Titans
Titans“I’m so sorry.” TOP’s skin turned metallic as he lunged towards Luhan. The guards must’ve found out of his Titan origin.
A look of pure terror colored Luhan’s face; Kris had never seen such panic in the elder’s eyes. That couldn’t be good. Although Luhan could predict his movements, his nerves got the better of him. TOP landed one iron blow to the younger’s cheek, easily knocking him ten feet backwards.
Tao just sat still, as disbelieve had drained the pigment in his face. TOP turned to the other and started approaching him.
“Don’t run away, Tao. Fight me like a man,” TOP’s voice spoke coldly but Kris could almost feel the undertones of his voice pleading, “Stick to the plan. Pretend to kill me”.
Tao staggered when he stood, shifting his weight to balance himself. When the Titan of Metal was finally close enough, Tao did a running high kick to the other’s cheekbone, but his kick was abruptly stopped when his foot met the other’s face, which was covered by a metal plate for protection. Falling straight to the ground, Tao cursed excessively as he clung to his sore foot. The eight watching the fight from under the stands grew too anxious. Would the others be able to pull this off? How is Tao going to keep fighting while holding time still for D.O. and Kai?
Tao stood with all his might, although it was apparent how worn out he was. TOP stood in the middle of the field while Tao limped over to the weapon’s cart. He collapsed when he’d gotten their due to the pain in his foot, so he grabbed a long staff to help steady himself.
The Titan of Time Control stood bravely in front of his opponent with a pained expression. TOP simply shoved him to the ground.
“This is a sick and twisted world we live in, huh?” the Titan spoke quietly, barely being picked up by his microphone.
Tao arose once more and swung his staff at the older, which he braced for by metalizing his face on one side. What he didn’t expect though, was Luhan who had snuck up behind and struck the other side of his body with a sword, slicing a deadly gash in his neck. TOP’s body fell straight forward, almost collapsing on Tao.
“Just you and me again,” Luhan grinned while he panted lightly. His cheek bruising purplish from where TOP hit him. The fight had been continuous for over thirty minutes and the exhaust was starting to kick in.
“Just get it over with, I give up.” Tao spat a mixture of blood and saliva. Luhan seemed slightly taken aback but nonetheless walked over to the younger and grabbed him by his collar.
“You can’t just give up, Tao; we’ve got an audience today,” Luhan gestured to the crowd. “It will be over when I say it is. Now, stand.”
“I c-can’t.”
“Stand!” LuHan shouted.
Tao reluctantly obliged, leaning heavily on his left foot. Luhan grabbed two new swords and tossed one to the other. “Ready? Go!” Luhan charged full force.
Tao barely managed to avoid the tip of the elder’s weapon by maneuvering his own to block it. Luhan drew back to ponder for a moment. While he remained still, Tao sped across the field. Displaying a number of not-so-graceful spins, he swung his sword downward from behind him. But he suddenly froze in mid-air. Luhan pointed his sword upward at the younger, slowly walking forward, causing the sword to penetrate skin. With each step forward, Luhan’s sword dug deeper into Tao’s stomach.
“I told you, I was destined to win.” Luhan whispered when he was next to the younger’s ear, blood from the open wound rolling onto him, permanently staining his hands in a metaphoric way.
“Screw you, Luhan”. Tao fell forward, lifeless. Kris muffled a terrified scream. The crowd cheered and shouted and applauded wildly.
“Congratulations to our Victor, the Titan of Mind Control, Luhan!” Kris’s father spoke. “Now, as a gracious gift from the people, you were promised a free, lax life until you die naturally." Few guards dragged the limp bodies off the field.
Guards also surrounded Luhan. And hand cuffed him. “Too bad the people aren’t so gracious anymore. After finding out about your little plans with TOP, the people decided they wanted a public execution. Let’s see if your little friends will come out to help you now!”
Luhan struggled against their forces and even tried controlling them, but there were too many to get away. Guys now would be a great time to step in even in their minds, Luhan’s voice quivered. The eight that were hidden rushed onto the field and fought the guards holding Luhan captive. Suddenly the audience jumped from the stands into the arena, out numbering the Titans by the thousand. Back to back, they held their ground while trying to not harm their opponents too badly.
While Lay healed Tao, D.O., Kai, and TOP, Kris summoned his large raven black wings to push humans backwards with the air gusts while Sehun used his power to do the same.
“I’m not done yet, at this rate you’ll lose too much blood." Kris heard a dispute behind him.
“I don’t care, I have to help them!" Tao’s voice spoke weakly.
“Lie back down or I will beat you senseless." Lay’s tone was intense.
Kris smiled slightly and continued to push the humans back without harming them. Slowly the color of the world was fading to grey and the humans frozen. The clock stood still.
“Tao!” Kris feared the worse… perhaps Tao had decided to go back in time again. But he was just lying in Lay’s arms with a face that mimicked the confusion of everyone else. Tao shook his head as he felt everyone mentally question him.
“Hello,” Luhan spoke, but his eyes were glossed over, “You finally made it further in the timeline than any time before this; congratulations,Titans. The voice, deeper than Luhan's, projected from the small body. “You all wish for peace between you and the humans and today I am here to offer it to you. But the only way to fix a problem like this is to go back to when it started." He gestured to a portal.
“W-what do you want us to do?” Baekhyun asked nervously.
“Defeat your ancestors and take their powers away so you’ll never have to deal with them. Never be criticized or persecuted ever again. Now hurry." The voice left and Luhan regained consciousness.
Cautiously stepping through the rift in space, the twelve Titans stood on a sandy beach. “What about TOP?” Kris asked.
“His ancestor wasn’t part of the war, only ours were," Luhan said.
“…So when are they coming?” Chanyeol asked, observing the lunar eclipse that darkened the sky.
“Did you guys wait long?” a voice spoke from behind the group.
The Titans turned around to see a lone boy with luscious locks approaching from behind them. They had no clue who he could be, but the pin gave away his identity. The design encrusted into his jacket appeared to be circles and lines, but it was an exact replica of Luhan’s. Another Titan of Mind Control.
“Lee Sungmin," he bowed respectfully. "I was kind of hoping that perhaps we could all sit down and talk before we do anything rash…”
“What are you talking about?” Tao blinked.
“… the fight… you know, to settle the territory problem… no? You guys are Titans though… I can read your minds…” Sungmin trailed off.
“Wow, a lot more people showed up than I expected," a lean man with slick brown hair suddenly appeared next to Sungmin.
“We’re not here to fight you, I mean we are, but we’re not originally supposed to…” Suho tried explaining.
While the group was discussing, more and more people gathered around into a circle. Some introducing themselves formally, while others murmured their names out of the corners of their mouth. No one looked particularly excited to be there though.
“I didn’t expect there would be so many Titans in this world…” a stranger with deep red hair spoke.
“So, we all know why we’re here. Why don’t we just get down to business?" The other Titan of Flight, Hankyung, suggested, eyeing Kris in the corner of his eye.
“That’s why I wanted to talked about it calmly,” Sungmin said quietly.“Perhaps we can come to an agreement of some sort?”
“Screw that!” The other Titan of Fire, Siwon, punched Sungmin square in the jaw and unleased the war the Titans were supposed to prevent.
