“To keep meeting you.” Luhan smiled.

“But…but that means he’s…”

“Yeah, he’s watched us die at least a dozen times each.”Luhan wiped his eyes, “Except when you have to fight, he’s never gotten farther in time than that."

Kris sat there for a second trying to process the new information. No wonder Tao was also so close and friendly with him. Tao has been with him since the very beginning.

“He lied when he said he was shy. Tao is just afraid of getting close to us now that he’s seen us brutally murder each other. And based on what I’ve seen in his mind, I don’t blame him.” Luhan paused, “Chanyeol is going to come in here and act like nothing is wrong. You’d better dry your face.” he handed the other a tissue box before going into the shared bathroom.

Sure enough there was a light knock at the door before a playful Chanyeol appeared. He was one of the few still in pajamas.

“What’s the serious face for? Come on Mr. Grumpy-pants, we gotta go discuss the plans for today… hey, where is Luhan?” Chanyeol asked.

“He’s in the bathroom, he’ll probably be out soon,” Kris replied with as straight a tone as he could manage. He tried to prevent he voice from wavering, as many people's do when they cry, but he couldn’t manage to sound 100% normal.

“Okay, see you guys in a few.” Chanyeol happily closed the door, feigning ignorance to Kris’s puffy red eyes. When the door clicked shut, Luhan emerged from the bathroom while wiping water off his face.

“Are you ready to go out there?” Luhan sighed.

“Yeah…” Kris remained with his head down looking at his hands. Luhan lifted the other’s chin.

“No you’re not, your eyes are super puffy, go wash your face.” he laughed.

Kris smiled and immediately obeyed the older. Now that he was thinking about it, he hadn’t really questioned why Tao was always so friendly to him. He thought maybe it was just part of his personality, which would be weird because it seemed he didn’t like the others. Now that Kris knew the truth, everything would change. The way he’d look at people and examine their personality… and having to face them after they kill someone… Kris slapped his cheeks. He was not going to think about that yet, not until he had to at least.

The Chinese-Canadian finally headed into the dining room to find out about the days plans. He sat in his usual seat next to Tao but today Tao wasn’t talking to him. The younger wouldn’t even look at him.

“So…we’re here to talk about the schedule…” Suho said slowly. Everyone slightly nodded in agreement even though they didn’t want to acknowledge the future.

“I have it right here, so I’m going to read it off, okay?” Suho held a piece of paper in his hands. Everyone was nervously awaiting the news of how long it was before they had to fight each other. With a deep sigh, Suho began:

“My beloved Titans, the time has come for you to prepare for the future. Think of this as a way to repay the debts your ancestors built; this is your final chance to repay the people for what they’ve done. After today, each of you will have one day to train for the upcoming event. Each day only two people will attend the training area. The list is addressed on the bottom of this paper (it was selected at random). We will announce the fighters right before the match. Good luck to all of you~

Love, TOP.”

“Love TOP?” Kai snarled, “What a joke.”

“So tomorrow, Tuesday, Luhan and Lay will attend the training area. On Wednesday, it will be D.O. and Chen. Thursday is Xiumin and I (Suho), Friday is Baekhyun and Tao, Saturday is Kris and Chanyeol, and finally Sunday is Kai and Sehun,” Suho said quickly.

Everyone looked at their training partner, fearing they might be the one they have to fight after the training week. There was only a faint noise from the TV, the weather lady talking about the terrible storms forthcoming. Slowly, the dining room emptied until on Kris and Tao were left.

“Tao,” Kris started.

“Hm?” he replied in a flat tone.

“Is what Luhan said… is it true?”

“Depends on what he told you.” Tao was finally making small glances at the older.

Kris swallowed hard before speaking, “That you keep coming… or uh going back in time to... to keep meeting me?”

“Yeah, got a problem with that?!” Tao stood up and threw his chair down.

“Calm down.” Kris put his hand on Tao’s shoulder.

“No.” He pushed Kris’s hand away. “Every time Luhan tells you, you get all sad and emotional like this! I’d just prefer if he could keep his nose in his own business.”

“He is just trying to help, Tao."

“Well, it hasn’t before and it won’t now.”

“Tao.” Kris pinned Tao against the wall by his shoulders. “Don’t you think I’d prefer knowing? I wouldn’t want to be kept in the dark, no matter what time.”

“Let go of me.” Tao struggled.

“No, not until you’re calm.” Kris held him down.

“If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t have to worry about it.”

“What?”

“Never mind.” Tao let out a long exhale.

“Just talk to me…please? Stop ignoring me.” Kris slid his hands down, around the younger’s waist to embrace him.

“Okay.” Tao wrapped his arms around Kris’s neck.

“AWWWEEEE!” A simultaneous sound came from the playful Chanyeol and Baekhyun who had been watching from behind the corner of the wall. Both Kris and Tao quickly jumped away. The two realized that everyone had been watching them secretly. Tao hid his face under his bangs and grabbed Kris to escape to their room.

Author’s note: Hi. I haven’t updated in a while >< sorry I was busy since school has started up again, thanks everyone for waiting. It took a while, but I’m hoping to start updating more often. I remember the first 4 chapters were wrote in 2 days, which will be impossible with my school schedule. BTW I love the fanart, it looks so good. in art we're learning how to draw real life so ALL LE FANART haha jk I'm not THAT good...yet >:D.
