Chapter 71

Youngest of Pieces: [WHO- I AM] (8)

Standing in front of them is stylist Lee Yong Hyun, standing in a t-shirt and boxers; his hair is a big mess, he is unshaved and he looks like a wreck. Yong Hyun looks troubled when seeing them, ruffling his messy hair even more.

“Come in, I have to get some coffee,” he mumbles and leaves the door open for them to step inside.

“Rough night?” Hannah looks confused.

Yong Hyun gives out a sound as answer, disappearing in to the kitchen next to the bedroom. His place is simple; a big living-room with little furniture, big paintings on the walls and even some of his work is there. Three rooms are across the living-room, doors next to each other for the bathroom, bedroom and open space in to the kitchen. Hannah takes a step to the right to sit down in the sofa, and from there she can see a glimpse in to the bedroom, and her jaw drops before she rushes over to the kitchen where her stylist and friend is fixing coffee.

“There is someone in your bed!” she hisses quietly, panicking in a good way and she laughs when her stylist is so messed up that he can’t even smile. She had spotted a pair of feet in the bed. “Is it him? The one you have mentioned?”

“Jae Eun; Moon Jae Eun,” Yong Hyun whispers to her and she is smiling so widely when seeing his face-expression. “He showed me his cooking skills yesterday, and then we drank some wine.”

“Oh, the wine,” Hannah understands and he chuckles, repeating what she said while nodding. “That’s why you have a headache too.”

“Are we going?” Manager Lee stands by the kitchen entrance. “We have a schedule to follow.” He hasn’t heard them talk and Hannah giggles when taking a step back. It’s so nice to see Yong Hyun enjoying life. Just wait until Maria hears about this!

“You have to tell Maria,” Hannah reminds him.

“I know. She wants all details on the date; I’m already prepared,” Yong Hyun says when fixing a cup for him. “You want any coffee, cupcake?” Yong Hyun looks over at the manager who just walks away, and Yong Hyun smiles at Hannah. “Always so charming, that man. Could I get to talk to the hunk waiting in my bed before we head downstairs?”

Hannah nods with a smile, letting him walk pass her. He goes inside his bedroom, and Hannah walks out to the living-room where her manager is waiting.

“There’s a guy in his bed,” Manager Lee hisses to her, his tone and face-expression completely different from Hannah’s. She smiles widely, understanding why her stylist likes to .

“A hunk,” she corrects him with a smile before pushing him outside. “We’ll wait downstairs, Oppa!”

Manager Lee is panicking, and Hannah laughs when they are walking down the stairs.

“Have you never woken up next to another person before?” she jokes with him.

“Never another guy,” Manager Lee grimaces. She is happy he is walking in front of her so she can’t see the expression in his face.

“Maybe you should try,” Hannah mutters and she reaches her tongue out at him when he turns around. “You are judging too much in my opinion.”

“Would you ever try sleeping with a girl then?” Manager Lee asks and turns around when they step out on the ground. He shows his hands when seeing her face-expression. “Exactly my point”

Hannah doesn’t know if she would ever sleep with a girl. If it is an attractive girl, sure; maybe if she’s drunk… She has kissed a girl before though; she still remembers her tipsy mind when she and Amber kissed, not really remembering the feeling other than it was strange. Definitely she prefers Jonghyun, and as long as she has a boyfriend she doesn’t have to try something else – in her opinion at least.

“But I am more open-minded than you,” Hannah tells him, “I don’t mind having a good friend being gay, or the idea of homouality.”

“That’s because you’re from Sweden.”

“My mom is from Sweden; she doesn’t like it.”

“Your mother doesn’t seem to like a lot of things.”

Hannah glares at him, not even thinking before finding herself doing it.

“I’m sorry!” Manager Lee bursts out. “I don’t know why I said that…”

She looks down on the ground, pouting but not saying anything. He doesn’t know her mother; he has never even met her. Hannah doesn’t talk much about her either, so she doesn’t know why he said that and neither will she ask him why he has this idea of her mother, instead, Hannah looks up at the stylist when he comes down the stairs with all the keys on a cord in his hand. He still looks like a wreck.

“I’ve got one long maxi dress ready for you, but the other dresses are gorgeous and simple, making you look ready for summer,” Yong Hyun is selling his clothes while unlocking the door, using one key after another.

“I don’t want short dresses…”

“If it’s too short, you can wear something underneath; I know this will work, Hannah, don’t doubt my skills,” Yong Hyun says and glides open the garage port before walking in. He has prepared one clothing rack only with the dresses suggested for Hannah’s book-promotions. It is standing out in the open to be catching the attention, and below it he has put a few shoes of high-heel sandals and strappy wedge sandals. Manager Lee stays outside, smoking while waiting for them to work inside.

His dresses are pretty, but Hannah thinks they are too short.

“These are not short; only this one is short and it is a tunic,” Yong Hyun tells her.

Hannah tries all seven dresses. When she is standing there in a black sleeveless a-line dress that she actually likes, someone knocks by the door so them both turns around. Hannah smiles shyly right away when seeing the muscular, surprisingly tall man by the door and the man looks a little shy too.

“I’ll call you later, okay?” the man says and Hannah looks up at her stylist who stumbles over a pair of shoes to reach up to the man.

It’s like a first row at the movies, seeing the two of them stand close to each other by the door and shyly thank for yesterday before Yong Hyun gives him a peck on his lips.

The man gives a nod at Hannah. “It was nice meeting you,” he says before leaving and the moment he turns his back towards them, Hannah opens as widely she can when staring at that muscular back. Yong Hyun comes back next to Hannah, smiling and he is so filled with satisfaction.

“Maria will be so jealous!” Hannah whispers to him, filled with excitement over the true hunk their friend has gotten himself.

“I know!” Yong Hyun says in a light, happy voice. It looks like he has already imagined Maria’s reaction if she will meet this hunk one day, and Hannah laughs by the thought of it. “Now, I do not think jeans will be good…”

“No pants; it’s horrible to wear in the summer,” Hannah is fast to turn down his suggestion. “I liked that one.”

Emelia finishes her rap while lightly dancing what they have been taught, no music is playing other than the sound of their voices and feet and their choreographer clapping his hands for them to know the beat; dancing on the left side along with Carolina is Emelia while the other three members are on the right side. Carolina takes on the next rap.

*The dream of five ladies get thrown at you like a BOMB

Running to an endless dream, we are coming, right, ready now*

Their choreographer moves his hands up in the air to make them stop, stepping up to take Carolina’s place next to Emelia.

“When you two are done rapping, those three over there will dance. You have to clasp your hands together like the friends you sing about in the song, touch shoulders like this and freeze before Lina’s part ends,” he demonstrates while talking and then lets the two of them try it out. “Let’s try it with the rap again, starting from Emelia’s part.”

The three girls on the right side are dancing in synch, more focusing on themselves than the two on the right when looking at their mirror-reflection. Choreographer Jae Young keeps clapping his hands for them to continue even after the rap, and that is the chorus. Julia and Hannah steps behind on each side of Maria for the lead vocalist to sing the first part of the chorus, Hannah will take the other part.

*I will never forget where I come from

I will never forget who I grew up to be

[Hannah] Because we will somehow reach the top

TO BE UNFORGETTABLE*

5 Pieces are back in the practice room in the afternoon after finishing their activities in the morning, for Julia to pre-record Music Core and Hannah to be at the gym. They are learning the choreography for a song from their third album called [Unforgettable], a song that among fans have been explained to be a song with explosive rap and strong vocals; the song is about that they keep facing hard times to become unforgettable, and wherever you look up this song online it has a comment to be a song you do not want to miss. These girls are doing their best to learn the best choreography for the song, imagining the concert stage.

Like on any other song or practice, the girls are hard-working. Today it could be because they are panicking over the lack of time they will have to prepare for the concert, so they are all focused on doing their best and do as much as possible to bring perfection to this concert. It is their five year anniversary concert; it isn’t officially that, but since it is their second tour taking place in their fifth year, the girls wants it to be a concert that shows only the best sides of what they have learnt spending five years as 5 Pieces.

Hannah has turned off her cell phone, not wanting any distraction from Jonghyun or Kyung Ho or something about the book when she wants to stay focused on the concert preparations. She gives her all today to the practice. After being at the gym you could expect her to be tired, but with her body warmed up it feels like she manages to practice twice as much before she gets a single exhausted. She will often try to go to the gym in the mornings, just because it helps her to survive the rest of the day, especially if the rest of the day is practice, practice. They have an endless practice today it feels like, for hours they learn choreographies and lyrics of their songs, eating dinner and late snack in the practice-room in between all those hours. All until midnight, even after midnight they are still dancing and practicing and repeating what they have gone through during the day.

Their choreographer tells them when to wrap up, just because they need to sleep for tomorrow’s schedule.

“Can’t we just do it one more time?” Hannah suggests, out of breath with her hands tightly holding on around her waist but she doesn’t want to forget this new choreography.

Shin Jae Young gets a stricter look in his face, his eyes almost glaring at Hannah when pointing at her.

“There is no staying over until a week before the show,” he says before he grabs his back, wanting to go home and sleep as well, “tomorrow we’ll start and go through briefly what we learned today just to make sure everyone got it.”

The girls are getting their things too, Hannah too follows them out. She is using her feet and legs to dance when standing by the van, waiting for the others to come and she is trying to remember some parts of what they have learned today. Carolina looks at her feet, and then dances the same part as Hannah just to make sure she still remembers it too.

“Let’s go home, sleep, and get up early to go practice,” Maria says when walking straight by them to get inside the van.

They are in the practice-mood, feeling a pressure on them as it is their second tour and they really want to do well. But the moment the van starts moving, the girls almost falls asleep. Not a single sound is made, not a word is said and the girls are just calming down from practicing.

Hannah looks tired when they step out of the van and Carolina takes a hold to hug her arm, them all heading inside the building and up to their apartment.

“Sleep,” Emelia repeats what their manager said when he dropped them off, putting her hands on Carolina’s back to guide her and Hannah up the stairs to the bedrooms instead of the kitchen where Carolina was guiding Hannah.

Hannah has nothing against going to bed; she washes up in the bathroom she shares with Emelia. The two of them don’t lock their doors when they use the bathroom (unless it is some toilet visits) so when Hannah is in the shower, Emelia is brushing her teeth. None of them talk to each other, too tired and they just want to wash up before going to bed. When Hannah is done showering she covers herself with the towel and goes inside her bedroom, not closing the bathroom’s door after her as she just gets dressed in sleepwear before she walks back in to finish washing up.

When she is done she mumbles goodnight to Emelia when leaving the bathroom, going to bed more than gladly and the moment Emelia has gone to bed it gets quiet and Hannah falls asleep, not hearing much from the other three members.

She had her cell phone during some of the breaks today, texting to Kyung Ho most of the time and also actor Mat Park who she filmed with during last year’s Midnight Dream drama had texted her to confirm that he will try come to her book launch party the day after tomorrow. She hasn’t met him in like forever it feels like, so she wrote to him that he is more than welcomed – honestly, she is looking forward to see him again. She is looking forward to her whole book being published and the promotions and everything good and bad that will come with this book, but she can’t help but to feel that she doesn’t have the time for it. Her book is just a hobby, something she is supposed to do on the side; her real work, her real hobby and life is 5 Pieces. Shouldn’t she be preparing for the concert? They have a lot of things to do, and the girls will go to Sweden, they will go to Japan and more during this time from now to when the first concert is so there is lack of time according to Hannah; they got three weeks to prepare for the concert.

She can’t accept more book promotion suggestions before that. She needs to focus on the concert; she knows that yet she also knows that tomorrow she will have to focus on her book after practice. Of course she has to do that; the book is being published the day after! Or in fact, today she will have to focus on the book because it is already morning and which means it is tomorrow the book is being published.

Hannah finds herself lying in bed on her back, unable to sleep and she is just staring out at nothing, hearing paws on the floor outside her room.

The second book is being published tomorrow… ‘Joe – Déjà Vu’, her very own written novel part two, will be read by fans and strangers and people judging her, trying to find flaws in things she has written and can’t change. Being judged is the worst part, but she knows she can handle it. Last year people said she was a fraud, now she has gotten past that and knows she can trust her fans who not for a moment believed that. Fans have been writing to her on twitter, hundreds of fans commenting that they can’t wait to read this second book, to find out what will happen and just get to read something that she has written.

Last year Hannah was so certain people would read the book because she is 5 Pieces’ Hannah; all her fans maybe did so too, but now for the second book, people will read it because they have read the first one; because they like it and expect the second book to be just as good. Maybe better? Hannah doesn’t know. She hopes and wishes the readers will like the second book just as much as the first one, and if she is lucky the readers will think she did well.

She is all dizzy thinking about it, turning to lie on the side and she smiles when seeing the source of the low noise she has been hearing coming from outside her room. Ryo is walking up to her bed, his tail waving like crazy when noticing she is awake. He then turns around, running across the room to take a knotted cuddle toy elephant from Hannah’s pile of unpacked things.

“Why do you take that, Ryo?” Hannah smiles tiredly and stretches down her hand over the side of the bed when the white puppy comes walking up to her with the toy in his mouth. “Can’t sleep either?”

She moves in further in her bed and pats the place next to her, seeing how Ryo starts to prepare to jump up. On first try he just jumps up with his front paws, standing there and trying to stretch his way up before Hannah tells him to go down and she tells him to jump, so the pet takes a step back before trying again and this time manages to get up with some small struggling and he lies down almost on top of Hannah, making her groan. Michin is just the same; why do they have to lie down almost on top of you all the time?

Hannah is patting him, playing a little lightly with the toy in his mouth too while the two of them are lying there in her bed. His fur has gotten so long, it is soft and cuddly and he is like a pillow – the best substitute for her boyfriend, according to Maria. Hannah hasn’t usually thought of that, she just likes it when Ryo is in her room because he has five bedrooms to choose from and he has chosen hers tonight. Or this morning.

She takes a glance at the clock in her bedroom. The alarm will go off soon; she has slept for a few hours before she woke up because of all the worries and thoughts in her head. She has no thoughts of trying to go back to sleep, and soon it seems like Ryo is sleeping.

They both stay in bed until they hear movements in the apartment. The bathroom next too is used, and Ryo lifts his head up over the sound.

“It’s just Emelia,” Hannah whispers to the puppy, holding him down to not ruin the mood between them. She still listens to what Emelia is doing, impressed by the thick walls so she can’t hear everything as she has heard in other apartments. Ryo hurries out of bed when he hears someone walking down the stairs, and Hannah pouts for being left alone.

For just a moment she falls back asleep; woken up twenty minutes later by the doorbell downstairs and she decides to get up.

Downstairs, Emelia had gotten the time to prepare some breakfast, coffee and tea-water before it rang on the doorbell. Opening the front-door, she welcomes their Life of Pieces filming crew inside as well as their managers, telling them that it is coffee and tea-water ready in the kitchen if they want and that all the other ladies are still asleep.

Without anyone being awake, there is no work for the crew, which Emelia had thought of and prepared in the kitchen for them and she is the only member heading upstairs once they have arrived. She turns on the cameras in the corridor upstairs before she heads inside her bedroom to change clothes, but when opening the drawer in her room she stops, smelling something. She turns to look at the bathroom-door, frowning visibly in her pale face. Though the group had spent a few days in the sun in Okinawa, Emelia barely got any colour at all; not that she minds it, she likes her pale skin. Grabbing the tank top she is going to wear, she heads to the bathroom-door and peeks inside.

“Have you showered?” Emelia sounds shocked.

Hannah is standing in the bathroom with a towel around her wet body, her hair up in a high up to not get wet, but definitely, she has showered. Emelia could smell the shower-gel they share all in to her bedroom because the door was open, and she can’t believe what she sees.

“Yes?” Hannah looks confused at the question, and the expression on her friend’s face.

“You showered before going to bed, Hannah…”

For a moment, Hannah is expressionless, trying quickly to remember that she has showered already. She thought her hair was surprisingly good compared to that she had practiced so hard yesterday, but she can’t really remember if she showered before going to bed…

“I maybe have too much on my mind,” Hannah says as an excuse and heads out of the bathroom in a hurry to dry up and get dressed.

Emelia looks after her from her own door, not stopping to frown. It isn’t the first time Hannah has done the same thing over again. One time in Tokyo she had brushed her teeth two times in the morning, saying as an excuse that she didn’t do it correctly the first time. Emelia is smart and she has known Hannah for over twelve years; once is okay, but two times makes her suspicious. Sure they all were tired when they came home just a few hours ago, but to forget you showered?

She doesn’t think too much about it at the moment though, as she instead calls out for Hannah to know that the cameras are on, the staff is downstairs and that their managers will probably take a walk with the puppies soon unless a lady gets downstairs to do it; she says the last part because she knows Hannah often likes to give their puppies their breakfast and take them for a walk.

“I’ll be down in a few minutes,” Hannah answers while getting ready in her room.

Yong Hyun had bought even more clothes to her, giving her a bag yesterday that she brought with her home. She takes on a gray oversize logo print t-shirt and a pair of cropped black leggings; it is the perfect outfit for practice. She is confused over that she showered twice, but she is more worried that her members will figure out it is not because she had too much on her mind that she accidentally showered twice.

With a deep breath she takes her hands over her face, rubbing her eyes when getting out of her room with her bag, now thinking of the things she has to do before they will leave for the practice.

In the back of her head she is aware of the cameras in the apartment being , but she actually doesn’t think their reality show will show her walking, so without too much care she heads downstairs, greeting the staff and nodding when Manager Lim asks if she is going to walk the puppies. Both Michin and Ryo are in the kitchen, eyes focused on whoever is eating or drinking something in hope they will receive something too. Hannah tells Ryo to lie down when she comes inside the kitchen, seeing how he is begging one in the staff for the sandwich he is eating, and the puppy does as he is told. It is a full house; staff enjoying morning coffee or a quick breakfast while waiting for the ladies to wake up. By Hannah’s entrance, there are two more camera-men starting to film, doing their job and trying to not film the rest of the staff as this is supposed to be 5 Pieces’ home.

“Did you sleep well?” Hannah asks the staff when she is taking out a strawberry milk from the fridge to drink, glancing over at the table where the staff and Emelia are sitting. They are filling up the kitchen and some of them answers her that they slept like babies or that they slept well, one says his son kept him up half the night. Hannah puts down the milk on the counter to fix breakfast for the puppies – who, by the way both flies up once she takes out their food – and only when the puppies are eating she drinks her milk (taking her medicine at the same time) and gets ready to leave.

“Sung Young will walk with you,” Manager Lim tells Hannah with a nod at Manager Kim who is drinking coffee in a green cup. Manager Kim and Hannah exchange glances, nodding at each other. Hannah has nothing against the female manager’s accompany, actually she thinks she will like it because Manager Kim is good to talk and keep a conversation going with the ladies, which means Hannah doesn’t have to talk and try to not be awkward with the person walking with her.

Hannah takes Michin’s leash while Manager Kim takes Ryo’s and the two of them get out of the apartment, going for a walk. While being on the walk with the manager talking, Hannah checks her cell phone that she has kept by her bra as she doesn’t have any pockets. She checks twitter as well, where she has changed her profile-picture to a picture from her photo-shoot with ELLE two weeks ago. Her make-up is really nice in that picture. 56 more tweets have been sent to her since last night about her new book, fans are excited about it and just reading their tweets puts her in a great mood.

“My nephew wants to get a copy of that book, signed,” Manager Kim comments with a smile. “I remember how crazy he got last year when he read it; whenever I visited my sister he would ask me if you are planning to release the second book soon.”

“I think I have promised that I will sign a book for him,” Hannah smiles back. They are already heading back to the apartment, walking through the doors to the building.

“Just making sure you remember it,” Manager Kim smiles widely when holding up the door, and Hannah laughs at her manager’s smooth way to see if she remembered the promise she made.

It’s understandable by the massive of requests Hannah receives; even comedians have nephews or children or even siblings they ask Hannah if she can sign the book for them, as they are big fans. For some reason she receives more requests to sign the book than what it is about their albums; maybe because the group prepares to hand out their albums during their promotions when visiting music stations and variety shows and radios and more, while her book is only signed for friends who asks her and at book signings.

They come back to the apartment, talking in low voices about Manager Kim’s most recent birthday celebration for her youngest nephew. Maria is coming down the stairs from the second floor when they walk inside, Maria not really awake yet but she is at least dressed and up walking. Hannah walks after her inside the kitchen to eat fresh berries, yoghurt and a little cereal for breakfast; the table is now empty beside from Manager Lim and Julia sitting there, the manager drinking coffee and going through some papers while Julia is eating breakfast. Both Hannah and Maria sit down to eat too.

“Did anyone wake Carolina up?”

“I tried at least five times,” Julia mutters. “EM did it two times too.”

“One time,” Emelia corrects with a spoon in the air. “She locked herself up in the bathroom.”

Manager Lim sighs, writing something down on his papers before looking up, asking Emelia if she could make sure she hasn’t fallen asleep again. Emelia, who is eating breakfast for the second time this morning, takes her bowl of yoghurt and cereal to go upstairs, calling for Michin to come along. Because she has food with her, the puppy runs quickly after her.

Carolina is just lazy to get up in the morning, upset for not getting to sleep, but once she is dressed and has gotten something to eat they are leaving the apartment with the filming crew in another van, going to SM Entertainment to continue yesterday’s practice.

5 Pieces starts off warming up in the practice-room, stretching and warming up both voices and bodies and they talk a little about what they did yesterday, what they want to finish doing today and just talking. Their choreographers are there too, waiting for the ladies to be warmed up before they go through what they learned yesterday.

“I still think we should do it with just the ladies,” Maria tells their choreographer, having her serious face-expression on with a hand in the air and the other in her neck, as she has been pointing around at the people in the room. “Since [Unforgettable] is a song about 5 Pieces; our friendship and our hardship. With just the five of us it is more focus on the details of the lyrics.”

“Fine. We’ll do it with the five of you,” their choreographer agrees.

Maria starts to smile widely. “You agree with me so quickly today,” she teases him, aware of the cameras filming her. Hannah is busy putting up her hair in a tighter pony-tail than the bun she had before.

“I agree with that it fits the song better with just the five of you,” choreographer Jae Young answers her, standing about three meters away from Maria. The leader seems surprised though.

They all have gotten in a better mood after getting some sleep, more energy than what they had last night. And some of them are in a better mood as well. Their choreographer isn’t as strict now in the morning as he gets in the late evenings.

5 Pieces go through the song another time on their own before moving on to the next song; [Panic]. It is a song they used for a cell phone commercial last year, but the girls are stuck with the song because of its concept. The commercial they did was a full music video, of 5 Pieces with five different elements that were taken out from their debut days, a lot of effects with fire, water, air, earth and metal and these charismatic ladies from 5 Pieces. Those are the elements the ladies have had since before their debut days and when thinking of what to do for the concert, they wanted this song because it’s a new song but it has their old power in it (that’s what Emelia says). The girls looked through last year’s dance video of this song, just as a reminder before they start dancing and trying to remember their positions and the choreography. Since they didn’t perform the song that much and it’s been a year, it is not easy to remember it – especially as they have had a lot of many songs after that, many choreographies to learn – so the girls starts off the dance bumping in each other a few times during the first few times trying out the song.

Four of the five girls keep practicing even when Julia heads off to her Inkigayo performance with SNSD’s Yuri of [I’m Sleepy]. The song has been high on the music charts, as far as reaching second place, and on yesterday’s Music Core it was on fourth place. It’s been for weeks already since Julia made her solo debut. Though 5 Pieces always make sure to watch each other’s performances, often during the live broadcasts, they forget it today because there is too much focus on the practice, only afterwards when hearing dinner is there they panic for missing it.

“Let’s watch it when eating and pretend we saw it live,” Maria suggests when taking a seat around the table in the cafeteria. Hannah nods eagerly in agreement, spotting Emelia already preparing to take out the tablet from their manager’s bag. Carolina stretches over the table to take a tomato from Emelia’s food when she isn’t watching and Hannah giggles at it; keeping an eye on her own food.

“Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!” Emelia is leaning away from the tablet in her hands when she is searching for today’s Inkigayo performance. Hannah looks confused over her reaction and Maria fills with food before asking what has happened. Emelia turns the tablet around for them to see and Hannah can just feel how her jaw is falling.

“HWAT?!” Maria spits out food before grabbing the tablet to watch it closer.

“Oh my god!” Hannah bursts out, not knowing what else to say and she looks at her left where the leader is sitting with the food stuck in her open mouth. Carolina runs around the table and Emelia gives out a loud cheer. And then it starts; the girls are screaming their lungs out, cheering and celebrating and not caring at all that they are in the cafeteria where dancers and staff are walking by or sitting there, resting.

“Shshshshsshsh, we have to see! We have to see!” Maria is waving her hands in the air, giving the tablet to Emelia as she can’t hold it straight and Hannah can’t stop giggling.

It is not Julia’s performance of [I’m Sleepy] they are going to see. What they saw and freaked out about was that the site Emelia came in on had a big headline reading ‘5 Pieces Julia Wins On Inkigayo’. Like, what? THAT is what the freak out is about. And that is what they are watching; the ending of Inkigayo where this week’s winner is being announced.

Its true Julia is up for first place, the girls sees that and because they know how it will end they keep watching their friend in the video. But they don’t comment on that she looks so comfortable standing there next to SNSD’s Yuri; as it is the fourth week, it definitely was nothing they expected. Hannah is all shaky of happiness when wondering how Julia reacted, waiting for the winner to be announced to finally get to see it. [I’m Sleepy] got first place!

Again the four of them starts to cheer when it is being announced in the video, laughing at how silly they actually are. But this is Julia’s first solo win – all other times have been with 5 Pieces. It is big!

Hannah gets all teary when seeing Julia’s shocked face-expression, how Yuri is jumping and cheering next to her, and the microphone and price and flowers all given to Julia who can’t close – and now, four girls are standing with their own mouths open watching it.

“She’s crying! Oh my god! Our Julia is crying!”

“I want to thank all our SM Town family,” Julia is starting to thank in the video, she is crying, not much but she is crying and Yuri is hugging her from the side with a huge smile at the camera and in the back EXO are appearing, jumping and cheering as well in the background, ready to congratulate a Piece once the speech is over. “Yuri, SNSD, Lee Soo Man… I can’t believe this... Thank you everyone! My mother, the dancers and staff… I love my ladies, 5 Pieces, thank you so much! Um, I’m really…”

She interrupts herself to give the microphone to Yuri, who gladly takes it and thanks for this opportunity to feature in Julia’s single and to receive such warm love from Puzzle. Julia gets the microphone back.

“I really want to thank all my fans and 5 Pieces, and my mother, who I love the most.”

“She is so happy,” Carolina looks touched by Julia’s happy face.

“Has anyone texted her…?” Emelia whispers. “Because she had probably expected several text messages when she went off that stage…”

Three girls look at her with the weirdest face-expressions. Of course they haven’t texted her; they just found out she won!

“We could make a surprise for her instead…” Hannah mumbles, terrified that they will disappoint Julia on such an important day.

“What about dinner…….?” Carolina wonders and groans when Maria hits her on her stomach.

“Julia just won first place and you’re thinking about dinner? We’ll eat during the making of a plan, duh,” Maria answers, rolling her eyes and she starts to eat right away, glancing up at Emelia who takes a seat. “What’s the plan?”

“A cake?”

“How can we get a cake before she comes back?” Hannah wonders, also hurrying to eat but she is also texting their manager who is supposed to be with Julia.

“Um… A card?” Carolina gives another suggestion.

“We should make a surprise for her,” Maria says and this time Emelia gives her a stare.

“What kind of surprise?” Emelia asks her in a bored tone.

“It should be … practice-room, dark,” Maria smirks and Emelia follows.

“And she will come inside, not understand a thing and then we will throw confetti at her – I know where they have a box filled with them. And instead of cake we can take choco-pies; I know where they have that too.”

Emelia knows probably everything eatable inside this building, and after twenty minutes the girls are in the practice-room, now with the camera crew as well who are filming them – they have been filming Julia during her time there too. They barely chewed their dinner as they had to eat so fast, and they fixed confetti and choco-pies and are now just waiting. Hannah is the one in contact with their manager, who has just texted that they are now in the building.

“Operation Surprise-Julia!” Carolina is so excited.

“We still haven’t seen the performance though,” Hannah mentions.

“Ah, do not mention to her that we didn’t see it live. She will expect the best out of us,” Maria reminds them. Sitting by the wall is their choreographer, just shaking his head at how silly they are, and he doesn’t mind that the camera catches him doing it either.

Emelia whispers to everyone to be quiet. The room gets dark and the girls hurries to stand in the corner to not be seen when the door is opened, giggling and hushing at each other quietly before they get completely quiet hearing voices outside the room. Maria hits Carolina on the stomach again when she can’t help from giggling and Hannah hurries to cover her own mouth to not make a sound.

The door makes a sound when it is slowly open, hesitation in the move when the person opening the door sees its dark inside.

“Where are they?” they hear Julia ask right before the door is opened a little more and someone turns on the lights. As if the light is the signal, the girls shout out together;

“CONGRATULATION!” and pops out the confetti in front of her while cheering with loud voices.

Julia gives out a scream at first when jumping back, at first even stepping outside the room to hide herself before she comes back in, looking like she is going to cry. “I hate you guys!” she cries out but she still hugs Carolina, pulling confetti out of her hair. “I thought you didn’t see it.”

“Would we miss such an important thing? Hey, get some choco-pies!” Maria cheers, already starting to sing and dance to some song in her head while Emelia holds out the choco-pies as she is done with the confetti. Hannah claps her hands and congratulates her again, everyone is happy for her.

Lucky for the girls, Julia wants to see the video again – the winning and the performance – so the girls gets to see it with her, eating choco-pies at the same time. They do it sitting in the middle of the practice-room. When watching the winning part again, they are interrupted by Manager Lee coming inside. He is starting his work now.

“Um…” his voice is heard when peeking inside the room. “Hannah, we got to go through tomorrow…”

She pouts but get up on her feet, not stopping to pout when she gets her bag and she checks an extra time to see that no cameras will follow her at the moment. Julia gives a laugh, pointing at the tablet to laugh at her face of crying.

“Bye!” Hannah calls out and waves to the ladies who waves back, not seeming to care that she is leaving as they are focusing on the video. Hannah pouts at her manager when they walk out the room.

“Have you gotten any sleep?” he asks her, being used to have her pout at him interrupting her when she is having a good time.

“We’ve been practicing the whole day,” Hannah answers. “What about you?”

“I have spent half the day sleeping and the other half working,” he answers and points over at the door to the conference-room. “We’ll just go through everything to not have any questions later, alright?”

“I know,” Hannah answers and steps aside to let him walk first.

From now on, she will focus on her book: the interviews, the questions and answers, the events, the fans she might meet and most of all to give a good impression of herself as the author and the book. It will go just fine; she tries to convince herself when sitting down around the table.

Before starting, she writes on twitter {twitter, 5P_HANNAH: Congratulation to the best summer hit this year! I’m Sleepy, our Julia and Yuri are the best~}
