Final Day

Titans

Kris quickly looked up when he heard the door click open. Tao was standing in the doorway in a panda robe. The younger realized which entry the older had just read.

“I’m sorry; you left it on your dresser and I got curious.” Kris set the book on the bed.

“Kris you weren't supposed to—"

“Don’t go.” Kris wrapped his arms around the younger and pulled him into the room, making sure to shut the door behind them.

“Kris, I’m sorry.” Tao’s deep brown eyes softened.

“You can’t go back just yet,” Kris pleaded. The two sat on their bottom bunk.

“Kris, you don’t understand.” Tao pushed the elder’s hands away from him.

“Please Tao, I’m begging you; don’t go back.” Kris’s voice quivered, “Don’t start over to meet me again because I won’t be meeting you again. Me, this me, won’t be able to see you or hear you or… or touch you anymore,” he dragged his fingers alongside Tao’s jaw line. “I won’t be able to feel you in my arms when we’re sleeping, or get to wake up next to you, or watch you interact and smile and laugh with everyone else. I’ve been thinking about how much you mean to me and words only limit that. My happiness right now, my world is seeing you every single day.” Kris scooted closer to Tao, “Please stay here with me; I can’t handle losing you.”

Tao looked away and bit his lip, the usual habit when he was nervous or uncomfortable. He sat there for a moment, as if thinking, until Kris lightly pushed his chin so the younger would face him again.

“You’ll never know how happy and heart-breaking that is.” Tao hid his face in his hands.

“I think… I love you Huang ZiTao” Kris smiled as he pulled Tao’s hands away from his face to reveal a crying panda.

“Krissie” Tao whined, “I should be saying that to you~”

Kris wiped the younger’s tears away and leaned in for a soft, light-hearted peck. Tao grinned and pecked the older back.

“I love you, too,” Tao whispered in Kris’s ear.

With that, Kris gently led Tao to lie down on the bed and straddled the younger’s hips. Tao blushed as Kris led a trail of kisses from his ear to collar bone. The older carefully studied Tao.

“What? Why did you stop?” Tao exhaled.

“Just watching your reaction.” Kris smirked.

“You’re so weird.” Tao tousled his hair.

Kris replied by returning to Tao’s lips. This time he applied more pressure. Tao threw his arms around Kris’s neck and was rubbing small circles on his back until his hands lost themselves in Kris's hair. Both pulled their lips away to catch their breath before simultaneously returning more passionately. This time, Kris gathered the courage to penetrate the younger’s mouth with his tongue, which caused Tao to release a soft moan.

“You’re so cute,” Kris managed to say when the two broke apart for air, referring to the lewd noise Tao made.

“Shut up~~” Tao covered his face with a pillow.

Unable to access the younger’s lips again; Kris pulled the robe off slightly. Tao gasped when the air met his skin. Kris didn’t pull the robe off completely; just enough to expose the younger’s torso. His finger traced the hour-glass shaped tattoo on Tao’s chest. His hand explored lower and tickled the small trail of hair that was underneath his navel, which gave the younger chills. Tao finally lifted the pillow from his face and sat up to meet Kris’s eyes. Both leaned in to meet lips again.

Their ears pricked up as they heard voices coming closer. They pulled away and nervously watched the door. The door handle moved slightly downward and the pair's hearts froze. Locked. Thank God Kris had locked the door.

“Hey guys, we’re going to eat dinner soon, do you want to join us?” they heard Suho’s voice behind the door.

“Yeah, we’ll be out soon,” Kris called back. When they heard the footsteps trail off they both sighed in relief. And then started laughing.

“We’d better stop here then.” Tao leaned his forehead against Kris’s.

“Yeah I guess…” Kris looked slightly disappointed. The two kissed once more before Kris headed out and Tao finally got dressed. The two were slightly giddy at dinner but no one seemed to notice, except Luhan who gave them judgmental stares from across the table. Dinner was more silent than usual, which was expected because tomorrow was THE day...tomorrow someone was going to be killed.

But everyone tried to avoid thinking like that; they just mindlessly ate dinner. Afterward, they cleaned up their mess and saved leftover containers for Sehun and Kai who were still missing. They’d return soon and have to heat up their portions. Tonight was a Chinese movie called, “Sophie’s Revenge”. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Slowly, the number of people in the living room dwindled until Tao and Kris realized they were the last ones and should probably head to bed themselves. Kris showered quickly before jumping into bed, which he was no longer surprised to find Tao laying in.

“Good night, Krissie.” Tao kissed his cheek.

“I seriously don’t like that nickname,” Kris scorned.

“I love it~ we’re Krissie and Panda.”

“Whatever you say.” Kris cuddled the younger closer than usual.

“Your hair smells nice,” Tao breathed into Kris’s neck.

“Thanks?” Kris laughed.

“Good night,” Tao giggled.

“Night.” Kris gave Tao one last kiss on the forehead.

After a moment of silence, Kris spoke again, “Hey Tao, did you consider what I said?”

“Hm?”

“You’re not going to go back, right?”

“I’ll think about it.”

“Okay, good enough for now.”

“Good night, Kris” Tao repeated for the third time.

“Good night my Panda~”

Chapter 24: I knew it!!! There was something weird about how the first duels were a bit... Harsh? Like they discarded everythig and were even throwing insults. And when Kris observed how forced Suho was, how he pracyically impaled himself on Kai's spear and even pulled it out to let the blood gush out. And when Luhan was talking to Suho, like he was telling him that he was going to die. Mehehehehehe, they're not dead! It's time for the Titans to rise!
