Sehun’s POV

I quickly drove to the hospital in the hopes of saving the said person reported by one of the hospital staff. As I drove, I prayed hard that the person involved in the accident is not someone I know -particularly, Jessica Jung. I wouldn’t know how to forgive myself if something happened to her.

‘I’m so screwed’ – I thought

As soon as I was able to park my car, I quickly ran to the emergency room forgetting the protocol of even wearing my white coat.

“Who?!” I asked the receptionist panicking at the current situation. She seem not to understand my inquiry so I had to ask again. “What’s the name of the girl who get into a traffic incident just a few minutes ago?”

“A-a-ahm, the patient is identified to be Miss Jung Soo…” my heart stopped the instant that the receptionist paused while she tried to scan the girl’s papers.

‘! Jung Soo what?!’ I panicked bawling my hands into a fist, clenching my jaw as I breathed erratically.

“Jin… Jung Soo Jin” the receptionist finally added steadying my heart rate.

I exhaled.

I washed my face with my palm and rested my elbow on top of the front desk. I sighed in relief. I know as I doctor I shouldn’t feel much relief because I know that there is still a life in danger right now but I just can’t help but feel that way.

One is because the guilt would probably haunt me forever. I haven’t properly apologized to her after getting out of control last night and saying those words to her awhile ago. Two is because what if I really got her pregnant? Then that would mean my lack of discipline could have endangered two lives.

“Is there something wrong Chief?” the receptionist asks. I shook my head. “Nothing… just tell me the details later, I’ll just get changed” I bid and stride towards the changing rooms.

I hurriedly changed into my scrub suit and rushed towards the operating room. Three hours passed and the operation was a success, fortunately.

After the operation I changed into my normal clothes and decided to grab something to eat. I didn’t get to grab any food at the apartment. When suddenly my phone vibrated from my pocket,

Wu Kris calling…

“hyung?”

[I’m in the café across the hospital]

“ok, I’ll be there in a few minutes”

*click*

I immediately walked to the café that Kris mentioned after placing my white coat in my office. Upon entering the café, I looked around and saw Kris sitting at the farthest corner of the café sipping some tea as he browsed through his phone. I made my order at the counter and then went to join Kris.

“hyung” I called his attention. He glanced up at me and motioned for me to sit down which I did. He then stopped whatever he was doing and kept his phone inside his coat. “have you found her?” I asked as I settle on my chair. Kris just ‘hmm?’ at me. I know he knows who I am referring to.

“Jung” I answered

“ah, her? We already found her. Miyoung and Taeyeon are taking care of her now. So, how’d you know she went missing?” he asked feigning his innocence. I rolled my eyes on him. “I heard Taeyeon panicking this morning while you talked to me” I answered nonchalantly

“I don’t remember Taeyeon mentioning Jessica’s name” he probed

“you were looking for her while Taeyeon was panicking. I assume she’s the missing person this morning". He nodded showing that he understood what I said. He rested his chin on his knuckles and stared at me.

“what?” I asked getting conscious of his stare. He removed his knuckles and sat back on his chair. “care to spill some beans?” Kris asked as he sipped his coffee once more.

I took a few moments before answering his inquiry.  “I don’t think she would allow me to” I answered and glanced up at the waitress who just delivered my bubble tea. I smiled as thanks and averted my eyes to Kris again. Kris on the other hand waited for the waitress to leave before asking me again

“then I assume that you had with her” he said placed his elbows on the table, interlocking his fingers for his chin to rest on. “I’d take your silence as a yes” he continued. I stared back at him. Then surrendered in our staring game “don’t worry, I’ll apologize to Luhan hyung later” I remarked

 “Sehun ssi! Sehun ssi!” I heard someone calling my name and noticed the owner of the voice was nudging me. I tried to open my eyes and noticed that I was outside my apartment unit. I am sitting on the cold floor. I looked up and saw someone familiar.

“Jung?” I managed to ask

“Yes, Oh. It’s me” she answered coldly

“How’d you get here?” I asked sleepily. The alcohol is still working its way to my system.
