Kris' offer. It would end the nightmare; she won't lose anything.

"Oppa?" She called on the other line.

"How are you doing?" The ever comforting voice of Joonmyeon soon was heard.

"I'll be okay. I guess." She sighed.

"Kris told us. Have you thought about it?"

She was burdened. It felt like she was burdened and a huge weight was placed on her shoulders for her to carry alone. Sooner or later, she could feel herself wanting to breakdown. But she knew, she needed to be strong. She has too.

"I don't know what to do oppa." She confessed. Honestly, her mind was blank. Which wasn't the best thing to happen at such circumstance.

"Think of what's best for you and the company. You worked hard for everything Hyun. Don't let that just slip away so easily." Joonmyeon reminded her, his words echoing on the back of her head.

He was right. Even Kris said the same thing. And she knew they were right.

"I'm not saying this as an employer but as a friend who've seen you invest so much for your company. Accept his offer." He egged her.

"And this merge that's going to happen if ever, it will help you big time Hyun. You won't be alone anymore. Kris will be beside you, you're going to be a full forced team now. Besides, the both of you can easily transfer everything you have under the twins' name." He added, and knowing how the twins will benefit from it made her consider accepting the offer even more.

"I'm scared oppa." She was finally voicing out her fears.

Marriage. Her and Kris getting married. That was something they both hoped for when they were younger. But after she got hurt, she was hesitating. She's supposed to give Kris the benefit of the doubt but it was hard.

"He won't leave you Hyun. He loves you and the kids. You don't have to be scared."

She was silenced.

"I know you Kim Hyuna. You want to give him a chance. I can tell. This is his chance to prove you that he's not going to leave you anymore. This is the chance you can give him." He sounded so confident as he assured her. They both know he was right after all. She wanted to give Kris a chance to prove himself.

She needed assurance from him. She needed him to do something that would keep her mind set that he's really going to stay with them.

"He's not going to blow this up. We both know Kris. You, even better. When he's got his mind set into something, he'll do everything."

"I know that oppa." She whispered softly.

"Do you love him still?" He questioned her.
