Sehun’s POV

I was shocked when I heard Luhan’s cold statement towards Jessica. I just walked in the living room and the first thing I hear is. “Jess, the wedding is off. There is no more us”.

But what he said next surprised me the most.

“you!” he points at me. My eyes widened at what he did. “take her ring off” he commanded. “what?!” I asked. What ring is he referring to?

“I said take the ring off. That is the only way she can move on. Jess, stop believing that I’ll ever come back because I never can. And I firmly believe that you should open your heart to someone else. You deserve to be happy and I can’t make you happy” he explained.

I get his point. And I respect Luhan. Jessica is wildly crying now. I walked towards her and kneeled infront of her. I held her hand true enough she’s still wearing an engagement ring. I looked at Jessica in the eye.

“Sehun… please no… please don’t….” she begged with tears flowing torrentially from her eyes. I smiled to reassure her. “Jess, I believe that you deserve to be happy maybe it’s time to let go of Luhan hyung” I spoke and took off the ring from her ring finger.

She cried even harder once the ring was off her finger.

I got the urge to comfort her and so I enveloped her in my embrace shushing her. “ssshhh, everything will be alright Jess. Don’t cry, Luhan hyung definitely don’t want you to cry. So, please stop crying”

“Jess, listen to this okay?” Luhan hyung suddenly spoke.

Jessica and I both turned our attention to the television while she stayed in my embrace. Luhan grabbed a guitar and smiled before he started singing.

“Lu…” Jessica whispered

“Soo Yeon ah, I love you…” Luhan trailed off smiling at Jessica. “but, I have to let you go” he added

“no… NO! NO! YOU CAN’T LU! DON’T LET ME GO! I’M NOT LETTING YOU GO! DON’T DO THIS TO ME! LUHAN” Jessica now cried hysterically. She’s having a break down. “Jessica…” I called out to her as I continued to wrap her in my embrace. She’s been trying to get away from me. “please calm down… please” I tried to appease her. But clearly it wasn’t working.

“Soo Yeon ah, please calm down and listen to me” Luhan pleaded as though he knew that Jessica was breaking down right this moment. And like magic Jessica calmed down a bit and lend Luhan her ears. “I can never be with you again. but it doesn’t mean that you can’t be happy anymore nor does that mean that your life ends here. No. it doesn’t. so, Jess, please move on. I want you to be happy. Please be happy for the two of us. Please. This is my final request for you, move on and find your happiness Jess” Luhan explained.

Now Jessica have calmed down. Perhaps Luhan’s words got through her afterall. But she’s still crying. She’s hurting even until now that two years has passed since Luhan passed away. Luhan had been suffering Hypertrophic Cardiac Myopathy years. He did undergo surgery and it was successful, the Xi’s all thought that Luhan would live longer after the surgery. But they thought wrong. Just a year after the surgery Luhan’s disease recurred but this time it has turned for the worse. And worse comes to worse, not only was there no compatible donor but Luhan’s body also don’t respond to the medications.

“you” Luhan called out this time facing me. Is he talking to me? “are you the guy that wants to come into Jessica’s life?” he asked still facing me. Is he really talking to me?
