Chapter 34

Youngest of Pieces: [WHO- I AM] (8)

When the remix of [-erase you-] comes to an end, the stage goes dark for 5 Pieces to hurry over to the main stage where the lights goes on again for the introduction and first talk. Smiling yet sweating from the songs they have performed; 5 Pieces gives out a shout of excitement to the now loudly cheering audience, the ladies holding on to each a microphone to not use the headset when talking. Once the audience has calmed down, the ladies can start to talk.

“5 Pieces’ first arena tour in Japan the start-off in Tokyo!” Emelia cheers out in Japanese excitedly and the audience cheers out too. “Good evening everyone, we are pieces of one-”

“5 Pieces!” the group introduces in chorus and bows down.

Hannah gives out a happy giggle before standing up straight and she waves happily. “Everyone in Tokyo, hello, I am the cute Hannah from 5 Pieces!” she starts off to greet in Japanese and gives a cute peace-sign by her eye and gives a happy laugh over the response. “We are so excited to finally have an arena tour in Japan… aren’t you?!” She reaches out the microphone to hear the wild laugh with a smile. “Are you having fun? … Let’s continue to have even more fun tonight!”

She finishes off with a big wave, so happy, and she keeps smiling for herself when the other members introduce themselves too.

“Nice to meet you, I’m 5 Pieces’ Julia!”

“Hello Tokyo! LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM!!” Carolina shouts out in English and gets really happy when the audience actually gives a scream. “I’m 5 Pieces’ mascot Carolina! I’m happy to see you!”

She overdoes the cuteness when saying she is happy to see their fans, a phrase she thinks is really cute and the audience seems to agree on that. Emelia smirks when her turn is next, and the audience just screams when seeing her smirk.

“It’s been a while,” she coolly says in Japanese, “How are you?!”

The audience screams again to answer her question and Emelia nods.

“I’m fine too,” she says, “It’s good to meet again and you are amazing so far, let’s continue to be amazing; I’m the charismatic EM of 5 Pieces.”

Ending with a bow, they move on to the final member. The camera filming for the big screen films a close-up on her face as it has shown for the other members, and when Maria just stands there and smiles, the audience starts to scream. Hannah leans forward to try see what the leader is up to, smiling too. And as the silence continues from the leader, the audience starts to chant out her name to get to hear her voice. Maria gets this big smile in her face.

“You all know my name already,” she proudly tells the audience in Japanese, hearing laughter and some more screams over her words. She is such a diva. “Nice to meet you, I’m 5 Pieces’ Captain and yours favourite princess; Maria.”

She has practiced that so hard to say in Japanese, and she finishes with a strange bow. The audience loves it, so the ladies are all satisfied.

“Beside from 5 Pieces, we would like you all to give a cheer to our lovely dancers Tokyo Drifters and the band Nice Kiss who are here with us today to help out create the best concert for all of you. A big applause!” Emelia cheers and the ladies turns around to applause too while the band are bowing to receive it and the dancers who runs up from one side just to be applause before hurrying down the other side of the stage.

“Whoa!” Hannah breathes out happily in the microphone, glancing at her members before continuing to say in Japanese; “We were so nervous backstage that I thought we would break down performing in front of everyone tonight, but I think… have we done well so far?” She asks the audience, and the thanks them when they cheers out loudly that they are doing well.

“All of you have done well too!” Maria bursts out, a little too loud but that’s okay because she is just as excited as the others.

“We surely heard you singing and performing outside the arena all day today,” Emelia laughs and points out at the audience, and they scream loudly as if they hadn’t expected 5 Pieces to know about what is going on outside while they are rehearsing indoors.

“You are all so great,” Carolina comments in Japanese and gives the thumb up to the audience.

“Before moving on to our next song, we would like to thank all of you for coming here this evening and … please enjoy the concert,” Hannah sweetly tells after giving a glance at her members to know they should move on. The ladies are starting to move away from where they have been standing, restless to continue and Carolina squatting down to drink some water.

“The next song is … eh, I’ll just let you guess,” Emelia drops the introduction with a laugh, but Maria was already getting prepared to say it with her, so Maria ends up saying cheerfully;

“[Hey! Hey! Hey!]!”

The girls laughs at it while the music from their first Japanese single starts to play and Hannah gives a jump when shouting out *HEY!*

[Carolina] *HE-HEY, IT’S ME*

5 Pieces are starting to dance to the song on the main stage, starting off a little messy but still fun while Hannah is the one starting to sing. They laugh a little too when starting off; it is a cheerful song.

[Hannah] *When it is hard,

When you don’t have the strength*

[Maria] *Life keeps going up and down,

It is part of the world

When you have a hard time,

[Carolina] Look at the sky

[Maria] Smile with me, sing with me*

[Julia] *Today is a new sunny day

I will smile and have fun,

COME WITH ME*

At the end of Julia’s part, the ladies dancing together breaks out as the ladies starts to either run out or walk out on the rest of the stages, the audience cheering loudly at the sudden change.

[5 Pieces] *Smile with me, sing with me,

Now do it all again, we go, so fun-fun

[Carolina] Let’s give it a go!*

[CHORUS]

*HEY! HEY! HEY! [Maria] Life is smiling with you

HEY! HEY! HEY! [Hannah] Don’t be so down

Let us make the best of today

HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!*

*HEY, HEY, HEY DO I SAY, HEY, HEY, HEY

HEY, HEY, HEY DO I SAY, HEY, HEY, HEY by the way*

5 Pieces keeps jumping throughout the concert, having all the crazy energy because the audience keeps jumping along with them and shouting out *hey, hey, hey* with them. Hannah’s feet hurt so much in the high heels but she does her best to keep jumping, and she can’t stop smiling because the audience looks to have a blast with them. When [Hey! Hey! Hey!] comes to an end, 5 Pieces runs backstage while their third act ‘Five Girls’ video starts to play. It is now time for the solo parts, so only Hannah and Julia are in a hurry to change clothes.

“It’s going well, isn’t it?” Maria asks with a laugh when coming backstage, asking the staff and stylists. “At least they seem to know the new songs we have performed. They liked [090].”

Hannah feels so good changing to the sneakers, and she glances at Julia to see how far her friend has gotten. To match the concept of [Teenage Dream], Hannah is wearing a pair of dark skinny jeans and a fitting t-shirt and Julia is wearing a pair of light fitting jeans, white print top and a black vest. They take off the headset microphones and instead gets to hold a microphone in their hands.

When both of the girls are done changing they are heading back to the stage, meeting some colourful dressed dancers on the way and exchanging a few words about the stage briefly before hurrying their steps to not be late. Lucky them, they got plenty of time before the video ends it feels like so Hannah and Julia are quietly waiting while calming down a little.

The video comes to an end, and the band starts to play [Teenage Dream] while out on the very end of the side stages where there are bigger platforms, Hannah and Julia appears on each one. The focus is first on Julia though, of course, and Hannah just happily stands in her position. The dancers are running up on the stages too, all of them.

[Julia] *You think I’m pretty, without any makeup on

You think I’m funny, when I tell the punch line wrong

I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down*

Hannah clears , worried how her voice will come out. The music is loud but the pitch is still too light for her. either way, she just goes for it, hoping for the best, because the audience around her now looks so crazy.

[Hannah] *Before you met me, I was alright but things

Were kinda heavy, you brought me to life

Now every February, you’ll be my valentine, valentine*

She points out at the audience when singing about valentine, and when Julia continues to sing, everyone on the stage are putting one hand up in the air when she sings the first line. Hannah starts to back out on the stage to focus on the audience on the side and in the middle.

*Let’s go all, the way tonight

No regrets, just love

We can dance until we die

You and I will be young forever*

Hannah leans forward towards a camera filming for the screen below the stage and she draws a heart with her fingers, smiling while Julia is singing, and she charmingly moves her body when Julia signs about dancing. Jumpy the girls starts to sing the chorus, dancing the simple choreography they have created.

[CHORUS] *You make me feel like I’m living a teenage dream

The way you , I can’t sleep

Let’s runaway and don’t ever look back

Don’t ever look back

My heart stops when you look at me

Just one touch now baby I believe

This is real so take a chance and don’t ever look back

Don’t ever look back*

[Julia] *We drove to Cali, and got drunk on the beach

Got a motel and built a fort out of sheets

I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece

I’m complete*

During the end of the chorus they had started to head towards the second stage, so when Julia’s part is coming to an end Hannah is standing in the middle of that stage. Hannah points out at the audience which also Julia is doing while heading towards that stage when singing the third line, and Hannah takes out her arms and lifts her head up at Julia’s final line, and for obsessive fans they will get that Hannah is taking in that she is complete on the stage with the fans there. That is what she feels like anyway.

Hannah’s next part is the same that Julia sang earlier, so everyone puts their hand up in the air and Hannah sings her *all* a little differently just because the first times she practiced this song her voice cracked a little and she liked how it sounded different so without having her voice crack she makes it just a little different. She smiles when Julia comes up to her and the dancers are coming over too so when the chorus starts again, everyone are hurrying out once again. Hannah and Julia shifts stage, happily running out to continue entertain the audience.

[Hannah] *Let’s go all, the way tonight

No regrets, just love

We can dance until we die

You and will be young forever!*

[CHORUS] *…*

Hannah is almost laughing when she does her part after the chorus, cutely moving her hips back and forth to show her skin tight jeans, the dancers continuing to dance among them on the stages and Julia also dancing along on the other side. They are heading back to the second stage now, taking their time.

[Hannah] *I’ma get your heart racing

In my skin tight jeans

Be your teenage dream tonight*

[Julia] *Let you put your hands on me

In my skin tight jeans

Be your teenage dream tonight*

(tonight, tonight, tonight…)

For the *tonight* part, it is the background singers who does it and for that part, Julia and Hannah meets up on the stage in the middle, getting ready before the chorus starts anew and Hannah sings out a happy adlib, the girls and dancers dancing together.

*([Hannah] Yooooouuuuu make me)

[CHORUS] You make me feel like I’m living a teenage dream

The way you , I can’t sleep

Let’s runaway and don’t ever look back

Don’t ever look back (no~)

My heart stops when you look at me

Just one touch now baby I believe (Oh oh oh)

This is real so take a chance and don’t ever look back

Don’t ever look back*

*I’ma get your heart racing

In my skin tight jeans

Be your teenage dream tonight*

*Let you put your hands on me

In my skin tight jeans

Be your teenage dream tonight

(Tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight…)*

Hannah and Julia end their stage with a laugh, smiling towards the end when they had glanced at each other and they get off the stage for Maria to begin her solo. Staff gets their microphones and Manager Lee shows up when they have gotten away from the stage to guide them to the room.

“Was it okay?” Hannah asks the moment she sees their manager.

“It was great,” he answers, “your fans loved it. Hurry up.”

Julia seems to think it was great too, talking to a camera that is filming them backstage and being in the way when they are heading to the room. Manager Lee tells her to talk after changing, just because the ladies need to focus on the concert first of all.

Hannah is almost jumping backstage, so excited and she definitely got the energy. She doesn’t get as sweaty in the outfits they have for this concert as she got last year during their Moon Child tour; where she had a must to wear pants throughout almost the whole thing. Though the first outfit and also for the duet now she wore jeans, she wore shorts in between and the tops are also not covering as much as it did last year. The girl gets to calm herself a little before changing to the fourth outfit; a sleeveless tulle dress in beige, a pretty dress to their ballad act coming up next after the solos. Maria is still perfuming her ballad when Hannah is changing clothes, which means it is two more songs before the ballad part is up so it is no hurry at all. But there are still a lot of things going on backstage. Emelia and Carolina have gone to the side of the stage, watching Maria’s song while waiting for theirs, cameras following them backstage to capture some special moments.

The youngest girl can’t find herself to sit down wearing the pretty light coloured dress, worried she might ruin it. it goes down to her knees, showing off her s-line by being a litter lighter at her top but free at the waist down. The stylist makes some touches at her hair and Hannah is staring at her mirror reflection but her mind is all gone, her mind still left on the stage. The audience is so loud during their performances!

“How is the audience tonight?”

She doesn’t know if she was asked it two or three times, but the question was repeatedly heard from Hannah’s left side before she reacted on that the question was directed to her. She looks a little blank at first when seeing a woman filming her before she reacts and shoots a huge smile, not really able to move from where she is standing with the stylist working on her hair.

“The audience is so amazing,” Hannah brightly answers and glances behind the camera-woman just briefly. “They seem just as excited as us and that makes me even more excited. I’m looking forward to get back up there.”

She reaches out her hand to a person stepping up next to the woman, to get a bottle of water with a straw to drink from; the Japanese manager Kawayama telling Hannah when handing over the bottle that Hannah should communicate more with the fans as she and Emelia are the two able to communicate the best.

“I don’t know what more to say than what I’m already doing,” Hannah says in Japanese.

“Do more expressions like ‘are you having fun’ and those things.”

“But it is ballads now,” Hannah adds, having to face the front as her stylist is getting annoyed at the youngest looking to the side. The camera is still filming, but the concert comes first for Hannah.

“You don’t have to shout it out then.”

“Calmly,” Hannah understands, nodding after saying it in Japanese and the manager tells her they are doing really well. Hannah gives a happy smile at the manager, again being scolded by the stylist. “Are we doing well? My body is shaking like crazy of the adrenaline.”

The manager says they are the best before she walks away to exchange some words with Julia and the camera-woman takes a step closer to film Hannah a little from the front to not have her look to the side the whole time.

“Your Japanese is really good,” the camera-woman comments, and Hannah doesn’t really think about it until now but notices that the woman is speaking in Swedish. Hannah doesn’t know what language she had answered in before, but hopes she answered in Swedish back; she answers in Swedish now.

“Before 5 Pieces worked in Japan as a group, I went here on my own. I learnt Japanese while the others were learning Korean,” Hannah answers with a smile. “It feels like a long time ago but it just been three years.”

They can hear when Maria is coming. She is quietly whining, saying she needs to eat something when falling down on a chair, drinking some water and not caring that there are cameras filming. Maria looks around, asking where the snacks are and a manager gives her some simple snack that she can eat now to ease her fatigue from the performance. Maria and Emelia have weak bodies, so while the other members can survive a full concert by drinking water backstage, Maria and Emelia often need to take something to regain their energy. It isn’t about working out, they just have weak bodies that way – and it doesn’t change their presentation on stage as long as they get this extra snack backstage if they feel like collapsing. So the managers always have to keep some energetic snacks backstage.

Hannah ends up sitting down next to the stage once she has calmed down backstage, now watching the final solo stage.

The ladies all look fascinated when Emelia starts off her solo performance of [This Is Me]; standing on the stage with her electric guitar and the microphone on the stand in front of her. When [I Love Rock n Roll] ends, Emelia continues to play on the guitar nicely and the audience is loving her guitar solo because … easy, Emelia looks badass in her leather pants, black corset with that lilac/blue fabric under and long black hair and pale skin, and with a guitar added on that she looks the best. So cool.

Maria steps up next to Hannah when the guitarist Ryo steps up during the solo song to play with Emelia.

“Do you think they like each other more than friends?” Maria asks Hannah with a smile. “It wouldn’t surprise me. The moment we decided to have a band on the tour, Emelia wanted him to join us.”

Hannah just laughs at the idea. Emelia does call the guitarist for ‘lover’, but Hannah knows Emelia; guys are better friends than girls, apparently. They love the same kind of music, which is why they work so well on stage, but Hannah seriously doesn’t think Emelia likes him more than a music-fan.

It feels like forever before the ladies are getting ready to get back up on the stage. Four songs since Hannah were on the stage last time, and she is longing to get back up again. Emelia is fast to change to her sleeveless pleated chiffon tie-waist dress in ivory (that looks pretty on her light skin) when coming backstage after her solo, joining the members to wait for the ‘Emotional Girls’ video to come to an end. Maria is wearing a cutout-back contrast-trim dress in apricot, showing off her long slim body while Carolina is the only member hiding her legs in an accordion-pleat sleeveless dress in pink, which is extremely pretty and Julia is wearing a filled-hem lace dress in pink; short and pretty and the dress the other members all wanted to have but didn’t get. Julia looks pretty in it, like this little adorable tomboy with that hair of hers.

They are ready for the ballads. In the dark they go take their seats in the stairs; Hannah counts the steps before taking her seat, placing her feet as she had practiced would look the best (they stylists and choreographers had instructed them on how to sit to make their dresses and legs look the prettiest) and Hannah calms herself by closing her eyes before the music starts and soft lights shines up the five ladies sitting in dresses and looking surprisingly calm and pretty. The audience gives out a roar – seriously, it is a roar, a dark roar with a few light shouts here and there.

The ballad [Life, Life, Life] from their Japanese album is playing, and the audience is fast to get in the mood along with the ladies when they starts to sing. The song is emotional; a really good Japanese song that actually Hannah knows is Maria’s favourite in their album. Hannah hasn’t even started to sing before she is teary. Sitting down in the stairs, hearing Carolina singing emotionally (which she is actually really good at doing when it doesn’t sound forced) and seeing this purple ocean representing 5 Pieces and Puzzle… It is a great sight. Hannah has kept in her tears since before the concert, so happy that so many people in Japan have come to their concert, that so many people seem so excited when 5 Pieces is performing.

In October last year, 5 Pieces ended their first concert tour, which was around Asia and also two concerts in Sweden; but it feels like such a long time since she saw so many fans of just 5 Pieces gathered at one place. She loves the feeling, her way to hold in the tears makes her shoulders hurt.

Hannah is prettily sitting with her hands and the microphone in her lap, thinking the dress she is wearing looks really pretty and wondering if she looks as pretty as she feels. She thinks of the dress to not start to cry before her turn after about half the song, and she hears Maria’s part end. With the big screen zooming in on Hannah, she holds up the microphone lightly in her hand and she looks up and out at the audience when she starts to sing. She is singing their song, their Japanese ballad. Her voice comes out too soft at first, so she lets it get a little clearer, giving a soft and teary smile when looking at the audience. No sight will ever get more beautiful to her than the sight of their fans at a concert.

She looks back down and bites her lip when her part is over and Julia sings. It is a really beautiful and calm ballad song, letting you hear each word sung clearly. The Japanese language sounds beautiful when sung in a ballad; Hannah knows that is why Maria loves Japanese ballads. All Maria’s favourite songs in Japanese are ballads; BoA’s [Meri Kuri], DBSK’s [Love In The Ice] and [Why Did I Fall In Love With You] and so on. And Hannah agrees that the songs are really beautiful. 5 Pieces have gotten really good at singing ballads too; Hannah thinks they have improved so much since they learnt to sing acapella together.

It is Hannah’s turn after Julia’s again, and Hannah sings her part with Julia helping her at a few words. Hannah has no problem to sing the ballad, no problem with the language or sing out the low long notes or let her voice go a little lighter. Singing is a passion all five members enjoy; and to sing this ballad is such a joy for them.

Towards the end of Hannah’s part, when Julia is no longer singing with her, Hannah’s voice goes higher and her head turns a little to the side when singing the final line higher and ending it with a high note. Carolina starts to sing before Hannah’s high note ends, and Hannah waits a little before singing with the other members, stopping to let Carolina sing a line and the members sing two lines together before Carolina sings higher than the others that are merely heard as background singers. And then Maria’s voice breaks out, taking control of the song where they are sitting, and while she sings the other members continues to be background singers for a while. Hannah sings a line, then Maria sings a line that ends with the all members singing and the whole song ends with Hannah and Maria singing a final line, the whole song ends with a low *ooh* dying away with the music.

Continuing to the next song when the audience gives a cheer, it is the Korean song [Tomorrow (I’ll Be Gone)] that three years ago was said to be the song that proved 5 Pieces vocal improvement since debut. It is a really good song, produced and written by Jo Insuk, and it fits the mood already created by the beautiful [Life, Life, Life] that seemed to have made the audience get teary eyes.

Hannah doesn’t want it to end. She wishes they had more ballads, knowing that the song coming next is the dance pop song [You Said A Lie]. She likes to sit here and sing; soft lights on the members, live band on their sides and an audience that really seems to be listening to them. This whole concert has been so great. Half of it has passed now, so fast, and it makes her sad. She doesn’t want it to end. She wants to continue to sing and perform and have this audience filled with Japanese fans, talk to them and perform some more. It feels like she gets to sit there and sing for a long time, so comfortable, but yet it feels too soon when they are standing up to perform the dance pop song, wearing their dresses prettily.

By the time that song ends, Hannah is already running off the stage in the dark. She is in a hurry, being guided to change clothes fast and she gets to drink a little water before the dress is thrown off. Hannah is always embarrassed at those moments, but though it is a guy unclothing and clothing her, she wouldn’t be less embarrassed if it was a woman just because their gay stylist Yong Hyun knows everything about 5 Pieces and is the best of the best. The video on the stage has already started to play, prepare fans for the next stage. Hannah is wearing a black bra and huge white shirt that isn’t buttoned before she pulls on white shorts, and then buttoning the shirt while making sure she looks okay in the mirror.

She suddenly smiles at her stylist when hearing the audience starting to scream.

“They know what song it is,” Yong Hyun tells her proudly with a smile, touching the shirt to make sure it looks as it should on her.

Outside on the big screen, the audience has started to scream just by the sight of Hannah walking on the big screen where the opening video is playing. It looks good when she presses the key on the piano and a raindrop falls down, and it starts to rain on the screen while the audience is screaming even louder, a squeaky scream from several directions. Several fans had been crying during the ballads, even more had been crying when the whole concert began, but many of them now are screaming out as if their lives were bet on it. Hannah in the video looks up, looking stunning with the rain falling on her.

After the video has come to an end, the stage lightens up in dark blue, green and purple lamps shining a dimply light inside the arena with the background screen showing rain falling and the piano taken out with the pianist Song Giyoon dressed in a white outfit with a feather in her hair. The rain from the screen is heard, the piano is playing the sad melody that the audience seems to know so well and a low voice sings;

*Oh… hm…*

Hannah comes up on the stage from the lift above the stairs, the big shirt in white makes her blonde hair with dark locks stand out even more, and her bare legs looks really good in the high heels. the audience gets loud by her appearance, getting lower to hear it when Hannah starts to sing in a light tone, her voice amazingly going lower in a great adlib;

*Hiiiiiii yeeeaaeah*

When she starts to sing [I CRY], standing with the rain falling behind her on the screen, she looks out over the audience with a confused face-expression, so in to the song just by hearing the rain and piano; delivering the lyrics with not just her voice and words but also with her face.

*I see myself in the mirror

I can’t recognize my reflection

Who am I? Why am I alive?*

*Tell me where to walk

Guide me through this life

I regret a lot of things…

I regret staying alive*

[CHORUS] *I cry

These tears falling down my cheeks

True sadness, I cry

These feelings inside my chest

True feelings, I cry

These words comes from my heart

True words, I cry*

The piano continues to play after the chorus has ended, and Hannah starts to walk down the stairs with just the piano to listen to. She walks without a hurry down the stairs and to the front of the main stage, the audience cheering when she is approaching.

*Mmmmmm, woah~*

Calmly she sings, once again getting teary when she is closer to the audience to see that so many of them are crying. A purple ocean is before her. Hannah holds in her tears, lowering her chin when more instruments join in and she continues to sing with a louder voice, more desperate.

*I cry myself to sleep

Endless dreams

Of a girl like me

A girl who wanted to leave*

*I cry myself to sleep

Broken dreams (broken dreams~)*

Hannah is fast to add the adlib, a long tone, her eyes filled with tears because the audience is singing along with her. she thought she heard it wrong when she was above the stairs, but it was right; the audience sings along. Backstage, the ladies are listening too. Carolina is using a light voice when freaking out that the audience is singing along already. It doesn’t stop Hannah’s performance, she continues just as she has practiced.

*Of a girl like me

I can’t do this anymore*

She sits down on her heels near the side of the stage, resting one knee on the stage and the fans she has knelt down in front of are getting big eyes and mouths dropping looking at her. Hannah sees one fan standing the closest with her hands held together, tears falling down her cheeks and Hannah can’t feel if her own tears are still in her eyes or if they are falling down too. Hannah continues to sing two more lines, her voice almost shouting it out to fit the music playing and her free hand not holding the microphone goes through her hair to really express the lyrics with more than just her voice.

*The street I walk is endless…

I have to end it*

The line is finished singing helplessly with her head down before Hannah looks up at the ceiling, closing her eyes and hands falling down her sides when she stands back up. It’s a silence; the instruments all stopped to play when she stopped singing, and the camera filming for the screen now captures Hannah’s face when she is standing there with her eyes closed and facing up. She tries to not let her face tremble, but she is sure her lips can’t stop tremble when she is trying to control her feelings. This song is just hopeless to sing in front an audience like this, especially if she has been holding in the tears for so long this evening. And the audience has been singing along with her. The audience is even crying! How can she not cry with them then? This is her song, a song she never thought she would perform live or even record or release; it was a song she wrote when feeling down, a song she wanted to show their song-writer to know if it maybe could be a good lesson to have him tell her the good and bad in it. But he told her to step in the booth and sing. And this is where she is one and a half year later…

The rain starts to fall again and Hannah lowers her head. She starts to slowly head to the centre of the stage, to be able to walk out to the second stage, the piano starts to play with her when she starts to sing; quietly and sadly. She can’t help herself but to wipe away some tears while walking too.

*I cry myself to sleep…

These tears falling down my cheeks

A girl like me…

These feelings inside my cest

These words comes from my heart

I cry… I cry… I cry…

Wooooh, I cry~ Ooh! I cry!*

Her voice goes higher for the last adlibs, her voice rising in a sad and desperate tone, all helpless as she steps out on the second stage, at that time standing still in the centre. She gets quiet after that, the piano continuing to play. She has been glancing around at the audience when singing coming out to this stage, and now she looks out in front of her, the microphone by and though she has been singing in Korean she doesn’t speak Korean when asking the question;

“Can you sing it for me?”

She holds out the microphone to the audience, and she sings the chorus without the microphone in case the audience will see and the piano has stopped to play. The audience caught up right away as they starts to sing the chorus. Hannah gives a smile, her eyes tearing up twice the speed then before as she looks around her with amazement at the beautiful sound of the audience singing her song. The Japanese fans know [I CRY].

[CHORUS, Audience] *I cry

These tears falling down my cheeks

True sadness, I cry

These feelings inside my chest*

Hannah puts the microphone to her lips to join in with a low voice to still be able to hear the fans singing without any music, and she doesn’t care that she is crying because even out on this stage she can see fans in the audience crying. If they can cry, she can too.

*True feelings, I cry

These words comes from my heart

True words, I cry*

The instruments joins in and Hannah puts the microphone further away from her lips, using her strong voice to sing the chorus once again, emotionally and desperate and crying happy tears over what the audience has managed to do and still is doing. The audience continues to sing with her, they sing the chorus normally while Hannah does her emotional and desperate version, even bending her back to manage to do it. Hannah sings her adlib from the top of her lungs, her voice cracks a little from crying and her cheeks hurting from that she is still trying to hold back a little of the tears because of how beautiful the audience makes it sound. They are like back-up singers. The perfect kind.

*These feelings inside my chest

True feelings, I cry

I cry (I can’t stop these tears~~)*

She sings the adlib while leaning a little to the side to get out the right strong voice and the audience is just cheering along now.

*These words comes from my heart

True words, I cry*

Hannah takes a deep breath when the chorus ends as she had gone down on her knees, but instead of warming up for some higher notes she lies down on her back and the audience is starting to scream again. Her voice calms down when singing now, Hannah’s knees hugging each other and her free hand is put above her head, touching her hair. You can hear in her voice that she is crying, and the audience is loving it so much and the stage spotlights are softly shimmering now, preparing for the end of her performance.

*Two lights rush towards me

Just one second~*

*The street is left in lightning*

Her last words now are barely a whisper;

*One last look

I cry*

She looks to the side, the microphone in her hand and her arm lying on the stage, her microphone by as she looks at the camera, a final whisper from her.

*I cry*

The lights go out and the cheer bursts out from the audience, a loud crying cheer.

That big screen starts to play the video again, this time showing Hannah walking away from the piano in the rain. And the picture freezes, words coming out as Hannah’s voice reads them out in Japanese like “the lights I see are no longer from cars, but from the stage. And I know that in the dark around me, before me, there are people listening to me. And I know that no one is really alone; some just need to look through the dark a little harder before spotting the light”. Though the audience is crying and cheering over the letter Hannah wrote, it continues with Hannah saying the words written next; “Thank You for showing me your light and guiding me out from the dark”.
